(There will be another round of red envelopes in tomorrow afternoon's chapter, so please save some of your recommendation votes for me!)
That evening, Xing Baohua celebrated the opening of the double door at Liu Haibo's small apartment. Unfortunately, his sister-in-law wasn't there. Bo Mei was able to serve tea, water, and cigarettes, but she couldn't quite relax.
Xing Baohua had drunk a little alcohol, and Liu Haibo suggested that Xing Baohua not go home that night, and that Xiaobomei prepare the bedding.
Xing Baohua could only think to himself, "I appreciate the sentiment, but it's the wrong time! I can't convince the girl until the business is finished. I still have to accompany Liu Quan to work on the board tonight."
Actually, if this guy really wanted to stay, he could at least chat with Xiaobo about life while he was drunk, or if it was convenient, talk about physiology, and even put his theories into practice.
This guy had ridden his bike for half a mile before he regretted it.
Back at the repair shop, Liu Quan had already started working with Niu Jishan, and there was an apprentice named Shao Donglin who had been called there by Niu Jishan.
The two followed Liu Quan to look at the board blueprints. Niu Jishan picked it up quickly, learning as he went, and he mastered it after working on just two boards. Then he went back to use a multimeter to measure the data.
Shao Donglin, on the other hand, seemed a bit less capable; he appeared cautious but was slower in terms of practical skills.
"Hua Zi is here," Liu Quan said, glancing at Xing Baohua.
"Let them handle this first, I need to talk to you about something," Xing Baohua said to Liu Quan, and then the two of them walked outside together.
There was a reclining chair that Liu Quan had brought outside the door. Xing Baohua went over and sat down, saying to Liu Quan, "I'm not dissatisfied with you now. I have my own factory in Shangguzhuang."
"I knew a little bit and heard some rumors, but since you didn't tell me, I didn't dare to ask," Liu Quan said honestly.
"No matter how you know, it's true. And I'm really short-staffed on my end. I was thinking of asking you to do me a favor and help me train the people there."
As they were talking, Xing Baohua took out a cigarette and offered one to Liu Quan, lighting it for him as well.
Xing Baohua continued, "I have a one-year agreement with the factory manager. I'll leave once I've trained a successor for him. I originally wanted you to take over, and with your uncle looking after you, you'd be better off than anyone else. But the factory manager is selling calculators at the factory price, which annoyed me. Plus, I'm short-handed on my end, so I thought I'd take you with me. This isn't urgent, think about it and we'll see."
Liu Quan didn't give an answer on the spot, but just nodded. This was a big deal, and he needed to think it over and weigh it carefully.
Regardless of the job, being a factory worker in a machine shop meant having a secure, stable job. But working for Xing Baohua was like quitting your job and starting your own business.
Liu Quan knew that Xu Shuai had gone with him. But since they were childhood friends, Liu Quan could only be considered a friend or a mentor-student relationship.
Don't be fooled by Xing Baohua's help in getting him promoted; his uncle's influence and connections also played a part in it.
Since becoming a factory worker, his family has arranged many blind dates for him, and he has taken a liking to a girl who is a teacher. The two are currently dating.
Xing Baohua asked him to help, which was his duty, and he was also grateful for it. Working for Xing Baohua would be a completely different matter.
"I never mistreat any of the brothers who work for me; I always give them some shares." Xing Baohua made it clear that he, Xing Baohua, was a generous person and that working for him would be profitable.
The red envelopes given last time are enough to prove that Xing Baohua is still very profitable.
Liu Quan nodded, indicating that he understood.
the next day.
On a train passing through central Shandong.
An elderly man, around fifty years old and wearing a baseball cap, said to a young woman in her twenties sitting opposite him, "Xiao Bian! What organization hired the director? You didn't explain clearly."
"Didn't I tell you yesterday? An electronics factory is filming an advertisement," said an old man standing next to the middle-aged and elderly people.
The girl called Xiao Bian was none other than her sister-in-law. She went back to the provincial film studio, inquired around, and asked two directors and a few actors, but none of them were willing to take on Xing Baohua's job. Fortunately, a former colleague told her that there was an old director at the studio who was currently unemployed.
Back then, due to a disciplinary issue, I remained unemployed at home for many years without being rehired. The factory's performance was also poor, with a very low film release rate; whenever a film was scheduled, it was given to the younger directors.
The person who just asked the question was this director, Wang Hanbin. He probably went through a lot back then, so he's very careful in his actions.
The idea for the electronics factory to advertise was also spurred on by my sister-in-law. She came up with it on a whim while watching TV at the guesthouse and seeing an advertisement.
If we hadn't offered Director Wang three times his salary, he might not have come.
During their conversation, the younger sister-in-law mentioned she needed to find a composer, and Director Wang quickly realized it might be for setting music for billboards. He then introduced an old friend who was also unemployed at home. Upon hearing about the triple pay, the friend agreed to come, figuring that since he was idle at home anyway, finding something to do would also help lift his spirits.
So the two agreed to come to central Shandong with the young woman. However, Director Wang was still a little worried and kept asking questions several times.
The younger sister-in-law was also feeling down. She must be terrified of what she was beaten up in the past; why was she being so cautious? She just wanted to make money. Besides, she wasn't a human trafficker; why would she sell you?
I've never heard of anyone taking an old man in as their father!
After a three-hour train ride, we took a bus to a government guesthouse to take the two elderly men to their accommodation.
The young woman had a letter of introduction from some government agency on her. Accommodation was convenient, though.
The two old men were told to wait in the room. The guesthouse had a canteen, so they could have lunch there. The young woman said the factory workers from the electronics factory would come to see them in the afternoon.
Back at their apartment, Liu Haibo's sister-in-law asked him to contact Xing Baohua, saying that the person he wanted had arrived.
Xing Baohua received the notification and arrived around 3 PM. His sister-in-law gave him the address and room number, telling him to go and negotiate himself.
