Xing Baohua's guards stepped forward and reached out to stop the man from getting closer.
"Amin, I'm worried about your safety since you're not at work." As he spoke, he tried to push aside the guards blocking his way.
Just as the guards were about to make their move, Xing Baohua said, "Let him come over here."
Xing Baohua said to Master Zhou, "If you handle him, he won't be so lucky next time."
Master Zhou nodded and watched Xing Baohua get into the car.
The guards stood to the side of Sect Leader Zhou, constantly on guard against any move the man might make.
"Amin!"
"Ade, I'm now a contracted artist with Hainan Entertainment, so I won't need to work so hard on side jobs anymore. Thank you for taking care of me during this time."
Just as the other party was about to say something, Sect Leader Zhou suddenly said, "It's impossible for us. Thank you for taking care of me."
After saying that, Master Zhou was the first to run towards the car.
"Just because he's rich?"
Master Zhou stopped and turned around, saying, "No, he is my boss."
When the man named Ade tried to go any further, he was stopped by the guards.
Just as she was about to push the guards away in anger, a strong hand grabbed her collar and threw her off.
He also warned, "Don't come any closer, or you'll face the consequences."
After saying that, he quickly got into the car.
After getting into the car, Master Zhou turned his head to look out the window. Xing Baohua, who was waiting for her, reached out and took her delicate little hand.
He asked, "Your suitor?"
The little hand tried to pull it out twice but couldn't. Sect Leader Zhou said irritably, "I guess so!"
"A rich young master?" Xing Baohua asked tentatively, looking at the man's appearance, he was basically just another passerby, and she had no recollection of him at all.
"No, he's the lead singer of a band. We met on a TV show, and afterwards we frequented that bar, but we didn't really have any contact," Master Zhou said.
"The lead singer of the band?" Xing Baohua thought for a while, but couldn't remember which band it was. He guessed they weren't very famous.
If he had remained popular until the 1990s, Xing Baohua might have had some impression of him.
Forget about that, and asked Sect Leader Zhou, "Are we just going to eat chicken rice?"
"What else would you like to eat? The chicken rice over there is pretty good, and there's free soup to drink." After changing the subject, a faint smile appeared on Master Zhou's face.
"Okay, chicken rice it is then. Has the renovation company contacted you?"
No! They didn't come to the company to look for me?
"You didn't press the button?" Xing Baohua asked in surprise.
"No, that stuff is very expensive."
"Come to my office tomorrow to pick one up." After Xing Baohua finished speaking, seeing that the sect leader's eyes widened again, he continued, "It will still be deducted from your future salary."
"From now on, you'll be provided with an agent, assistant, and so on."
Thank you.
"Since I'm treating you so well, you should treat me to meals more often in the future."
"Okay! But eating out isn't healthy. I'll cook for you when I have time." After saying this, the sect leader felt like he had said something wrong and quickly lowered his head.
"Sure, I'll try your cooking sometime."
After Xing Baohua finished speaking, she squeezed that delicate little hand.
The tea restaurant where we ate wasn't far from Kowloon City.
I noticed that Master Zhou often comes here to eat, and many people greet her.
A luxury car parked in a poor, remote area is so conspicuous.
Many people thought an important person had arrived and curiously craned their necks to look.
The tea restaurant was crowded and chaotic, small, and had only a few tables.
Xing Baohua's bodyguard took out several hundred-yuan bills and apologized to the diners, asking if they could move aside.
They were all very polite because of the money, and just like that, they cleared out a table for them.
Chicken rice comes in two varieties: poached chicken or roasted chicken.
A serving of rice plus half a chicken, cut up and plated, half a chicken without the drumstick.
If you want chicken drumsticks, then it's chicken drumstick rice.
The rice has a slightly sweet taste, so the ingredients were added while the rice was steaming.
The free soup was chicken broth, very flavorful; Xing Baohua guessed it contained at least half a packet of MSG. The first sip was alright, but the second sip made her lose her appetite.
What may seem like an ordinary meal is actually quite elaborate.
Xing Baohua ordered quite a lot. Besides chicken rice, they also have char siu, sausage rice, and other dishes; she wanted to try a little of everything.
Seeing that Xing Baohua hadn't drunk much soup, Master Zhou said, "How about I order you a cup of herbal tea? The herbal tea here is quite good."
Just as Xing Baohua was about to refuse, a waiter who was clearing away the dishes overheard her and chimed in, "Miss is right, our herbal tea is the most authentic. It's the most effective way to prevent colds, relieve heat, and quench thirst."
Seeing how well it was said, Xing Baohua nodded and had a drink.
The first bite is slightly bitter, but it ends with a subtle sweetness, like the sweetness of licorice.
His brow furrowed slightly, as if he were thinking about something.
Seeing Xing Baohua's furrowed brows, Master Zhou, relieved, asked, "What's wrong? Still not used to the taste?"
"I'm fine, I just suddenly thought of something," Xing Baohua said, shaking her head slightly.
After saying that, he picked up the cup of herbal tea and slowly sipped it, thinking to himself, "The taste is a bit worse than Da Hong Ji, but it can be improved. If it can really quench thirst and relieve internal heat, it will be another project for Zhao Shanhai."
Xing Baohua called over the waiter who had spoken earlier and asked, "Who brewed this herbal tea?"
"Boss!"
"Are you there? I'd like to talk to him."
"It's in the kitchen, I'll go call it." After saying that, the waiter walked towards the kitchen, shouting with his mouth wide open, "Boss, someone's looking for you."
The boss was a middle-aged man in his fifties or sixties. He was wearing a large vest, shorts, and flip-flops.
His appearance was also somewhat unkempt.
"What do you want?" he asked upon seeing Xing Baohua.
