Sun Chenzhou is a software architect. He graduated from Cambridge University and earned his master's degree from Harvard University. He then worked at General Electric.
He was recruited to work last year; he's an American of Chinese descent. His ancestors were supposedly from eastern Henan, and his family immigrated to the United States during the early Republican era.
This man has another outstanding characteristic: he's a worldly bachelor. He's thirty-four or thirty-five years old and still unmarried.
After coming to China, the rice union organized several matchmaking events for him, but either he looked down on the women or the young women felt they were not good enough for him.
So I'm still single.
When Xing Baohua saw the pager showing Sun Chenzhou approaching, he immediately realized that someone had sent instructions to Hou Qian.
If a divorced young wife were to lower herself to approach a single middle-aged man, she might not be able to easily win him over, but she could at least hook up with a group of them.
Both of them had lived abroad and were open-minded about things beyond friendship. It had nothing to do with love; it was just about helping each other relieve loneliness and satisfying physical needs.
Xing Baohua thought about it and realized that Sun Chenzhou didn't have much control over the things in the laboratory, mainly the application software of the rice system.
However, it is also important in some ways. We have access to some of the underlying development code, and we can use the underlying technology to change some functions, such as the bootloader.
This involves the firmware lock on the motherboard.
All software and hardware have vulnerabilities. Once the bootloader is locked, it can usually be unlocked by restoring the phone to its initial state, resulting in the loss of all data on the phone.
In the era of feature phones, bootloader (BL) unlocking was mostly done by shorting an engineering wire to access the underlying program.
This allows you to bypass the firmware on the motherboard, access the program, rewrite the program at will, and even export the data.
In particular, engineers who design these software architectures can notice many vulnerabilities in programs or hardware when running the software and running the code.
Most of these vulnerabilities are in the protocols; if you can exploit these vulnerabilities, no one's phone will have any secrets.
It can be hacked through radio frequencies, or through data transmission; the easiest and most difficult method is still using a data cable.
So the difficulty lies in getting your hands on the phone, connecting it with a data cable, downloading certain things, or embedding a mini-program.
Xing Baohua replied to a message on his pager and asked, "Who issued the command?"
A short while later, they replied: "It will take some time; we're still investigating."
Seeing this reply, Xing Baohua was speechless. They had provided the best tracking equipment, yet they still couldn't capture the person behind the signal.
With Xing Baohua's involvement, many technologies have also improved. It's no longer like watching a movie where you get a kidnapping call asking how much money to pay. Here, the phone is being monitored, and it takes time to find the other party's address.
With a landline, you can usually find the other party's registration information and address in a few seconds. Wireless is a little more complicated, but you can still find the receiving tower within a few seconds.
Then, based on the radius pattern, we can find an approximate location.
The more troublesome option is the pager, since the other party can leave a message for the paging service using a public phone.
If you're sending messages directly using a point-to-point pager, that's much easier. Just find the registered user based on the pager number, and then find the location within the specified radius.
If they can't find the person for so long, the relevant departments either aren't familiar with the tracking technology or they've really encountered a problem.
And sure enough, we did run into a real problem.
Then a phone call came in, asking Xing Baohua to go to the rice laboratory.
When Xing Baohua arrived at the destination, he met a comrade surnamed Lü. He had met him several times before, but this time he learned what the other person's surname was.
"What's the situation?" Xing Baohua asked Comrade Lü as soon as he arrived.
"Just come and take a look," Comrade Lü said, leading Xing Baohua to the roof of the newly built office building. There was a 20-meter-high iron tower on the roof, from which all the surrounding signals were transmitted.
Furthermore, there are several large satellite dishes on the roof. One dish receives satellite signals, and another dish also receives satellite signals, but the satellites are from different countries.
Next to one of the large pots was a small pot, similar to the kind of small pots that were common in our rural areas a few years ago.
"This... when did someone install a small dish?" Xing Baohua went up to check the LNB, but there was no data written on it.
I crouched down and followed the connecting lines to the top of the signal tower. One line went up to the top of the tower, and another line, which was probably a power line, was the power supply line for the entire signal tower.
Xing Baohua scratched his head. The satellite dish should be for receiving signals, so it needs a decoder or something similar.
But the signal from the other side went directly up to the signal tower, which would be difficult for Xing Baohua, given his physique, to go up and take a look.
After thinking for a moment, Xing Baohua took out his phone and called Liu Quan, asking him to come quickly to the rooftop of the office building, which is near the signal tower.
This is the only person I can trust. As for why I don't use people from relevant departments, it's mainly because I don't understand their technical level.
Liu Quan has been studying wireless technology over the years, and he's also quite skilled at climbing walls and scaling rooftops.
About twenty minutes later, Liu Quan arrived.
"Brother Quanzi, do you see this wire? Follow the tower and find it. Look for the box in which it's located. Remember the model number on the box and the connection point of the wire as well. Tell me when you come down later." Xing Baohua pointed and explained to Liu Quan.
Xing Baohua is using a future billionaire like a pawn! He doesn't seem to care at all. What if he falls from grace?
Of course, Liu Quan couldn't go up barehanded, so a safety rope was provided for him.
Fortunately, Liu Quan didn't ask questions like "What are you doing up there?", unlike Xu Shuai.
Remember what I told you to do. Following the pre-reserved support points, Liu Quan climbed up. There was a difficult part to climb, but then there was a welded iron ladder.
