Deliberately ignoring the fleeting glint in Wang Liang's eyes, Li Yaxi smiled politely but distantly.

"Long time no see, how have you been lately?"

Wang Liang said with a hint of reproach, "Ya Xi, you've been missing for quite a while now. Your phone number is no longer in service, and you've even changed your school name to 'exchange student' and gone to America. You've really managed to hide from people very thoroughly!"

Li Yaxi chuckled lightly, "How did going abroad for further studies become an excuse to hide from someone? My phone was stolen, and I don't remember the number. I'm not trying to disappear. I have something to do, so I'll be going now."

Wang Liang grabbed Li Yaxi and wouldn't let go. "Don't act like a woman, okay? Let's just forget about that matter and not bring it up again, okay? I've been keeping that job open for you. Why don't you just do me a favor and take it on?"

Li Yaxi sighed inwardly, but still smiled politely on the surface.

"I'm really not that petty. How about I give you my new phone number, and we can meet up again sometime? I'm really busy."

"For the Feng family!"

Li Yaxi didn't hide anything and nodded in agreement.

Wang Liang seemed to recall something that puzzled him. "Do you know Zhou Yang?"

Li Yaxi was surprised. "I know him. Why are you suddenly bringing him up?"

Wang Liang smiled and said, "It's lunchtime now, and it's just the two of us. You don't even have time to eat, do you? If you're in a hurry after we eat, I'll take you somewhere!"

Li Yaxi rolled her eyes at Wang Liang. "You're treating!"

Wang Liang smiled and invited Li Yaxi into the car, readily agreeing.

A nice restaurant, with each table separated by potted plants at just the right distance, allowing you to see the whole hall but not hear the conversations at the next table too clearly.

As soon as they sat down, Wang Liang handed the menu to Li Yaxi, who then ordered several light but expensive dishes without any hesitation.

"What did Zhou Yang do? Why are you mentioning him for no reason? You probably don't even know him, right?"

We ordered a few more dishes, then returned the menu to the waitress and asked her to leave.

"I don't know him, but when the Feng family got into trouble, Zhou Yang went to great lengths to help them. He begged and pleaded with everyone he could find. You're quite close to Feng Zihao, aren't you? I'm just curious. What kind of relationship do they have that Zhou Yang would send himself to someone's bed to beg for help?"

Li Yaxi's heart skipped a beat. "What do you mean? Zhou Yang went to ask someone to help the Feng family?"

"You didn't know? Didn't Feng Zihao tell you? Several times at dinner parties, Zhou Yang almost drank himself to death because of Feng Zihao, and it was Feng Zihao who got him out of there."

Li Yaxi's throat felt a little itchy, and she had no appetite at all looking at the delicacies in front of her.

"Is the Feng family really beyond saving this time?"

Wang Liang nodded, "You didn't grow up in this circle, so you don't know how deep the water is. The Feng family's downfall was only a matter of time, and Feng Zihao probably already knows it."

Li Yaxi nodded without saying anything. Wang Liang lit a cigarette and took a puff.

"Ya Xi, how do you plan to help him? What are you going to do?"

Li Yaxi glanced at Wang Liang, then shifted her gaze to the dishes that held no appeal for her.

"His younger brother's trip abroad is already on track. It should be ready in a couple of days, and he should be able to start school in the US before September."

"You did this all by yourself? You must have pulled a lot of strings and used a lot of connections, right? It usually costs a lot of money for ordinary people to go abroad, but for someone in this precarious situation right now, it must have cost a fortune!"

"Money isn't important; at least his brother is safe. His parents are probably in a bit of trouble."

Wang Liang flicked his cigarette ash, smiled, and shook his head. "It's not that it's difficult, it's that there's no hope at all. Although Feng Zihao doesn't participate in politics, he is still a member of the Feng family. I heard that the company he co-owns with his friend is only spared because his friend has a strong family background. But he's probably in trouble now too. Ya Xi, I advise you, you've already protected his brother, which is quite loyal. Draw a clear line between yourself and him, otherwise you'll get into trouble too!"

"I know what trouble I could cause, who I can offend and who I can't, and I won't act impulsively."

What are you planning to do?

"Find the Yan family"

Wang Liang paused, his hand hovering over the ashtray, and looked at Li Yaxi in surprise. "Did Feng Zihao say that?"

Li Yaxi shook her head, somewhat disappointed. "Zihao never tells me these things. Even something this serious, I had to find out myself."

There's no need to delve into why Li Yaxi knows so much now. Wang Liang frowned as he looked at him.

"What if I don't approve of you going? Ya Xi, don't be sold out and still help him count the money. The Yan family does have influence, but why should they help you? If you want money, they have plenty of it, they don't need that little bit. The eldest son of the Yan family is a lecherous man, he likes men, and you're still young, you can't handle that kind of person at all!"

"I know you mean well, and I won't be foolish enough to put myself in someone else's bed! Don't worry, I know what I'm doing!"

Wang Liang was a little irritated. Ever since the Feng family's affair was exposed, the thought of Li Yaxi's close relationship with Feng Zihao had made him worried. Now, Li Yaxi's attitude made him even more anxious.

"Ya Xi, don't act rashly. Let me take a look for you. Just don't get involved yet."

"Brother Wang Liang, you'd better stay out of this mess. The Feng family's affairs aren't so easy, I understand. Let's do our best and leave the rest to fate!"

After breaking up with Wang Liang, Li Yaxi felt like a stone was stuck in her chest.

He didn't want to go home; seeing Feng Zihao would remind him of Zhou Yang.

What men fear most is responsibility and guilt. Zhou Yang grew up with him and never did anything excessive to him.

Now that he has sacrificed so much for him, how could Feng Zihao still be so heartless because of that little grudge between them back then?

Just thinking about the scene of Feng Zihao taking Zhou Yang away from the dinner table made Li Yaxi feel a tightness and pain in her chest.

The mountain road was noisy and bustling late at night, filled with cheers, shouts, and the roar of engines. A group of passionate and unrestrained teenagers, each with a distorted worldview stemming from their loneliness and lack of outlets for their emotions.

I never imagined that Li Yaxi would appear in this place again in this lifetime.
