☆、Twenty-seven、An Innocent Dumpling (2470 words)
Li Yaxi found it strange that Feng Zihao's face kept changing color, so strange that he couldn't guess what Feng Zihao was thinking. Why are kids these days so hard to understand?
"Zihao, what are you thinking? If you want to live with me, I have enough space here. The bed is big enough for everyone."
Feng Zihao jumped up and ran off as if fleeing a disaster, yelling, "I'm going to the restroom!" If he didn't leave soon, he would embarrass himself by getting a nosebleed in front of Li Yaxi.
If she still couldn't understand Li Yaxi, then she had wasted nearly thirty years of her life. She lay on the bed, laughing uncontrollably until she almost passed out. He's so cute! How come I never noticed how cute Feng Zihao was before?
While Feng Zihao was in the bathroom dealing with his nosebleed, Li Yaxi made a decision that would lead to a tragic end for Feng Zihao: in order to see the adorable Feng Zihao often, she would tease him all the time.
After much deliberation, Feng Zihao finally decided to take Li Yaxi home to stay; after all, he didn't only own one house. Feng Zihao had a suite designed in a forest style. The living room had a spiral staircase leading to a small loft-style room; if you leaned over the edge, you could get a panoramic view of the entire house.
Feng Zihao used the space above the suspended ceiling as a study. It was piled high with books, but Li Yaxi insisted on putting tatami mats up there to make it a bedroom. In the end, Feng Zihao's study was moved to a room downstairs, leaving the main room empty. A bookcase was placed upstairs, piled high with books, and then a carpet was laid out. On the carpet were two very large tatami mats, enough for Li Yaxi to roll around on three or four times.
A small table was placed in front of the tatami mat, on which sat Li Yaxi's notebook. The entire room was decorated in a very cozy style. Li Yaxi especially loved all kinds of plush toys and always liked to sleep with something in her arms, so the floor and bed were piled high with all sorts of dolls.
At first glance, it looked like a girl's room. But Li Yaxi was young, so it wasn't strange. Compared to toy guns and toy cars, Feng Zihao preferred soft things to Li Yaxi, at least they wouldn't scratch him.
Their new home together was finally completed. On their first day in, Li Yaxi was jumping for joy. Until she almost fell down the stairs, Feng Zihao was so scared he pinned her down on the sofa, not letting her get off. The person who had been so noisy and insistent on not announcing the news fell asleep within half an hour. Feng Zihao covered Li Yaxi with a light blanket and went to unpack their belongings. Without Li Yaxi's help, he quickly finished unpacking, tidied up a bit, and made dinner before waking the soundly sleeping person.
Li Yaxi, chewing on a dumpling, looked at Feng Zihao with a serious expression and said, "Zihao, I'll marry you someday."
Feng Zihao's hand trembled as he tried to pick up a dumpling, and the dumpling slipped onto the table. Li Yaxi, looking at the dumpling that had escaped Hao's grasp, said regretfully, "Zihao, why are you so upset? What a waste!"
Feng Zihao swallowed hard. "Ya Xi..."
Li Yaxi shook her head regretfully, "Forget it, I'll just find a thrifty and hardworking wife instead."
Feng Zihao choked again; this was like a rollercoaster ride. It seemed his heart needed some training. "Eat quickly, it's getting cold."
Seeing Feng Zihao pretending to be fierce, Li Yaxi really wanted to say, "You're just angry because you're embarrassed!"
Li Yaxi was at her wits' end when Feng Zihao refused to sleep with her no matter what she said. Watching Feng Zihao playing on the computer downstairs, Li Yaxi had already come up with a series of plans, hoping that one of them would make Feng Zihao roll upstairs on his own.
He was sound asleep in the middle of the night when he suddenly heard a scream. Remembering that Li Yaxi was outside, Feng Zihao immediately jumped up and ran to the stilt house. He turned on the light and saw Li Yaxi sitting on the tatami. Feng Zihao rushed over and asked, "Yaxi, what's wrong? Did you have a nightmare?"
Li Yaxi's eyes were red and she looked like she was about to cry. She pointed to the bump on her head and said "it hurts." Feng Zihao leaned closer and saw that Li Yaxi's forehead was covered in red marks. His heart ached. "What happened? Where did you bump yourself?"
Li Yaxi pointed to the red solid wood cabinet behind the kicked-away doll. Feng Zihao rubbed Li Yaxi's forehead, "We'll move the cabinet tomorrow. We won't put it there anymore; it'll just take up space."
"There's also a wall."
"..."
The next day, Feng Zihao went out and bought a large bed. A tatami mat was fine in the summer, but not in the winter; Li Yaxi's body couldn't handle the ground. Anyway, they had to buy one sooner or later. That night…
"ah!"
Hearing the noise, Feng Zihao immediately ran upstairs, only to find Li Yaxi getting up from the floor. He immediately grabbed her, looking her over anxiously, "Where did you fall? How could you fall on such a big bed! Does anything hurt? Does your stomach hurt?"
When Feng Zihao was little, his grandmother told him a story about a child who fell off the bed and hurt his stomach. The parents didn't take it seriously, and the child died the next day. The thought immediately made Feng Zihao uneasy. He grabbed Li Yaxi, still dressed, and insisted on taking her to the hospital for a checkup. Li Yaxi refused, insisting she was fine and staying in bed. Feng Zihao, at a loss, worried she might need him that night, so he simply took a pillow and slept in the bed himself.
Li Yaxi chuckled inwardly, "Hmph, little brat, he still managed to fall asleep!"
That night, Li Yaxi slept soundly and peacefully, while Feng Zihao slept restlessly. The torment of sleeping with one's beloved is something not every man can endure. Thankfully, the next day was the weekend, so Feng Zihao could catch up on his sleep.
The first couple of days were probably because she wasn't familiar with the environment, so things kept going wrong. Things should get better now that she's more comfortable. Feng Zihao wanted to let Li Yaxi sleep alone tonight to try. But before nightfall, Li Yaxi kept complaining of a headache. Feng Zihao touched her and found she had a fever. He immediately started giving her medicine and checking her temperature. Li Yaxi had a fever all night, and Feng Zihao stayed up all night taking care of her.
By morning, Li Yaxi's fever had finally subsided. She was exhausted after a whole night of fussing and felt much better, so she fell asleep immediately. Feng Zihao, still worried, simply held her and slept with her.
In short, the adjustment period of living together was over. Feng Zihao never considered letting Li Yaxi sleep alone again; the weather was getting cooler, and she would suffer if she kicked off the covers and got cold in the night. So, sharing a bed ended with Li Yaxi's complete victory.
If it weren't for Feng Zihao leading the way, Li Yaxi would have almost forgotten how to get to her classroom. She's already in her second year of high school, and Li Yaxi still doesn't know where the music room and the lab are. Her classmates are also very curious about this sickly genius; if it weren't for Feng Zihao's incredibly stoic demeanor, Li Yaxi would probably be surrounded by onlookers again.
Zhan Xiaoyu leaned close to Li Yaxi's ear and whispered, "I heard you're living with Zihao?"
"Yes, Zihao is really great. He can do laundry and cook, he's incredibly virtuous. I originally wanted to marry him, but he's just too extravagant, sigh..."
Zhan Xiaoyu's brow twitched. "Are you sure the person you're talking about is the same person I'm talking about?"
Li Yaxi touched Zhan Xiaoyu's forehead. "You don't have a fever. Why are you talking nonsense in broad daylight? How many Feng Zihaos are there in the world? Of course, it's the same one."
Zhan Xiaoyu glanced at Feng Zihao, but was immediately swayed by Feng Zihao's cold glare and left in a huff. Feng Zihao inwardly groaned, "What kind of whispering is this? Is it really appropriate to gossip about someone in front of them?"
The crucial point is that he was rejected by Li Yaxi because of a dumpling that fell because he wasn't holding his chopsticks properly! If that dumpling had been knocked down by someone, it might have turned into a bloody incident caused by a dumpling!
