☆、VI、I'm Sick (2531 words)

Twenty people shared a warehouse at the base, with bunk beds. Li Yaxi finished making her bed and turned around to see Feng Zihao. This feeling filled her with heartache; it was the same in her past life—she could see him the moment she turned around. Unfortunately, she had hurt him.

Feng Zihao finished making the bed and subconsciously looked at Li Yaxi, only to see that his face was a little pale. His heart clenched, and he frowned with concern, "What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"

Li Yaxi felt a warmth in her heart. This person was still the same, unchanged. She smiled slightly at Feng Zihao, a smile different from the ones she gave to others; this one came from the bottom of her heart: "I'm fine, I'm just a little tired from walking too long."

Feng Zihao was once again captivated by Li Yaxi's smile. Without a word, he turned and left, returning with a bottle of Huoxiang Zhengqi Water (a traditional Chinese medicine for heatstroke). "Drink this; it'll cool you down."

Li Yaxi was somewhat moved, but also had a headache. He hadn't eaten anything other than what he had in his spatial dimension for almost nine years. To be honest, he was a little reluctant to drink the bottle of water in his hand. Feng Zihao seemed to notice his struggle. "It's not bitter. You won't feel uncomfortable after drinking it."

Li Yaxi glanced at Feng Zihao, who was trying hard to suppress his worry but couldn't hide it, gritted her teeth, and drank it down. The taste was truly awful; although it was very weak, it still had a medicinal flavor, and Li Yaxi's first reaction was nausea. But Feng Zihao beat her to it, stuffing a piece of candy into her mouth. Li Yaxi looked at Feng Zihao in surprise, but Feng Zihao turned away to do his own thing, seemingly avoiding her surprised gaze.

Zhan Xiaoyu and Zhao Yi saw their interaction clearly, and of course, Zhou Yang saw it too. Feng Zihao was an extremely aloof person who never paid attention to anyone except those around him, but now he was being so enthusiastic towards that guy who was even more devilishly handsome. Immediately, Zhou Yang felt a surge of jealousy, anger, and wariness.

Zhao Yi nudged Zhan Xiaoyu with his elbow. "Look at Zhou Yang, his face is like a color palette, it's truly fascinating."

Zhan Xiaoyu glanced at Zhou Yang dismissively. "I saw it a long time ago. I'm only interested in Li Yaxi now. Why is Zihao so nice to her? I don't even get that kind of treatment!"

"If you want to know why, just ask him yourself."

Zhan Xiaoyu looked at Zhao Yi as if he were an idiot. "Why don't you go? You want me to go and get myself into the line of fire? I'm not stupid!"

Zhao Yi removed Zhan Xiaoyu's hand from his shoulder, gave him a disdainful look, and turned to leave.

The initial training was just to allow everyone to adapt. They stood at attention for a while and ran a few laps around the parade ground. Even so, some of the pampered young masters and ladies still showed signs of heatstroke. Li Yaxi looked at the dinner in front of him and couldn't bring himself to eat it. He hadn't eaten whole grains in a long time, and the water he drank in the afternoon had made his stomach uncomfortable.

Feng Zihao watched Li Yaxi hesitate, chopsticks in hand. He knew that people often lose their appetite after excessive exercise, and he felt sorry for her, but she couldn't not eat. "Eat a little bit, you'll get used to it."

Seeing Li Yaxi's coquettish manner, Zhou Yang felt even more disgusted with him. "If there's food, just eat it. What's with the coquettishness!"

Li Yaxi didn't look up, but her mind was racing. She knew Zhan Xiaoyu, Zhao Yi, and Zhou Yang; she had met them a few times and knew they were Feng Zihao's childhood friends. In her past life, when she met Zhou Yang, it was because she had hurt Feng Zihao that Zhou Yang came to settle the score with her. So, it was understandable that Zhou Yang disliked her back then. But in this life, wasn't this their first meeting? When did she offend him? Could the dislike she felt for him in her past life carry over into this one? As she pondered this, she silently picked up her chopsticks and ate slowly, barely managing to eat.

Although Feng Zihao was happy that Li Yaxi was eating, seeing her pale face after hearing Zhou Yang's mockery and her silent, listless manner as she ate, the poor Feng Zihao felt a pang of heartache. He gave Zhou Yang a cold glare, and seeing the icy, warning look in Feng Zihao's eyes, Zhou Yang's heart skipped a beat, and his hand holding the chopsticks trembled involuntarily. His hatred for Li Yaxi deepened even further.

They ate most of the rice they had, albeit slowly. The other two silently watched the scene unfold. They clearly felt Feng Zihao's anger towards Zhou Yang in that instant, and both of them simultaneously thought: Feng Zihao was serious this time. Both out of respect for their brother and to avoid offending him in the future, they planned to cultivate a good relationship with Li Yaxi. Zhan Xiaoyu and Zhao Yi, you two are truly remarkable!

Evening training was simple: a short standing drill, then sitting in rows on small stools to sing a song, followed by a shower and bedtime in their respective dormitories. Eager to get to bed quickly, the group huddled together in the shower room like dumplings in boiling water. Li Yaxi really didn't want to shower outside; he just wanted to find a chance to sneak into his personal space to shower. Unfortunately, Feng Zihao kept staring at him. Although he wasn't staring directly, Li Yaxi could feel Feng Zihao's gaze never leaving him. This was obvious to Li Yaxi, but in this situation, it was truly bothersome. Finally, he had to wait until the end to take a cold shower; he'd rather take a cold shower than be naked in front of others.

As soon as I came out, I saw Feng Zihao standing guard at the door. "Have you showered? There's no one inside."

Feng Zihao knew, of course, that no one was inside. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been deliberately guarding the place, afraid someone might go in. He was simply selfishly trying to prevent others from seeing Li Yaxi's body. Seeing Li Yaxi's damp face, glistening faintly in the moonlight, Feng Zihao felt a surge of desire and his mouth went dry. "Hmm, get some rest."

Li Yaxi nodded and walked towards the dormitory. It wasn't that she didn't want to talk to Feng Zihao more, but she felt increasingly uncomfortable and just wanted to go back and lie down as soon as possible.

Li Yaxi tossed and turned in bed all night, unable to sleep. Feng Zihao, who was next to her, was also wide awake, listening to the sounds of Li Yaxi turning over. This person was so close to him, the person he had been longing for for three years was right next to him. Feng Zihao dared not sleep, afraid that this was a dream.

Li Yaxi felt nauseous and wanted to vomit, her stomach churning and aching. Feeling she couldn't hold it in any longer, and afraid of waking others, she quietly got out of bed and went outside. Before she even reached the sink, an unbearable wave of nausea surged up from her chest. Li Yaxi ran a few steps and, leaning against the edge of the sink, vomited.

He didn't know how much he had vomited; he felt like his stomach was empty and he was still dry heaving. After vomiting and catching his breath for a while, he realized that Feng Zihao was supporting him. Seeing his worried eyes, Li Yaxi smiled weakly, her voice a little hoarse, "I'm fine now. I probably just couldn't get used to the food. I feel much better after throwing up. Why aren't you asleep yet? Did I wake you up?"

Li Yaxi didn't return for a while after getting up, and Feng Zihao was a little worried, so he quietly got up to look for him. He found Li Yaxi vomiting violently by the sink, his body swaying as if he were about to collapse. He rushed over to support him, and seeing his pale face, he felt an indescribable pang of heartache. He truly wanted to take his pain away. "Are you alright? I'll take you to the infirmary."

Li Yaxi waved her hand, rinsed her mouth, and prepared to walk back to her dormitory. "I'm really fine, I feel much better after throwing up. Let's go back to sleep, it's late, and I'm so tired."

Feng Zihao quickly went to help him up. Seeing that he had indeed regained some color, and knowing that some people's bodies couldn't handle the high-intensity training and that vomiting was a natural phenomenon that would be fine with rest, he didn't force him. He helped him back to the dormitory, and seeing that Li Yaxi had stopped tossing and turning in bed, Feng Zihao felt relieved and slowly fell asleep. Although Li Yaxi didn't want to vomit anymore, his stomach was getting increasingly painful, but at least he could still bear it. So Li Yaxi lay in bed without daring to move, until dawn, when he finally managed to doze off for a bit.
