Shen Hui carried enough food for Mr. and Mrs. Shen to go to the hospital.
In the ward, he met his mother whom he had not seen for many years.
When she left home, Old Mrs. Shen had a head of black hair as black as ink.
Now, Old Mrs. Shen has white hair, sunken eye sockets, and skin covered with wrinkles like old tree bark.
Although she still has a temperament that others don't have, it is not as good as before.
Before Shen Hui could speak, Old Lady Shen came up.

After they finished eating, he put the two lunch boxes away.
"I'm going back first!"

Shen Hui stopped and looked at her.
"You...really married to Zhang Xiulan?" Old Lady Shen looked at Shen Hui and asked in a low voice.
"You want to see the marriage certificate?" Shen Hui's tone was a little unfriendly.
Old Mrs. Shen also felt her son's hostility.
A bitter smile appeared on the corner of his mouth. "I'm so old now. I can't lock you up like I did back then and prevent you from looking for Zhang Xiulan. You are freer than anyone else now!"
If Old Lady Shen hadn't mentioned it, Shen Hui wouldn't have been able to remember that his own mother had treated him like an animal and locked him up. He had nothing except three meals a day and a toilet.

"I heard from your dad that you and Zhang Xiulan have a daughter? She came to pick me up today, was it her?"
