Chapter 13: Alchemy Room

As soon as the words fell, the rules of heaven and earth descended, covering An Ran and An Yu, and the oath was fulfilled.

An Ran then said to An Yu, "Brother, I read in a book that every magician has a natal pet. When a person and a pet are in close proximity, they are attracted to each other and then find each other. A natal pet is everyone's most loyal companion.

Do you remember how strange I felt in front of that magic egg stall? That was because of the connection between me and it. The egg we brought back today wasn't just any magic egg; it was my natal pet.

An Yu's eyes widened in surprise. "What a coincidence! That's great! Ranran, what's your pet?"

An Ran shook her head and said, "It just hatched, and I don't know what it is. It looks like a descendant of a phoenix. I named it Xiaohuo." As she spoke, An Ran thought of the cute little phoenix and smiled slightly.

Then, An Ran said seriously, "Brother, it's not that I want to do this, but this matter is too important. I'm afraid that if others find out, I won't be able to live in peace."

An Yu nodded and said to An Ran cautiously, "Ran Ran, you are right to do this. If others knew that your pet beast is a descendant of the Phoenix, you would be in danger of death, and our family would probably be affected as well.

Don't let your beast show up. When I come back from vacation, I'll bring you a slightly more ordinary beast. Remember, don't tell anyone about this."

An Ran smiled and nodded, then raised her smiling face and said to An Yu: "Brother, I know. I only told you because you are my brother. I didn't plan to tell my parents because I was afraid they would worry if they knew."

An Yu touched An Ran's head lovingly, then took An Ran towards Lianheyuan.

After dinner, An Ran and An Yu went to the martial arts training ground and practiced ancient martial arts for an hour. Then An Ran told An Yu that she was going back to read the book on medicinal materials she had bought, leaving An Yu alone to practice those ancient martial arts moves.

After Anran returned to Youran Pavilion, she sat in front of the study and opened the "Vast Herbal Encyclopedia".

More than an hour passed, and the book had been almost completely read. Thanks to her good memory, An Ran discovered that there were many more medicinal herbs in this world than in her previous life. Almost all the medicinal herbs in her previous life were available here, and their medicinal properties were similar. However, there were many more precious herbs in this world, and the effects were so powerful that people could not bear to look at them directly.

After reading it, An Ran put the book into her space, planning to finish her practice tomorrow and then go dig some herbs to see what the book said was effective.

Early the next morning, An Ran asked An Yu to take a small backpack to climb the mountain. An Yu thought his sister wanted to dig some flowers and plants to plant at home, so he didn't ask anything.

After finishing the training, An Ran did not follow An Yu down the mountain along the main road. Instead, she took An Yu to the nearby forest.

Although An Yu didn't know what An Ran was going to do, based on the first principle of doting on his sister, which was to listen to her unconditionally, he followed An Ran into the forest.

As soon as An Ran entered the forest, she began to look around. An Yu followed An Ran like a follower all the way.

Suddenly, An Ran saw some Bletilla striata growing under a tree not far to her left. She hurried over, carefully parted the small bushes around it, pulled out the weeds, and then called An Yu to come over.

An Yu came over and saw the grass that An Ran was going to dig. He couldn't help rolling his eyes and said to An Ran, "Ran Ran, I'm not saying anything to you, but even if you want to grow flowers and plants, at least find some beautiful ones... This grass... is so beautiful... So beautiful... I have never seen such beautiful grass in my life..." As An Yu was speaking, he saw An Ran staring at him, so he quickly changed his words. After he finished speaking, he touched his head with a dry laugh.

An Ran was almost amused by An Yu's exaggerated tone. She laughed so hard that tears almost came out. It was rare to see An Yu like this.

An Ran smiled and said to An Yu, "Brother, this herb is called Baiji. It has the effect of astringing and stopping bleeding, reducing swelling and promoting tissue regeneration. I'll dig some up and take it home, then dry it. I'll let you take it with you when you go to school. You can also use it if someone at home is sick."

An Yu looked at his sister as if she were a monster. He patted An Ran's head and said to her, "Ran Ran, you don't have a fever. It's not like I can't afford to buy pills. Why do I have to bring these herbs? Although our family is not rich, we can still afford pills."

An Ran glared at An Yu angrily, waved away An Yu's hand that was placed on her forehead, and said, "I know! But generally, minor wounds can't use pills. Waiting for the wound to heal on its own takes too long. This herb can speed up the healing process."

An Yu looked at his little bully sister, nodded involuntarily under An Ran's coercion, then took out the small shovel from his backpack and handed it to An Ran.

Only when the backpack was almost full did An Ran and An Yu go down the mountain and go home.

After arriving home, An Ran washed up and hurried into the space. She remembered that her master had left behind more than two hundred bottles of pills. She only went to see them once and had not looked at them again since then.

When Xiao Ai saw An Ran come in, she said to her happily, "Sister, you're here. Xiao Huo has finished eating Eggshell and has fallen asleep. She'll be able to communicate with you when she wakes up."

An Ran looked at Xiao Ai in surprise, followed Xiao Ai into the bamboo house, and saw Xiao Ai put Xiao Huo directly on her bed. The corners of her mouth couldn't help but twitch.

After checking on Xiaohuo's condition, he hurried to the medicine room.

After entering the medicine room, An Ran carefully looked at the layout of the room.

One side of the house should be where the herbs are placed, and the side near the door is where the pills are placed.

There is a large alchemy furnace at the entrance of the room. The furnace looks like it has some design. The furnace body is made of black gold and is engraved with the pattern of two phoenixes reborn from the ashes. There are ten dragon heads evenly distributed around the top of the furnace, and the furnace feet and handles are engraved with exquisite and simple patterns.

After An Ran looked at the alchemy furnace, she walked to the shelf where the pills were placed and looked carefully at what pills were there.

An Ran walked into the shelf and picked up a small bottle, and found a few words written in a flamboyant style on the bottle: First-grade Mind-Concentrating Pill.

An Ran opened the bottle and looked inside. She found five pills inside. She took them out and looked at them. The pills were round and smooth, with a bright color and a faint fragrance. She knew at a glance that they were top-grade pills. Then she picked up another bottle and read the words on it:

First-grade power-accumulating pill...

First-grade Qi-restoring Pill...

First-grade Qi-boosting Pill...

Second-grade meridian-protecting pill...

Second-grade Qi and Blood Pill...

Second-grade Qi-nourishing Pill

Third-grade Ice Heart Pill...

Third Rank…
