Chapter 29 Return to the City

Uncle Li knew An Ran had gone to Jun Zichen for treatment. Seeing Jun Zichen looking much better than before, he was surprised: Could this kid really cure his young master?! Thinking of this, he couldn't help but feel happy. The gloom on his face from being scolded by Jun Zichen disappeared, and his whole face was covered with a faint smile.

When he heard Jun Zichen's order to drive back to Xinghu City, he immediately asked the guards to pack up their things, and also packed up An Ran's things and loaded them into the car, and drove back to Xinghu City.

On the central street of Xinghu City, in the Zhaixing Pavilion in the backyard of Yinkuang Inn, there is a luxurious carriage parked. It is pulled by a snow-horned Pegasus horse and the carriage is made of golden nanmu wood. The carriage has been parked there for half an hour, and no one in the carriage seems to want to get off.

The owner of Yinkuang Inn has been standing respectfully by the side since the carriage came in, not daring to make a sound.

In the carriage, Jun Zichen looked at An Ran's defenseless sleeping face, and couldn't help feeling sour in his heart: Silly girl, if this was someone else's carriage, would you fall asleep like this? But he still couldn't bear to wake An Ran up.

About half an hour later, it was almost dusk when An Ran woke up slowly. When she opened her eyes, she saw Jun Zichen with a faint smile on his lips, looking at her leisurely.

An Ran woke up immediately, rubbed her eyes with both hands, and asked Jun Zichen with a yawn: "How long have I slept? Have we arrived in Xinghu City yet?"

Jun Zichen smiled and nodded, handing An Ran a glass of juice. There was a doting look in his eyes that he himself didn't even notice. He said to An Ran with a hint of joking, "You only slept for four hours. It's almost two hours already, and everyone has been waiting for you to wake up."

An Ran took the juice and drank it. As she listened to Jun Zichen's words, her eyes widened in surprise, her face filled with disbelief. "We've arrived in almost two hours?! The Snowhorn Pegasus is incredibly fast. It would take me two days to walk here."

Jun Zichen had been admiring An Ran's expression. He kindly reminded her, "Can we go down now?"

Hearing this, An Ran suddenly remembered that everyone had already arrived and was just waiting for her to wake up. Her cheeks couldn't help but turn slightly red, and she couldn't help but complain to Jun Zichen: "Why didn't you wake me up? Didn't you agree to wake me up when we got to Xinghu City?"

Jun Zichen looked at An Ran's shy face and couldn't help but stare at her in a daze. When he heard An Ran's complaints, he wanted to tease her and said to her with some resentment, "I called you, but I couldn't wake you up. How could you sleep so soundly?"

An Ran's face turned even redder when she heard that. She glared at Jun Zichen fiercely, woke him up, and jumped off the carriage.

Jun Zichen looked at An Ran's childish actions and couldn't help laughing. He also got off the carriage with An Ran.

The shopkeeper standing beside the carriage saw Jun Zichen get off the carriage and hurriedly stepped forward to salute respectfully: "Master!"

"Yeah." Jun Zichen glanced at the shopkeeper indifferently, nodded, walked past him indifferently and entered the Zhaixing Pavilion.

In the Zhaixing Pavilion, An Ran was directing Xiao Ai to put away her things. Seeing Jun Zichen walk into the yard, she quickly handed him a piece of paper: "Here, this is the medicine you need to take for the next few days. Ask someone to boil it for you later. Remember to boil three bowls of water into one bowl, and simmer it over low heat. The precautions are all written on the paper."

Jun Zichen looked at An Ran with some doubt, and asked An Ran with a little disappointment: "Why? Aren't you going to live with us?"

An Ran looked at Jun Zichen and said to him seriously, "Your illness can be cured by one third today. The next acupuncture treatment will be in three days. Just take the medicine well during these three days. I will come back in three days."

Jun Zichen looked at An Ran's businesslike manner, and the smile on his face immediately disappeared. He took the paper and found a place to sit down. He asked An Ran calmly: "Didn't you say you wanted a medicinal bath? Are you so irresponsible to me?"

An Ran rolled her eyes speechlessly. What did this have to do with being irresponsible? But she still patiently explained to Jun Zichen, "The medicinal bath can only be used after the toxins are almost eliminated. For now, all you need is the medicine and acupuncture. Take the medicine well these few days, and I'll come to see you in three days."

Seeing that there was no way to keep her, Jun Zichen stopped talking, so as to avoid letting An Ran notice something.

An Ran looked at Jun Zichen in silence, not knowing what to say. Gradually, a slightly awkward atmosphere filled the entire hall.

"Sister, now that we're done packing, when are we going home?"

Just when An Ran was about to be unable to bear this strange atmosphere, Xiao Ai's voice rang out like the sound of nature.

An Ran felt that she had never loved Xiao Ai so much. She quickly said "goodbye" to Jun Zichen and ran out.

Walking out of the house, An Ran felt that the whole world was bright, the sun was shining, and the birds were singing softly. It felt so wonderful! An Ran saw Xiao Ai packed up her things and walked out of the inn with Xiao Ai.

In the room, Jun Zichen felt a little irritated. Whenever he thought of An Ran's hurried departure, he felt depressed.

He was just thinking about asking An Ran something when he saw An Ran carrying a small bag and taking Xiao Ai out of the yard.

The dark clouds in Jun Zichen's eyes grew even darker. He snapped his fingers, and a black figure suddenly appeared silently in the air. "Master, what are your instructions?"

Jun Zichen looked at An Ran's departing figure and said to the shadow, "Meiying, find someone to follow her and find out which family she is from. Remember, don't get discovered!"

The Phantom nodded and disappeared into the air.

Jun Zichen looked at An Ran's departing figure, with a devilish smile on his lips: "An Yu Ran, I want to know who you are!"

An Ran didn't realize that she was being followed since she left the inn. When she was almost at the door of her home, she found a secluded alley, put Xiao Ai into the space, and then ran happily towards home.

The guard at the door saw a young man running towards the An family and shouted, "Who is it?!"

An Ran raised her head, looked at the guards at the door, and said to them with a smile, "It's me. I haven't been back for a few months, and you don't recognize me?"

The guard at the door also recognized that it was his eldest daughter, and hurriedly opened the door, happily shouting to the maid inside: "Hurry up and report to the master and the mistress, the eldest daughter is back!"

Not until An Ran's figure completely disappeared into the An Mansion did the shadow following An Ran appear among the treetops. It took a look at the plaque of the An Mansion and then disappeared again.

In the An Mansion, An Changcheng and He Yun heard the maid coming to report that An Ran had returned, and they hurriedly walked towards the door happily, and did not forget to instruct the maid to tell the kitchen to make a few more dishes that An Ran liked today.
