Chapter 7 The Beginning of Cultivation

An Yu brought An Ran back to the An family's location. An Ran smiled and threw herself into He Yun's arms, saying, "Father and Mother, I have a fifth-level talent in wood magic and a fifth-level mental strength. I can become a magician in the future. Are you happy?"

He Yun smiled and nodded, saying, "That's right, now we have two magicians in our family! Ranran is great, you should practice magic well in the future and don't sleep in anymore."

An Ran curled her lips and said, "Mother just knows how to make fun of me!" Then she turned around and saw her father talking to her brother with dissatisfaction. She puffed her lips and said to An Changcheng, who was questioning An Yu, "Father, I'm the protagonist today. Why don't you pay attention to me for a moment? Why don't you ask me a question?"

An Changcheng laughed heartily and said, "Is Ranran angry? Don't be angry, be good. Your mother and I have already heard it. Our Ranran is great and will become a magician in the future. Although his talent and mental strength are not high, he is very good at wood element and can communicate with plants. In the future, our Ranran will not have to worry about not being able to keep the flowers and plants alive!"

An Ran clenched her fists, and couldn't help but blush as she recalled her life growing flowers and plants. Burying her face in He Yun's arms, she said aggrievedly, "You're a bunch of bad guys, all you know is to expose my past."

After saying this, An Changcheng, An Yu and the others burst into laughter. He Yun patted An Ran's head soothingly and said, "Now that Ran Ran has practiced magic, he won't be worried about not being able to keep the flowers and plants alive anymore."

Hearing this, An Ran looked at her father and brother who were still laughing, and said to He Yun, "Mother, let's go back. I want to start practicing magic. After I grow the flowers, I will give one pot to each of my father and brother. When they see the flowers, they will think of me!"

Hearing this, An Yu raised his eyebrows and said to An Ran, "Brother, I'm waiting. Little sister, please raise it quickly. I was thinking of taking it with me when I go to college."

As they spoke, several people walked towards where their car was parked.

After a while, they returned to the An Mansion. Butler Zhong Bo met them at the door. When they got off the carriage, they saw Zhong Bo pacing anxiously at the door. An Changcheng and He Yun smiled at each other, and then An Yu excitedly said to Zhong Bo: "Grandpa Butler, Ranran will be a magician too in the future."

Uncle Zhong nodded with satisfaction and said, "Thanks to our ancestors' blessing, the An family now has another magician. The old man's spirit in heaven would also be very happy."

As he walked towards the house with a few people, An Changcheng said to Uncle Zhong after entering the house, "Uncle Zhong, Ranran did very well on the test today. Let's have a banquet at home to celebrate and give extra meals to the guards and maids as well!"

Uncle Zhong sighed happily, turned around and went out to give instructions on this matter.

After Uncle Zhong left, An Changcheng looked at An Ran, nodded, and said, "Ran Ran is tired from the test today. Yu'er, take your sister back to rest."

After An Yu sent An Ran back home, An Changcheng and He Yun sat in the house. An Changcheng held He Yun's hand and said, "Madam, thank you for giving me two such wonderful children. For so many years, there has been no magician in our An family for generations. I have always hoped that this situation would end among my children, but I never dared to imagine that both of my children would be magicians. Thank you, madam."

He Yun glared at An Changcheng and said, "You can imagine as you please now. Our children can all practice magic now."

An Changcheng thought about it and laughed: "That's right, in the future both of my children will be magicians." As he spoke, he seemed to think of something else and sighed...

He Yun looked at An Changcheng in confusion and asked him, "What's wrong? Isn't this all good? Why are you sighing?"

An Changcheng looked at He Yun and said, "I always think that it would be better if Yu'er and Ranran's magic talents could be changed to offensive ones. This would be better for their future."

He Yun patted An Changcheng's hand soothingly and said, "It's okay. They're doing fine the way they are now. If a talented child appeared in our family, we wouldn't know how much we would worry about them growing up."

An Changcheng thought about it and let it go.

In the evening, Anchang celebrated the fact that Anran was also a magician, and ordered a dinner to be held at home for the whole family to celebrate together.

After the dinner, the mansion became quiet.

After An Ran returned to Youran Pavilion, she entered the space. Xiao Ai saw An Ran enter the space and ran towards her excitedly, saying to her as if to invite her to a prize, "Sister, did I do well today?"

An Ran nodded and said, "Xiao Ai did a great job today."

Then An Ran took Xiao Ai into the bamboo house and slowly browsed through the scroll left by the master.

After a long while, An Ran stopped reading and asked Xiao Ai, "Xiao Ai, Master said that only when you have a solid foundation can you achieve twice the result with half the effort in your practice. He asked me to lay a solid foundation first. You've always said that the scrolls Master left behind are for nourishing the tendons and veins and increasing the body's affinity for magic. Now, spiritual energy isn't very useful for nourishing my tendons and veins. I think my father will let me start practicing magic tomorrow."

Xiao Ai nodded and said, "Sister, yes, your foundation is now very solid, but your body is not strong enough. Most magicians are too weak, so they are too easily knocked down in close combat. You need to exercise and strengthen your physique."

An Ran stared up at the sky in silence. In her previous life, she studied medicine. Old Master An had given her all sorts of bizarre reasons, like climbing mountains requires a strong physique, and doctors should heal the dying and the wounded, fighting the strong and supporting the weak. He had asked her to become a disciple of the head of the ancient martial arts family, the Gu family. In her previous life, she had been practicing constantly, getting up before dawn every day for morning exercises. She hadn't expected to have to do morning exercises again in this new world. Sigh...

Early the next morning, An Changcheng came to find An Ran and took her to the library. An Ran was puzzled. She had been in this place for more than a year and had never seen any martial arts. Why did her father bring her here?

An Changcheng ignored An Ran's puzzled look, moved around on a bookshelf, and found a secret cabinet. An Changcheng took out the books in the secret cabinet and sat on the stool behind the desk.

Seeing An Changcheng sitting down and waving at her, An Ran ran over to him. An Changcheng took out a book and handed it to An Ran, saying, "This book is about wood-type exercises, which is just right for you. You must practice well in the future. Your mother and I won't come looking for you. You should practice well on your own. If you encounter any problems, go find your brother."

An Ran was surprised: "Brother is a water magician, can I find him?"
