4. Chapter 4 is true

Su Wenyue responded like this without looking angry, and Han Yang breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, the fourth daughter-in-law was sensible and generous, and did not argue with the eldest daughter-in-law, otherwise there would have been a big fight. The look she gave Su Wenyue became more satisfied and kind.

"Fourth daughter-in-law, sit still and don't move." Han Yang said while holding Su Wenyue, then looked at the other three daughters-in-law.

"Are you all lazy? The fourth daughter-in-law has already prepared breakfast, but you still want someone to serve you. I, as the mother-in-law, haven't even asked her to serve you. You sisters-in-law are really good at being so arrogant to your brother's wife. I, as the mother-in-law, haven't even asked her to serve you. You are so shameless. Why don't you get back to work!"

Han Yang's words were completely directed at Liu. The other two daughters-in-law were merely affected. However, even if they felt aggrieved, there was nothing they could do. After all, it was their mother-in-law, Han Yang, who said this. Even if it was excessive, the daughters-in-law had to bear it.

"Mom, this isn't a good idea. I'm really not tired." Su Wenyue said quickly. Although she wanted to behave well in front of her mother-in-law, she didn't want to offend several sisters-in-law on the first day. And although she didn't like her eldest and third sisters-in-law, her second sister-in-law was a good person, honest and hardworking.

"What's wrong with that? You just consummated your marriage with the fourth brother yesterday, so you must be tired. I'm an experienced person, so I know that. Just sit still and don't torture yourself anymore."

Han Yang said without a doubt that she was a little vain. Her daughter-in-law was so pretty and elegant, and she looked like a fairy in a painting. It would be such an honor to take her out. Moreover, Han Yang was really reluctant to let Su Wenyue do such rough work and raise her like a fool. She had promised her in-laws at the beginning that she would take good care of her after she was brought home and she would not have to do farm work at home.

"Yes, fourth sister-in-law, you just take a rest. Leave these things to us. You are such a beautiful person, you should be taken good care of. The sisters-in-law can do the rough work." The second son's wife, Li, said with a smile. She was an honest and simple person. She was not angry when scolded by her mother-in-law. Instead, she had the same ideas as her mother-in-law. She felt that a pretty girl like the fourth son's wife would not be able to do the rough work in the kitchen. So she took over the remaining work and cleaned up the kitchen.

When Liu and the third daughter-in-law Wang heard Li's stupid words, they glared at her fiercely. This fool is hopelessly stupid. They are both daughters-in-law, so who is more noble than the other? Saying such words simply puts others down, and the fourth daughter-in-law is so proud.

Although Liu and Wang thought so, they did not dare to say anything more. At home, their mother-in-law Yang was the authority, and even Liu could only pretend to obey her and say a few words in secret. Now that her mother-in-law was angry, how could she dare to talk back and could only do her job honestly.

The third daughter-in-law is even worse. She is a person who hides a sharp edge behind her smile. She always appears to be obedient to her mother-in-law and is very kind to her sisters-in-law. She is a model of a good daughter-in-law. Even if she is unhappy or unwilling in her heart, she will only instigate others behind their backs. She is usually liked by Yang. Such a person is much more difficult to deal with than Liu and needs to be guarded against more carefully.

The Han family was just an ordinary farm family, and there were no specific rules for eating. The whole family did not need to sit at separate tables, and all sat together at one big table.

However, the atmosphere during this breakfast was very strange. Since Yang was so protective of Su Wenyue in the kitchen, she would naturally not let this delicate little daughter-in-law set the rules during the meal. The grown men did not think it was a big deal. They felt that since the couple was willing to marry such a good daughter, they should treat her well. This made the eldest and third daughters-in-law feel even more uncomfortable. They had gloomy faces during the meal. Seeing them like this, the second daughter-in-law just buried her head in her food.

After the meal, there was a tea ceremony. Su Wenyue served tea to her parents-in-law and kowtowed. She received two big red envelopes. The red envelopes were quite heavy, which showed that they valued her very much. Although it might be more because of her family background, it did not matter.

Su Wenyue accepted the red envelope and also took out two pairs of new shoes and new insoles to honor her parents-in-law. This is an unwritten rule when a bride offers tea. Before getting married, a new daughter-in-law must make new shoes and insoles for her parents-in-law by herself to honor them. Although Su Wenyue was good at needlework in her previous life, she disdained to do such things to please her parents-in-law. So Su's mother asked the maid to prepare these for Su Wenyue, so as to prevent her daughter from being impolite. However, even though Su's mother prepared them for her daughter, Su Wenyue still put them in the bottom of the box and never took them out. Why did she want her to please a country old man and an old woman!

Doing it again, due to time constraints, Su Wenyue didn't have time to make it herself, so she had to take out the ready-made ones that had been prepared in the box early in the morning. Because they were carefully prepared by Su's mother for her, both the fabric and the needlework were the best. But Su's mother loved her daughter so much that she overlooked one point. Su Wenyue in her previous life didn't have such good craftsmanship, so it would be easy to be exposed.

"Dad, Mom, this is a token of my daughter-in-law's love. I hope you won't despise it."

"Oh, good, good, how can I reject such a good thing? The embroidery is great. My dear, you have a very skillful hand. It is a blessing for my fourth son to marry you."

Old Man Han and Yang were of course delighted to accept them. They had never worn such decent shoes and insoles in their lives. They looked like the ones worn by rich people. They were so reluctant to put them down that they could not bear to wear them. Yang thought about putting them in a box and taking them out to look at them from time to time. Old Man Han, on the other hand, was thinking about wearing them out to show off in the village.

Liu and Wang, who had originally had gloomy faces, now looked even uglier. Wang's eyes rolled around as if she had thought of something, and a malicious smile appeared at the corner of her mouth. She tugged at Liu's sleeve, walked past Li, and whispered in Liu's ear.

"Sister-in-law, look at how father and mother are, they are obviously coaxed by the fourth son's wife. I heard that the fourth son's wife was spoiled when she was at her parents' home, and she can't do anything. She is just an embroidered pillow that looks good on the surface but can't do anything inside. How can she do such good needlework? It is probably done by the embroiderer or maid at home. But she is so clever that she uses the things made by the servants to please father and mother, and she treats us as fools."

Liu originally wanted to find fault with Su Wenyue, but she didn't dare to make trouble in front of everyone, not to mention that she had just been warned by her mother-in-law, so she sat there quietly without saying a word. When she heard Wang's words, her eyes lit up: "You are telling the truth, the fourth son's wife can't do this, right?"
