Chapter 346 Courtyard
No matter how smart Ye Qian was, she couldn't figure out Boss Zhang's intentions. But she could still tell that he was trying to drive her away.
Ye Qian didn't need the money to begin with, and now was the perfect time for her to focus on her own business. As for furniture, she only knew of this particular factory and didn't know if there were any other in Beijing. She could only ask Wang Qiong and Fu Shan when she met them.
Ye Qian got on the car and went home. It was already past 1pm when she got home. Aunt Lan saw that Ye Qian looked tired and asked, "Have you had lunch?"
"I have no appetite. I'm going to sleep for a while." The car was too bumpy, and it made my stomach feel uncomfortable. I really couldn't eat.
Ye Qian slept until the afternoon. When she woke up, she saw Gu Jinyan watching her. Seeing that Ye Qian had woken up, she asked, "Auntie Lan said you were not feeling well. What's wrong?"
Ye Qian shook her head: "Didn't the furniture factory move? I was a little uncomfortable riding the bus back and forth."
"Are you feeling better now?"
"Okay." He was indeed okay. Now he felt very hungry: "Is it time for dinner?"
"It's getting dark." Seeing Ye Qian about to get out of bed, Gu Jinyan handed her a pair of slippers.
Ye Qian didn't believe it, "I felt like I wasn't asleep, so how come it's dark?" She put on her slippers, walked to the window and looked outside, only to find that it was indeed dark.
"Let's go eat. I'm craving some stewed vegetables."
"Let's go."
At this time, the children were watching the fish in the small pond, some of them drooling. Ningning asked, "Brother, when will Mommy get up? I..." Ningning swallowed and then said, "I'm a little greedy."
Ranran glanced at Ningning and said, "It's almost dark. Didn't you just eat a corn this afternoon? It hasn't been long."
Xixi was also staring at the fish. After hearing Ranran's words, she nodded. Indeed, it had only been a short while since they had finished eating the corn, although she was also hungry.
While the three children were talking, Ye Qian and Gu Jinyan came out. The three children heard the footsteps and turned around to see that Ye Qian had gotten up. They stood up and ran towards Ye Fu, "Mom, it's time for dinner."
"Okay, let's go have a feast."
"I'm so hungry now, I can eat a whole cow." Ningning said exaggeratedly.
"What?" Ranran was incredulous. "Don't lie like that. Do you know how big a cow is? And you ate a whole cow."
Ning Ning had no idea how big a cow was, but he knew he could eat a whole plate of beef by himself, so he said, "Last time I ate the whole plate of beef by myself, and I ate a lot."
"How much beef can there be on that plate? How big is a cow? Compare...compare..." Ranran looked left and right, then saw Gu Jinyan, and said, "It's bigger than Daddy's."
"Ha...ha..." Ye Qian burst out laughing. Laughing, Ye Qian turned to look at Gu Jinyan. Seeing Gu Jinyan's serious face, her laughter stopped abruptly. She turned to Ranran and said seriously, "How can you describe it like that? Can you compare Dad to a cow?"
Then she couldn't help but burst out laughing again: "Ha...ha..." Then, after Gu Jinyan pinched the back of her neck, Ye Qian's laughter stopped again. Ye Qian begged for mercy, but Gu Jinyan pretended not to hear. Then he turned to the children behind him and said, "If you dare to say that again, you will suffer the same consequences as your mother."
Sure enough, the children were frightened when they heard Gu Jinyan's words, and they all said, "I told you, humans can't be described like this."
Seeing the children's positive attitude in admitting their mistakes, Gu Jinyan explained, "Cows are very big. The amount of beef you eat outside is only 1/100 of the cow's body, so just imagine how big it is."
The children did think about what Gu Jinyan said, and then gathered together: "Wow, it's so big."
Gu Jinyan nodded, not caring whether the children really understood or not, let go of Ye Qian's neck, and took the family out for dinner.
The next day.
Ye Qian took the children to a nearby department store. She could take everything out of her space, but not children's clothing. Children grow fast, and the three children were wearing last year's clothes, which were a bit too small. She took the children to buy some ready-made clothes while she had time.
The department store only had a few styles, and after searching for a while, Ye Qian didn't like any of them, so she let the children choose for themselves. Sure enough, after hearing what Ye Qian said, they all excitedly stepped forward to choose for themselves. However, Ye Qian had already cultivated her taste, and not only did she dislike the clothes in the department store, but the children also disliked them. After a long time of searching, they still couldn't find anything they liked. They walked over to Ye Qian with some disappointment and said, "Mom, there's nothing I like."
"Then go and look at the fabrics and let Auntie Lan make them for you." Ye Qian said to the three children, and the three children nodded obediently.
They moved to the cloth counter. There were many brightly colored cloths on the counter. Ye Qian chose a pink and lazy color, thinking Xixi would like it. Ye Qian compared it in front of Xixi and said, "Hmm, it looks good. Do you like it, Xixi?"
When Ye Qian took it in her hand, she saw it and saw that Ye Qian had chosen the fabric for her. She said excitedly: "I like it, Xixi likes this."
"Then buy this." Then he turned to his two sons and said, "Do you like it?"
Ranran picked out a light blue one. Ye Qian couldn't believe it. "Do you like this color?"
Ranran nodded, "I like it."
"Okay, I'll take this one too. Where's Ningning?" Ye Qian asked.
Ningning looked at Ranran's fabric and said, "Mom, I like brother's color too."
"Sure, just make the same." The two children are only two years apart in age. Ningning is strong because she eats a lot, and she wears clothes of similar size as Ranran. The two can make the same thing, just like twins.
Ye Qian bought both pieces of cloth, and then bought a piece of light yellow fabric. This light yellow was fresh and beautiful, and it would definitely be good for making clothes. When she got home, she would draw a pattern and ask Aunt Lan to help her make one.
After buying the fabric and some snacks, they went home.
After lunch, Ye Qian was busy. She moved a small chair to the courtyard, took a pen and paper, and began to sketch a design. She had noticed some children wearing skirts while walking down the street the past two days. Xixi, being a girl, would definitely want to wear a skirt, so Ye Qian designed a small skirt for Xixi, similar to the princess dresses of later generations. She also needed some fabric of different colors to piece together, but that didn't matter. She had some old, unused fabric in her space, which would be perfect for the job.
It doesn't matter for boys, the T-shirt on top and the pants on the bottom are all the same color. Two sets of the same look are perfect for two brothers.
After the drawing was finished, it was handed over to Aunt Lan, who started working on it before it got dark. Ye Qian also took over the task of making dinner.
