Chapter 84: Half Full
Just like before, Ye Qian would give herself a day off every Sunday to give her hands a rest.
Stop by the post office to mail letters, collect money, and decorate your new home.
Ye Qian has gone to the post office to withdraw money twice. Not many people can withdraw so much money in this day and age. The people and staff of the post office quickly completed the procedures and deposited the money directly into the passbook.
After finishing all this, Ye Qian went straight to her new home.
When she reached the gate of the courtyard, Ye Qian was very excited. After opening the door, she screamed in her heart. She was so damn happy.
Ye Qian walked into the room and took a good look at every room.
On the first floor, there are clients, kitchen, bathroom and a large room.
On the second floor, there are 3 rooms and a bathroom.
Don’t think that a house with a yard is big in this day and age. Housing is tight nowadays, so where can we find such a big piece of land to build a house for you?
Because there is a living room on the first floor, the room is very small. Ye Qian does not plan to live on the first floor. Anyway, there is a bathroom on the second floor. When Ye Qian bought this room, she was attracted by this point. She already has a bathroom at home, which is convenient.
There are three rooms on the second floor, in different sizes. One is for her to live in, the other is a medium-sized one, which Ye Qian plans to use as a cloakroom, and the other is a smaller one, which Ye Qian plans to use as a warehouse to store some sundries. If this small room belonged to someone else, it would definitely be used for living. But Ye Qian lives alone, and there are not so many people living there, so how can it be spacious?
Ye Qian took out a bucket, mop and broom from the space. There was a little garbage on the ground, which could be swept away, but there was a lot of dust. Ye Qian first filled the bucket with water, sprinkled it all over the house, and then swept the floor to prevent the dust from flying up.
After sweeping the floor, Ye Qian started mopping the floor. Although the place was not big, it was not small either. It took Ye Qian a lot of effort to mop the entire house by herself.
Ye Qian also cleaned the kitchen and bathroom with 84, and finally sprayed alcohol to disinfect.
After finishing all this, it was almost 5 o'clock, and Ye Qian directly made a bowl of instant noodles from the space and started eating.
While eating instant noodles, Ye Qian sat on the sofa and looked at the empty window next to her. She must not forget the curtains. Sometimes she wanted to take something out of her space, but what if someone saw it? Moreover, many things in later life happened because the curtains were not drawn. She must hang the curtains.
While eating, I was looking for the shadow of the curtain in my mind, and finally found it after finishing the instant noodles.
I took out the curtains and started hanging them up. By the time I had hung up all the windows in the house, it was already dark.
When Ye Qian turned on the light, she found that the light bulbs of this era were all yellow. Ye Qian didn't like it. She always felt that the yellow light was not clear. There was also a white light bulb in her space, so she took it out and replaced it. The wattage of this light bulb was also very low, but it was energy-saving and became brighter as it was turned on. Moreover, Ye Qian felt that as long as too many lights were not turned on at the same time, it should not have any impact on the home circuit.
Ye Qian doesn't care what others think, this is what she thinks.
After changing the light bulb, Ye Qian began to arrange the furniture. She put all the furniture that belonged to her father and grandmother into the space, and also put all the old items that she had when she rented the house into the space.
Ye Qian first placed the old table and chairs in the living room. The living room was not very big now, about the same size as the dining room in later generations, so a table was enough.
Ye Qian didn't plan to live in the small room on the first floor, so she put the old sofa in there and placed a coffee table in front of the sofa. Both the sofa and the coffee table were made of wood and had been used for many years. They were already very old. It was no exaggeration to say that they were old. These furniture were much older than the furniture in the scrap yard Ye Qian had visited before.
The sofa was a three-seater, and there was still some space left in the room, but Ye Qian couldn't think of what to put in it for a moment, so she left it empty for the time being and went to the second floor.
Ye Qian first went to the large room where she planned to live. She could see the front yard from the window and the light was very bright.
Ye Qian placed a table by the window, intending to make it into a dressing table. It would be perfect if there was a large mirror in front of it.
On this side of the table, Ye Qian placed two bedside tables and a 1.8-meter bed, and it was almost full. Fortunately, Ye Qian did not plan to put a wardrobe in the room.
Ye Qian went to a medium-sized room and placed two old cabinets in it. Each cabinet was about one meter wide. Ye Qian placed the two cabinets side by side. Those two cabinets were old cabinets from her grandparents. She then placed two shoe racks on the other side and left the room.
Ye Qian walked into the kitchen and looked at the stove with two big holes, feeling a little dazed. Nowadays, people use big pots, but this pot is not in Ye Qian's space. She had seen it in the supply and marketing cooperative when she was in Xiao City before, but she didn't see such a pot for sale in the department store here. It seems that she can only ask others when she goes to work tomorrow.
After Ye Qian made sure that her lights and water were turned off, she took one last look at her home which she had filled up in the middle of the night, then locked the gate and left.
Ye Qian: I’m really reluctant to leave, but there’s no other way. I won’t live here for the time being.
Gu Jinyan had been keeping an eye on the situation across from the window. After hanging the curtains, the light across from the opposite side became white. Gu Jinyan was a little surprised. What was that? Why was it a white light?
There was a figure walking back and forth in the house. Gu Jinyan just watched until the lights were turned off. Then he saw a figure walk out from inside and lock the gate. Gu Jinyan did not leave the window until the people inside left.
Gu Jinyan himself didn't understand why he paid so much attention to a little girl.
After Ye Qian returned to the dormitory, she set the alarm clock and lay down. Then she rubbed her thin arms, her mind still thinking. There was still a lot of empty space in her house, and she wanted to see if there was anything that could be put in it.
I kept thinking like this, but I didn't come up with anything. Instead, I thought myself to sleep.
She didn't wake up until the alarm clock rang the next morning. Fortunately, Ye Qian was well prepared. She knew that she would be tired the next day and would definitely not wake up without setting the alarm clock. At this time, Ye Qian had to give herself a thumbs up.
Ye Qian ran all the way and finally arrived at the office with 2 minutes left.
Li Manyu saw that she was panting for lunch and said, "Why are you running so fast? It's not a big deal if you're a minute or two late."
Ye Qian took a deep breath and replied, "No, that won't work. I live in the dormitory anyway, so how can I be late? Besides, it's only a minute or two. Why bother? I can run over here. I have to be punctual for work."
Xu Yaoyao also replied after hearing Ye Qian's words: "Yes, Ye Qian is right. We must abide by the rules when we go to work. We don't live far away, so we don't care about those few minutes."
This is indeed the case in the union office. No one is late or leaves early. Everyone comes and leaves on time.
Ye Qian nodded to Xu Yaoyao, then turned around and started working.
