Chapter 10 Wang Hu's Grandfather

Wang Hu changed out of his clothes, took a basin, walked to the laundry area, put the clothes in the washing machine, and inserted the coin.

Back in his dorm, Wang Hu grabbed his toiletries and went into the bathroom. He started showering, and with a quick scrub, a patch of dead skin peeled off.

After washing up, Wang Hu looked in the mirror. His face was smoother, and so was his body. His eight-pack abs were clearly defined, like they had been sculpted, and looked incredibly strong. His pectoral muscles were also bulging.

Wang Hu sat on the bed for a while, then went to get the clothes and hung them up to dry. He checked his phone; it was 9:30.

Lying in bed, a wave of drowsiness washed over Wang Hu, so he covered himself with the blanket and fell asleep in no time.

I woke up at two o'clock.

When Wang Hu woke up, he felt completely refreshed, every cell in his body brimming with energy. His steps were light, as if the ground itself had softened, and he felt invigorated, like the first rays of morning sunlight—fresh and bright.

As a result, Wang Hu's memory became exceptionally good; things he couldn't remember before were now as clear as if they were engraved in his mind.

I took out my phone and looked at it, thinking I should call home first.

After Wang Hu's memory improved, he suddenly remembered that it was during this period that the house was rebuilt! It was just the right time to bring his grandfather to his home.

As a result, Grandpa felt that he hadn't contributed much to building the house, so he didn't want to live in the big house and moved to the side room instead.

This turned into a terrible tragedy. The house had no ventilation, and it was freezing cold in November. Grandpa lit a coal stove inside and died of carbon monoxide poisoning. Thinking of this, Wang Hu immediately called home.

"Hey Mom, is our house finished yet?"

"How did you know about the house being built?" In his previous life, Wang Hu didn't know about the house being built; he only found out after his grandfather's accident.

"Of course I heard about it. Is it finished yet?"

"It's finished! We've been living here for several days now!"

"So, has my grandpa been brought to our house?"

"Pick me up today! I've already arrived!"

Wang Hu felt a surge of joy; thankfully, he had made it in time. Had he been a day later, something terrible would have happened. He quickly told his mother, "Make sure to ventilate the house when my grandfather lives there! You can't light a coal stove in a house that's too enclosed."

"How did you know your grandpa needed a coal stove? Your dad went and got it for him."

"Mom, stop him! Sleeping together for one night could lead to something terrible; people could get poisoned."

"Okay, okay, I'll go right away!" Wang Hu's mother hung up the phone.

Ten minutes later, Wang Hu called again: "Mom, how's it going? Did you get the stove out yet?"

"It's a bit cold, and there's no stove."

"You could buy an electric heater, or an electric blanket would also work."

"Okay, I'll have your dad buy it later."

"Okay, Mom, I love you. Bye." Wang Hu hung up the phone, a huge weight lifted from his heart.

Wang Hu went to check the clothes; they were already dry.
