Yu Lili stared intently at the person in front of her and realized it was Wang Hu. Instantly, she seemed to be frozen in place, her mouth agape but unable to utter a sound. Her sharp scream abruptly stopped.
She was breathing heavily, one hand constantly stroking her heaving chest, as if trying to bring her heart, which was about to leap out of her throat, back down.
At this moment, the security guards heard the commotion and rushed over. They looked at the two suspiciously and asked if something had happened. Seeing that the two remained silent and simply shook their heads to indicate that nothing was wrong, the guards turned and left to continue their patrol.
Once the security guard had disappeared from sight, Yu Lili seemed to suddenly come to her senses and walked towards the railing again. The Queen reacted quickly, rushing forward and tightly embracing her slender waist.
"Lili, what are you doing? Tell me what's wrong, don't be impulsive!" Wang Hu shouted anxiously, a layer of fine sweat appearing on his forehead from nervousness.
Yu Lili glared at him and said irritably, "What are you yelling about? My phone accidentally fell down!" As she spoke, she pointed down the railing.
Upon hearing this, Wang Hu quickly leaned over the railing and looked in the direction Yu Lili pointed. Sure enough, he saw a cell phone lying quietly on the steps inside the riverbed.
"Oh dear, even if your phone fell down, you can't just rush down to pick it up like that! It's so deep down there, and the steps are slippery. How are you going to get back up, given your petite stature!"
While scolding Yu Lili, Wang Hu reached out and gently rubbed her head, his eyes filled with worry and longing.
