A dozen minutes later, a crisp cell phone ring broke the silence in the room. Wang Hu glanced at the caller ID; it was Li Jiaoyan calling.
He walked quickly to the gate and saw a petite figure slowly approaching on a small electric scooter.
As Li Jiaoyan approached, Wang Hu greeted her with a smile, briefly explained the situation to the security guard at the gate, and then led her into the residential area. Looking at the slightly worn-out electric scooter in front of him, Wang Hu asked curiously, "Hey, why didn't I see you riding this yesterday?"
Li Jiaoyan rolled her eyes at him and replied irritably, "Who wants to ride an electric bike in the dead of winter! Why didn't you ride it back with you today! Honestly!"
Then, she glared at Wang Hu with her beautiful big eyes and continued to complain with a face full of resentment: "And another thing, you didn't even tell me about such a big thing as moving! I had to take so many detours to find this place!"
Wang Hu scratched his head and explained with a smile, "Hey, it's not that far from where we used to live! And you won't get too tired riding your bike here!"
"Not tired? You make it sound so easy!" Li Jiaoyan retorted angrily. "It's freezing cold here, just sitting in the car with the cold wind blowing is uncomfortable enough!" Before she finished speaking, she couldn't help but shiver again.
Seeing this, Wang Hu quickly comforted him, "Alright, alright, don't be angry. Go back inside quickly, the air conditioning is on, it'll be warm soon!"
"Okay, which building is yours? Point it out to me quickly," Li Jiaoyan urged.
Without a word, Wang Hu nimbly straddled the seat behind Li Jiaoyan, pointed in a certain direction, and gestured for her to start the electric scooter. The instant Li Jiaoyan started the scooter, Wang Hu naturally reached out and gently embraced her slender waist.
Li Jiaoyan blushed slightly, glanced down at the large hands around her waist, and rode straight forward without saying anything!
Wang Hu's action was purely instinctive, and he himself did not expect that his action would not result in any scolding.
While secretly delighted, he immediately had another thought and quickly said, "Let's not rush home. We need to go to the property management office to register first, otherwise it will be troublesome if someone comes to pick you up next time!"
Li Jiaoyan silently responded with an "Oh," and then obediently followed the direction Wang Hu indicated. However, as the journey progressed, she gradually felt that Wang Hu's behavior was becoming increasingly excessive.
The large hand that had been resting on her waist seemed to become restless, slowly moving upwards; while Wang Hu's broad and thick chest pressed tightly against her back, as if he wanted to pull her whole body into his arms.
Finally, Li Jiaoyan could no longer tolerate this ambiguous contact. She slammed on the brakes, bringing the car to a screeching halt. Then, she quickly turned her head, her eyes fixed on Wang Hu, filled with anger and warning.
"Don't go too far, let go!"
Facing Li Jiaoyan's sharp gaze, Wang Hu was completely unaware that his actions had crossed the line. He continued to grin and feign a fierce expression, shamelessly saying, "Hey, don't be so fierce! Who told you to look so much like Huihui? I accidentally mistook you for her! Hehehehe..."
Hearing this, Li Jiaoyan was so angry she almost jumped up and down. She glared at Wang Hu and shouted, "Stop talking nonsense! Get out of the car right now and walk with me!" With that, she crossed her arms and struck a pose that showed she would never compromise.
Seeing her resolute refusal, Wang Hu knew that she would absolutely not give him a ride. Left with no other choice, he decided to walk with her to the property management office. Upon arrival, after completing the necessary registration procedures, they immediately followed her on her way.
To their surprise, when they entered the house, they didn't find Li Jiaohui as expected. Instead, they saw Li Jiaoyan standing in the spacious and bright living room, calling out her name several times. After a short while, Li Jiaohui slowly emerged from the bathroom, carrying a toothbrush cup and a toothbrush in her mouth.
Li Jiaoyan's gaze was immediately drawn to the cup and toothbrush in her younger sister's hand. She couldn't help but ask curiously, "Hey, little sister, why did you choose this time to brush your teeth?"
Li Jiaohui's eyes darted around, and she quickly found a seemingly reasonable excuse, replying, "Wang Hu just insisted that I try that kind of seafood. It tastes really strong! If I don't rinse it off quickly, my mouth will feel strange and uncomfortable!"
After hearing this explanation, Li Jiaoyan nodded thoughtfully, indicating that she understood: "Oh, I see? Okay, you go ahead and brush your teeth, I'll go upstairs and take a look around!" Hearing her sister's response, Li Jiaohui confidently picked up her toothbrush cup and turned back to the bathroom.
At this moment, Wang Hu, who had been standing quietly to the side, immediately approached Li Jiaoyan with a big smile and acted exceptionally attentive: "Sister-in-law, how about I show you around and give you a tour?"
However, recalling what had happened during her bike ride, Li Jiaoyan had developed a strong sense of wariness towards Wang Hu, so she declined without hesitation, saying, "No need to trouble you, I can just look around by myself!" After saying that, she went upstairs on her own.
A hint of disappointment crossed Wang Hu's face. He slowly turned his head, and his gaze immediately met that of Li Jiaohui, who was standing at the bathroom door. Li Jiaohui's beautiful eyes were fixed on him, her gaze seemingly burning with anger.
