Chapter 23 Online Store's Grand Opening

Wang Hu got home after 8 p.m. Meng Zhiyun wasn't home; she was probably at work. He tried calling her, but she didn't answer; she was in a meeting.

I checked the backend on Taobao and saw that I had sold 5 items, earning more than 50 yuan per item. (These sell for over ten yuan on 1688 and seventy or eighty yuan on Wanghu. You've got a good deal on these. These days, only rich people sell them.) It seems the advertising wasn't a waste of money. I quickly replied to a customer's question.

Wang Hu then remembered that he needed to find a customer service representative, otherwise he would be bored to death spending all day in front of the computer.

After answering the questions, three more orders were sold. They definitely needed customer service. Looking at the time, it was already 8:30, so Wang Hu called Meng Zhiyun.

"Hey, Xiao Meng, why are you at work? You're injured and need to rest!"

"I don't feel any pain anymore, don't worry, I know my body. I've made you some food, it's probably cold on the table, just heat it up!"

Wang Hu walked into the living room with a heart full of joy. Seeing the three dishes covered on the dining table and the rice cooker's keep-warm light on, a warm feeling welled up in his heart. He knew that it was unrealistic to ask Meng Zhiyun to come back today; it wasn't in line with her personality.

“I see, dear Xiao Meng, you are truly my angel. But you should still resign. I’ve started a business that needs you. Please come back!” Wang Hu’s tone was full of expectation and earnestness.

Hearing Wang Hu's words on the other end of the phone, Meng Zhiyun hesitated. "No, I've already started work today, how can I quit? Can I quit tomorrow?" Her voice revealed a hint of helplessness.

Wang Hu thought to himself, "I knew it," but there was nothing he could do. "Fine, you must resign tomorrow. When you come back, I'll pay you 5000 yuan a month."

Upon hearing this, Meng Zhiyun assumed he was joking and replied to Wang Hu in a tone as if coaxing a child, "Okay, okay, I'll quit my job tomorrow and go earn your 5,000 yuan a month. I'll hang up now, bye!"

After hanging up the phone, Wang Hu pursed his lips and muttered under his breath, "It's only because you're not feeling well that I'll make you realize your mistake tomorrow. You're treating me like a child!"

He sat down at the table, and the dishes he was presented with were all his favorites: scrambled eggs with tomatoes and stir-fried celery with meat. Wang Hu took a bite.

"My wife's cooking is really good, it smells delicious!"

A gust of wind swept through the air, and Tiger finished washing the pots and pans. He went into his studio, where another customer asked a question. He casually replied with a couple of sentences and sold two more items.

Bored, Wang Hu had nothing to do but dared not leave. He thought of learning English, so he searched for English learning videos online and studied English while replying to customers.

Wang Hu's memory is now incredibly sharp; he can memorize a word after reading it two or three times. He studied until 10 PM, and the number of customers at his online store decreased.

Wang Hu thought it was only 10 o'clock, so he couldn't go to sleep right away. He was about to get dressed and go out when he noticed that his clothes smelled a bit sweaty. He was about to go get a new set when he saw a row of clothes drying on the balcony.

"This Xiao Meng is so virtuous! Who married her in her past life? Probably not that gambling addict. Who cares who it was, it's me in this life." After saying that, he patted his head, went upstairs, took off his clothes, and changed into them.

Wang Hu went downstairs. The weather was clear and cloudless, and the stars in the sky were very clear, twinkling beautifully.

Looking up at the stars, I strolled into the neighborhood. The weather in Ningbo in November was neither too hot nor too cold, and the vegetation was still green. Some of the lights specifically shining on the vegetation looked beautiful.

Wang Hu had just reached a dark spot where the streetlights seemed to be broken when he heard a crying sound. A chill ran down his spine. "Damn it, have I run into something evil?"

Originally, Wang Hu didn't believe in these things, but now that he had been reborn, what was impossible? However, Wang Hu was very bold now. Instead of advancing, he retreated and took a few more steps before seeing a figure. He stared intently and saw a person, whose figure seemed somewhat familiar.

Seeing that it was a person, Wang Hu was not so scared. He quickly walked towards the figure and saw that it was the landlady when he got to her side.

"Sister Hui, what's wrong? Why are you crying here all by yourself?"

Yu Hui's husband came home drunk after get off work today, with lipstick stains on his clothes and face, which made her so angry that she and her husband had a big fight.

She thought her husband would come after her and comfort her after she ran out, but he didn't come after she cried for a long time, so she cried even harder.

After the woman was heartbroken, she wanted to vent to someone, especially since she still had feelings for Wang Hu. She suddenly threw herself at Wang Hu, hugged his neck, and started crying loudly.

Seeing her crying so sadly, Wang Hu supported her bottom with one hand to keep her from falling, and gently stroked her back with the other. He also made soothing sounds like "ooh ooh ooh" to comfort a child.

Yu Hui, who had been crying very sadly, burst out laughing when he comforted her like that. She put one hand on his shoulder and punched his chest a few times.

"Sister Hui, don't cry anymore. Look, my skills are great not only for comforting children, but also for adults." He even nudged Yu Hui's nose with his own.

"Hmph, do you think I'm a child?" Her voice was choked with emotion. After saying that, she hit Wang Hu again, struggled, and tried to get off him.

Wang Hu did not grant her wish. Instead, he hugged her tightly and sat on the bench next to her. Yu Hui sat on his lap, took out a tissue from her pocket, and wiped away the tears on her face.
