Wang Hu drove his cool sedan at breakneck speed toward the car city. He held the steering wheel firmly with one hand, controlling the direction of the vehicle, while the other hand gently supported Liu Jie's bobbing head.
As they approached the car city, when the car was about 500 meters from their destination, Wang Hu gently applied the brakes and brought the car to a smooth stop on the side of the road. The car remained there quietly for a good ten minutes. Finally, Liu Jie got out of the car, her face flushed.
At this moment, Liu Jie had just completed a special task for Wang Hu—cleaning up certain traces and carefully zipping up his pants and tidying his clothes. After doing this, Wang Hu's previously depressed mood seemed to have been somewhat relieved and released.
Liu Jie stood there, watching Wang Hu drive away. As the car disappeared from sight, a sense of loss welled up inside her. Recalling what had happened at the villa, Wang Hu had demanded a divorce, but she knew she had a young son to care for; how could she easily agree? Faced with Wang Hu's perpetually gloomy face, Liu Jie was at her wit's end, finally resorting to the same tactic she'd used to try and quell his anger. Now, thinking back, Liu Jie mused, "He shouldn't be angry with me anymore, right..."
Liu Jie gently shook her head, trying to clear her mind, then turned and walked resolutely towards the car city. Along the way, her feelings remained somewhat complicated, but she forced herself to continue.
As she walked, Liu Jie suddenly spotted a pharmacy not far ahead. For some reason, her pace slowed involuntarily, and she eventually stopped in front of the pharmacy. After a brief moment of thought, Liu Jie took a deep breath and resolutely walked into the pharmacy.
Upon entering the store, Liu Jie went straight to the medicine shelf, her eyes quickly scanning the dazzling array of medications. Soon, she found what she wanted—a box of emergency contraceptive pills called "Shuting." Then, she casually picked up a bottle of mineral water next to it and took both to the cashier to pay.
After paying, Liu Jie eagerly opened the medicine box, took out one of the pills and put it in her mouth. Then she unscrewed the water bottle, tilted her head back and drank a few mouthfuls of water before swallowing the pill.
She had been intimate with Wang Hu so many times today, but they never took any insurance. Although Wang Hu said he would raise the child if she got pregnant, she was still worried. After taking the medicine, she threw the rest into the trash can, and only then did her anxious heart calm down a little.
Liu Jie is now caught in a contradictory and conflicted situation. On the one hand, she finds it hard to give up Wang Hu's wealth and strong physique; on the other hand, she cherishes her original happy family and hopes that her son can grow up healthy, happy and successful.
With these complex and slightly anxious feelings, Liu Jie slowly walked out of the pharmacy, her steps heavy as she began her journey home. Meanwhile, Wang Hu, driving home, also began to reflect on whether his previous actions had been somewhat excessive. He knew in his heart that demanding Liu Jie divorce her husband was primarily out of a desire to get revenge on his despicable former boss.
Recalling his arduous working experience, Wang Hu still feels lingering fear. For six whole months, he endured the daily torment of wind and sun, his body covered in filthy machine oil, only to receive nothing in return. Wang Hu felt nothing but disgust for his obese boss, and didn't even want to know his name.
However, as Wang Hu gradually calmed down, he finally realized that he had completely ignored Liu Jie's true feelings. After all, his deep-seated hatred for his former boss had little to do with Liu Jie. With that thought in mind, Wang Hu quickly pulled the car over to the side of the road and dialed Liu Jie's number.
Just then, Liu Jie, who had just taken her birth control pills, was about to throw away the box containing the medicine when her phone rang. Her heart skipped a beat, and she thought to herself, "Could it be that Wang Hu found out I took birth control pills?" When Wang Hu bought her that villa, the person inside asked if she was willing to have his child, and she excitedly nodded!
Liu Jie pressed the answer button with trembling hands.
Wang Hu's apologetic voice came through the receiver: "Baby, I'm so sorry! I accidentally hurt your hair in the car just now!" His tone was full of pity.
Hearing Wang Hu say this, Liu Jie felt a huge weight lift from her shoulders and breathed a sigh of relief. She quickly replied, "Oh, darling, I'm fine! As long as you're not angry with me, that's all that matters!" As she said this, a faint blush rose on Liu Jie's face, as beautiful and charming as a peach blossom in spring.
For the next while, the two continued their affectionate conversation, occasionally bursting into cheerful laughter, sometimes falling into brief silences, but the warm and sweet atmosphere always lingered in the air. After what seemed like an eternity, they finally ended the call, reluctantly hanging up.
After hanging up the phone, Liu Jie gently tidied her slightly disheveled hair and smoothed out the wrinkles in her beautiful dress. Then, she picked up the bags and purses beside her and walked home with light steps.
It was almost five o'clock. When Liu Jie reached her doorstep, she saw her husband sitting outside, eating from a large bowl. He was chubby, with a round face, and looked quite endearing. However, when he noticed the various packages Liu Jie was carrying, his face darkened, and he muttered a scolding, "Look at you! Why are you wasting money again? We already have plenty of clothes at home, aren't they enough for you?"
