It was almost 2 PM when Wang Hu left Yu Lili's place. After having dinner at a restaurant, he bought a pack of Zhonghua cigarettes and headed straight to the driving school.
When Wang Hu arrived, he quickly pulled a pack of cigarettes from his pocket and respectfully handed it to Coach Hu. Coach Hu happily accepted the pack, a bright smile immediately spreading across his face, as if the pack of cigarettes were an incredibly precious gift.
"Xiao Wang, you're here! It's your turn to practice next, hurry up and get ready," Coach Hu said enthusiastically. However, at that moment, a young man in his early twenties standing to the side suddenly became unhappy. He frowned, his face full of dissatisfaction, and questioned, "Coach Hu, I should be next! Why did it suddenly change to him?"
Faced with the man's questioning, Coach Hu retorted without hesitation, "Why should I? Because I'm the instructor here! If you don't want to continue learning here, you can leave immediately, so as not to waste my time and energy teaching a student like you." After saying this, Coach Hu cursed inwardly, "You've been learning for a whole month, and you still can't even do the simplest reverse parking maneuver. What kind of man is as clumsy as you!"
Hearing Coach Hu's firm stance, the man, though unwilling, dared not say anything more. However, his eyes remained fixed on Wang Hu, revealing a hint of hostility and resentment. Wang Hu, on the other hand, felt somewhat bewildered, muttering to himself, "Why are you staring at me? This isn't something I can decide."
Before long, it was finally Wang Hu's turn to practice in the car. Surprisingly, Wang Hu displayed an astonishing learning ability. Whether it was starting, shifting gears, or parking, he mastered each maneuver almost instantly, showing none of the awkwardness or nervousness typically associated with a beginner. Seeing this, Coach Hu couldn't help but ask curiously, "Wang Hu, you must have driven before, right? Otherwise, how could you perform so well? You don't seem like a complete beginner at all."
"Does driving a tractor back in my hometown count? As for driving a car, that's like a young woman getting married in a sedan chair—it's my first time! But maybe I'm just a quick learner." Wang Hu grinned and joked.
"Hahaha, if it's really like you say, that's great! Then I can start arranging your exam right now. First, let me ask you, how's your study for the first subject going? Are you confident you can pass? If you think you can pass, then I'll register you right away." Hearing Wang Hu claim to have a strong learning ability, the instructor couldn't help but sigh, "God is fair after all. I just encountered a stupid idiot who wouldn't understand no matter how I taught him, and now this bright and clever guy has appeared."
"You can rest assured, Coach! With my super learning ability, how could I possibly do poorly on the test? Not to mention the first subject, I can easily pass the second, third, and fourth subjects as well!" Wang Hu said confidently, patting his chest.
"Alright, since you're so confident, I'll arrange the exam for you in a few days. These next few days, stay home and diligently memorize the key points for the theory test (Subject 1), and try to pass on your first try. I'll let you know as soon as the exam date is confirmed," Coach Hu instructed seriously.
"Alright, Coach Hu, just you wait and see! I definitely won't let you down. Once I pass the exam, I'll treat you to a big meal to properly thank you for your careful guidance during this time!" Wang Hu patted his chest again, making a solemn promise to his coach.
After practicing for half an hour, Wang Hu felt he had completely mastered the skills, and Coach Hu seemed to have nothing more to teach him. He drove the car steadily to the parking spot, a sense of accomplishment welling up inside him.
After getting out of the car, Coach Hu's first words were a stern reprimand to the man from before. "Liu Feng, look at you! And look at him! You've been learning for almost months, and you still can't reverse into a parking space properly! If you can't learn this soon, I'll refund your tuition, and you can leave!" Liu Feng didn't dare utter a word of rebuttal, but his resentment towards Wang Hu grew even stronger. He thought to himself, "I can't afford to offend Coach Hu, but this out-of-towner Wang Hu is learning faster than me! I'll see how I deal with him!"
Wang Hu had already left the driving school and was completely unaware of Liu Feng's resentment. Although he was rich now, he had been penniless in his previous life and didn't care much about his clothes. At this moment, he was only wearing a Guirenniao tracksuit that cost a few hundred yuan, and he did indeed look like a poor loser.
Wang Hu first took a taxi to Fuchun Dormitory. Thinking that he still had a lot of things in the dormitory, he went straight to his luggage after arriving at the dormitory. Many of the quilts were made by his mother and he didn't want to throw them away.
Dragging his luggage, Wang Hu slowly walked out of the Fuchun dormitory area, his heart filled with memories of the past and hopes for the future. Just then, he bumped into Zhang Feng, who was looking at him with a surprised expression.
Zhang Feng's eyes were full of doubt, and she couldn't help but ask, "What are you doing here? Didn't you already rent a place? Why are you carrying so much stuff?"
Wang Hu scratched his head, somewhat embarrassed, and replied, "I didn't tidy up a few days ago, so I came to pick up some of my old things today." He muttered to himself, "What a coincidence that I ran into Zhang Feng."
Zhang Feng frowned as she looked at the large bags and packages beside Wang Hu. "Do you want me to help you deliver them? I just happened to drive over today."
Wang Hu's eyes lit up, and he said in shock, "You have a car? Why didn't you say so before! You always take taxis when you're with me." He was filled with doubt and confusion. Thinking about it, it made sense; how could such a big internet cafe not have a car?
