On New Year's Eve, Wang Hu's house was bustling with activity, packed with people both inside and outside. Many relatives and friends gathered together, sitting around the table, playing cards with great enthusiasm, their laughter echoing throughout the house.
Wang Hu's parents greeted each guest with smiles on their faces, continuously serving plates of melon seeds, candies, and fresh fruit without ever getting tired of it.
In rural areas, it's rare to see a house so lively on New Year's Eve; usually, only those families who are respected and influential in the village can enjoy such treatment. However, Wang Hu himself wasn't particularly interested in this noisy atmosphere.
At four o'clock in the afternoon, after completing the ancestral worship ceremony according to custom, Wang Hu couldn't wait to return home, light a string of loud firecrackers, and then, taking advantage of the lively atmosphere, leisurely strolled out. Before long, he arrived at the village's senior activity center.
Luan Ying, Zhang Haili, and Shi Yan were leisurely playing cards in the activity room. Seeing this, Wang Hu joined in without saying a word, and the four of them flirted and joked, completely at ease.
Just as they were having a great time, suddenly the door to the activity room creaked open and Wang Laosi walked in.
This time, Wang Laosi came specifically to cause trouble for Wang Hu. The incident at the soy sauce factory not only failed to stump Wang Hu, but also allowed him to establish connections with county leaders.
This made Wang Laosi very unhappy, and the more he thought about it, the more resentful he became. So today, he gathered a group of his usual friends who often ate, drank, and had fun together, intending to make things difficult for Wang Hu.
Of course, they didn't intend to start a fight directly, as that would be too risky. After thinking it over, Wang Laosi suddenly had a brilliant idea: he would trick Wang Hu in the same way he had tricked Shi Huihui's husband.
If he could rig the gambling table, he might be able to make a killing! When he told his cronies about this idea, they all littered with excitement at the prospect of profit and started plotting their schemes!
The three women saw him approaching from afar, but acted as if they didn't see him at all, completely ignoring him. These three knew perfectly well that there was a significant conflict between Wang Hu and them, and naturally, they would stand on Wang Hu's side!
Just then, Wang Laosi strolled leisurely behind Wang Hu, his face full of provocation, a slight smirk on his lips, and said in a sarcastic tone, "Hey, little tiger, look at you, a grown man, always fiddling with things that only women like to play with, what kind of behavior is that!"

Wang Hu didn't take this small provocation seriously at all. He ignored the disapproving looks from the three women beside him and replied without hesitation, "Okay! Let's go, where to compete?" Without another word, Wang Hu followed closely behind Wang Laosi and headed towards his house.
Before long, the two arrived at Wang Laosi's house. As soon as they stepped inside, a thick cloud of smoke hit them, making it hard to open their eyes. Looking closer, they saw the house shrouded in mist and smoke, with a group of burly men sitting around a dilapidated wooden table, loudly playing a game of Texas Hold'em!
Wang Hu knew very well that he knew all the notorious gamblers in the village. These guys would immediately rush home to gamble after making some money outside. Once they lost all their money, their homes would be in chaos, with either loud arguments or physical fights between them and their wives.
At this moment, everyone around him was staring intently at Wang Hu, as if he were a piece of meat to be slaughtered. However, Wang Hu only sneered inwardly: Hmph, just wait and see, we'll see who the real meat is later!

After more than a dozen rounds of this back-and-forth, Wang Laosi, who had been constantly being beaten by Wang Hu, finally couldn't help but complain, "Little Tiger, you keep folding, how are we supposed to play like this?"
Upon hearing this, Wang Hu revealed a disdainful expression, then sneered and replied, "First, throw out the card you've been hiding in your sleeve, and then we can continue playing!"
