Around 11 a.m., sunlight streamed through the window and onto the sofa behind the windowsill. Wu Lirong sat there quietly, one hand supporting her chin, her eyes gazing somewhat unfocused out the window, her thoughts already drifting to what had happened not long ago, a blush creeping onto her cheeks.
Especially when she recalled the sweet words Wang Hu had said to her, a ripple of emotion stirred within her. Although she had keenly noticed some flaws in Wang Hu's words at the time—after all, when they first met, Wang Hu was just a callow youth!—for some reason, these minor imperfections did not diminish her current joy.
"Hmph! This little liar is full of nonsense!" Wu Lirong muttered softly, seemingly scolding Wang Hu, but the smile she couldn't hide revealed the joy in her heart.
At this moment, Wu Lirong's heart was filled with a profound sense of satisfaction and happiness. The wonderful feeling that Wang Hu gave her, like flying on clouds, was something she had never experienced with Wang Laosi before. Time passed by, minute by minute, from eleven o'clock to twelve o'clock—a full hour—and Wu Lirong remained completely absorbed in her own world, poking her chin with her finger and a silly smile on her lips.
Just then, a familiar sound of footsteps approached from afar; it was her son returning from his uncle's house. Hearing the sound, Wu Lirong snapped out of her daze, as if suddenly realizing something. She quickly stood up and hurried to the kitchen to prepare lunch.
Meanwhile, as soon as Wang Hu got home, he collapsed onto the bed and fell fast asleep, not even bothering to get up for lunch. No matter how hard Feng Fenfen hit his bottom with a broom handle, he only mumbled sleepily, "I'm so tired, I just want to get some sleep!" before drifting off to sleep again and continuing to dream.
During his long slumber, a tumultuous transformation was unfolding within Wang Hu's seemingly calm body. A mysterious and unpredictable power was undergoing a qualitative leap, surging and crashing through his body like a powerful torrent. Time passed slowly, until exactly four o'clock in the afternoon, when Wang Hu finally slowly opened his eyes.
At that moment, a strong, pungent stench assaulted his nostrils, causing the newly awakened Wang Hu to involuntarily furrow his brow. He looked down at his clothes, only to find that his once pristine white garments were now completely black, covered in a thick layer of black grime. This grime had all come from his own body!
Wang Hu staggered to his feet and walked towards the door. As his hand touched the latch, he merely gave the metal doorknob a slight twist, and with a crisp "snap," the doorknob nearly ripped off. Startled, he quickly withdrew his strength, afraid of further damaging the fragile handle.
Just then, Wang Hu suddenly realized that his body seemed to have undergone another unexpected change. Upon careful recollection, he realized that this change was likely due to the energy he had absorbed from Wu Lirong earlier.
Perhaps it was the continuous influx of energy into his body that enabled him to successfully break through a key threshold, thus triggering a new round of evolution.
Thinking of this, Wang Hu felt a surge of joy, but also a sense of helplessness. After all, such drastic physical changes were quite unexpected.
Fortunately, Lady Luck smiled upon him, and the newly installed solar water heater in his home came in handy at that moment.
Otherwise, given his current foul odor, if he went to a public bathhouse, he would probably be met with a cold rejection and disgust!
In the cramped shower room of the bathroom, Wang Jianguo was wearing three masks and diligently scrubbing Wang Hu's back. His brows were furrowed, and his eyes revealed deep disgust, as if the person standing in front of him was not his own son, but a foul-smelling monster.
Wang Hu felt a pang of pain in his heart as he sensed his father's strange gaze: "Dad! I'm your own son! Would you really despise your own son for smelling bad?"
While vigorously scrubbing the grime off Wang Hu's body, Wang Jianguo said irritably, "It's not that your dad dislikes you, it's just that the smell on you is too overpowering, it's practically an eyesore!" As he spoke, he couldn't help but cough twice, as if trying to expel the pungent odor from his nostrils.
Meanwhile, Feng Fenfen was tidying up the bed Wang Hu had slept on in the next room. The once snow-white sheets and duvet cover were now filthy and covered with all sorts of excrement from Wang Hu, making them look nauseating. Feng Fenfen intended to wash them, but when she got closer, a strong, unpleasant odor hit her nose, almost choking her.
Without the slightest hesitation, Feng Fenfen grabbed the filthy sheets and blankets and threw them into the trash can like garbage. Then, she quickly ran to the window and opened both windows wide to let fresh air rush into the room and dilute the suffocating smell.
When Wang Hu came out of the shower, Feng Fenfen looked at him with the same disdain. Seeing this, Wang Hu felt even more aggrieved. He quickly went to his mother's side and repeated what he had just said to his father: "Mom, why are you looking at me like that? I'm your precious son!"
Faced with Wang Hu's questioning, Feng Fenfen could only shake her head helplessly and sigh, "Going to bed covered in mud, I'm being lenient by not beating you!"
