After the banquet, Wang Hu carefully helped the slightly tipsy Zhang Feng out of the theater, then gentlemanly opened the car door and invited her to get in. The car drove smoothly along the road, the dim yellow light of the streetlights shining through the car window and casting their blurry silhouettes on the two of them.
All the way, Zhang Feng kept muttering, "I really didn't expect that my dad would let you off so easily!" Her tone was a mixture of surprise and doubt.
Hearing this, Wang Hu, sitting in the driver's seat, curled his lips into a smug smile and replied arrogantly, "Of course! Who told me to be so capable! I easily won over your dad!"
It must be admitted that Wang Hu is indeed exceptional. Whether it's earning a living or anything else, he possesses extraordinary abilities. Especially his speed in learning English these past two days, which can only be described as leaps and bounds, is truly remarkable.
However, seeing Wang Hu boasting like this, Zhang Feng could no longer bear it and scolded him, "Hmph, you really know how to brag!"
Upon hearing this, Wang Hu's eyes widened immediately. He turned to stare at Zhang Feng and raised his voice to retort, "How am I bragging? I'm telling the absolute truth!"
Seeing Zhang Feng's face flushed red with anger, Wang Hu slowly lowered his raised hand. He thought to himself, "No, I can't stoop to this little brat's level. I have an appointment with Li Jiaohui this afternoon!"
Thinking of this, Wang Hu took a deep breath and said calmly, "Alright, alright, I won't hold it against you. I have important things to do this afternoon, so I'll let you off the hook for now. I'll deal with you properly when I get back tonight, and make you call me Dad!"
Zhang Feng naturally understood what Wang Hu meant by "something came up." She pouted and muttered irritably, "Tch, out chasing after other women again! We sisters at home are already doing just that, aren't we enough for you?"
Faced with Zhang Feng's questioning, Wang Hu showed no remorse whatsoever. Instead, he grinned and shamelessly replied, "How can you blame me? It's because you're all too weak and couldn't give me any fun!"
And so, the two bickered all the way home, and before they knew it, they were home. After parking the car, Wang Hu quickly got out, walked around to the other side, gently picked up Zhang Feng, and safely carried her to her doorstep.
After Zhang Feng regained her balance, Wang Hu gently patted her head, said goodbye, then turned and got into his car, driving away.
Zhang Feng was overjoyed, expecting a sweet and passionate intimacy after he carried her back. However, to her utter surprise, the man turned and left without a second thought.
Her once meticulously styled bun was now a mess, disheveled from his rough handling. Zhang Feng stomped her feet in anger, yelling, "You bastard, how dare you treat me like this! Do you really think I'm some ignorant child?"
Just then, Meng Zhiyun and Chen Linlin returned from their driving lessons. They immediately spotted Wang Hu's car speeding away and were filled with doubt.
Chen Linlin asked curiously, "Where is he rushing off to in such a hurry? Isn't he going home or having lunch in the middle of the day?"
Upon hearing this, Zhang Feng was instantly enraged, her resentment erupting like a volcano: "Hmph, do you even need to ask? He must have gone to see that seductive vixen from yesterday! It's all your fault, you insisted on keeping him here last night and wouldn't let him go home!"
In fact, Zhang Feng had always longed to have a child. This eagerness only intensified after learning that Yu Lili and Chen Linlin were both pregnant.
Now, seeing her relationship with Wang Hu growing increasingly distant, a deep sense of anxiety and unease welled up within her.
Hearing Zhang Feng's complaint, Chen Linlin showed no remorse whatsoever. Instead, she teased Zhang Feng with a hint of mockery, "Oh dear, Sister Feng, what are you saying? With your charm, how could you not keep him? He just gently patted your head, and you're already dizzy and disoriented!"
Zhang Feng gently rubbed her fair hands together as she slowly walked towards Chen Linlin with a smile on her face. When she got close, Zhang Feng suddenly exclaimed in feigned surprise, "Oh my! You're getting bolder and bolder! How dare you talk to me like that? Humph, watch out for my invincible dragon claw hand!" As she spoke, she stretched out her hands, making a grabbing motion.
Seeing this, Chen Linlin was not to be outdone. She quickly dodged to the side, while laughing and replying, "Come on, come on, try and catch me if you dare!" In this way, the two beautiful and graceful girls were like two happy little birds, playing together in an instant.
Meng Zhiyun stood quietly to the side, watching the lively "battle" unfold, a faint smile occasionally appearing on her face. However, just as the two were locked in a fierce struggle, Yu Hui came out of the door and shouted, "Stop it! The food is ready!" Hearing this, Zhang Feng and Chen Linlin stopped what they were doing, exchanged a glance, and then ran towards the dining table, laughing and joking.
Meanwhile, Wang Hu was driving a brand-new sedan at breakneck speed towards the residential complex where Li Jiaohui lived. After the car came to a stop, Wang Hu quickly got out and strode straight upstairs.
Reaching the door, he gently knocked a few times. After a moment, the door opened a crack, revealing Li Jiaohui's pretty face. When she saw Wang Hu standing outside, a look of surprise flashed in her eyes.
