Chapter 214: Saving Another Life

Dongfang Jin finally reacted slowly, the veins on his forehead were still bulging. An Qingran knew that this process was very difficult to endure. The less poison was left, the harder it would be to remove. It was still relatively good now.

This was her cousin's warning to her because she was too young and he was afraid that she would not be able to control the patient and would suffer from the disease. Fortunately, An Qingran did not make a living from this and only saved the prince.

"Is it you?" Dongfang Jin's voice was hoarse, as if his throat was on fire.

"It's me. I'm going to give you some water now, but you are not allowed to move. Do you hear me?" An Qingran turned around, picked up the medicine bowl, and handed it to him. Dongfang Jin drank a few sips obediently, and seemed to find that it was bitter medicine. He frowned and raised his hand, almost knocking over the bowl. Fortunately, An Qingran dodged quickly and stood up. "Okay, it's okay now. You can sleep for a while, and everything will be normal when you wake up..."

Dongfang Jin's eyes were still wild. He was breathing heavily, his eyes moving back and forth between An Qingran and the little palace maid, as if he was considering who to target.

An Qingran asked the young palace maid to leave first and temporarily fixed the window to avoid being seen. In fact, An Qingran suspected that someone had already reported the situation to the Queen. After all, the noise was quite loud, and she did not send anyone to disturb her. She must have been able to guess some of the situation.

Finally, Dongfang Jin slowly calmed down. He lay down, his eyes still staring at An Qingran, as if he didn't know her. An Qingran was very helpless. Fortunately, she was sure that she could help clear most of the poison in his body this time. She hoped that he would not be so crazy the next time he had an attack.

While she was praying, Dongfang Jin's breathing slowly became steady and he fell asleep again. An Qingran hurriedly adjusted the silver needles on his body. She wrung a handkerchief with hot fire and wiped off the sweat on his body. Soon, the silver needles began to turn black. She wrapped her hands, pulled out the silver needles, threw them into the basin, and replaced them with a new batch of needles. An Qingran was very satisfied with the effect of the acupuncture this time. It was smoother than the last time, and the poison was pulled out faster and more. She put her index finger on his pulse and felt it quietly. Compared with the previous floating pulse, the pulse now slowly stabilized. Obviously, she controlled his heart fire and hoped that his brain would not be affected.

An Qingran finally breathed a sigh of relief. She felt dizzy for a while. Dongfang Jin's torment almost made her faint. She felt that her kung fu was not good enough.

She sat at the head of the bed, watching the silver needles slowly turn black. She changed another batch, but there were no more silver needles left. An Qingran was hesitant. If Dongfang Jin didn't wake up, she would have to send a palace maid to the Imperial Hospital to get needles. Fortunately, the silver needles didn't change color after this batch, proving that the remaining poison in his body had been almost removed. As she relaxed, she actually felt a little sleepy, so she leaned on the bed with her head on her hand and squinted her eyes...

An Qingran didn't know how long she had slept. When she opened her eyes, she met Dongfang Jin's bright eyes. He lay there very quietly, but judging from his eyes, he had obviously woken up a long time ago. Seeing her wake up, he smiled lightly: "You saved my life again?"

An Qingran checked the silver needle and said, "A doctor is like a parent, and he is not only here to save your life."

"But you saved her after all." Dongfang Jin was not frightened by her coldness and alienation, but continued.

"Drink the medicine first." An Qingran took the medicine, which was still warm. She brought it to Dongfang Jin's mouth. Dongfang Jin lay there motionless, as if waiting for An Qingran to feed him. An Qingran smiled bitterly and shook her head, leaning the pillow behind him against the wall. "You are not disabled, and I didn't teach you a lesson. You can sit up."

"Really?" Dongfang Jin asked knowingly. Seeing that An Qingran had no intention of feeding him medicine, he sat up. An Qingran pulled out the needle from his shoulder, leaving only a little blue below.

Dongfang Jin then saw the needles in the basin on the ground: "Were these pulled out from my body?"

"Yes, I have almost cleared out the toxins in your body. There is only about one or two left. I will prescribe a prescription for you. If you continue to take care of it, there should be no problem. If it doesn't work, I will clear it out for you next time you get sick. There will be no problem."

"You mean, I can become a healthy person?" Dongfang Jin looked at her in disbelief. This surprise came too suddenly. He had always thought that he would not live long, and now it was suddenly announced that he had recovered to normal. The shadow that had been in his mind since he was a child was about to dissipate. He was a little dazed.

It’s not because the illness is cured, but because of how this little girl can have such great abilities.

"So, my mother's illness is no problem for you, right?" Dongfang Jin looked at her expectantly.

An Qingran shook her head, feeling helpless. She also hoped that she could find a way to save the situation: "The Queen's illness is too late, and she is already incurable. There is nothing I can do..."

"Where is your master? Will he have any solution?" Dongfang Jin was so worried about his mother that he would fight for it even if there was a glimmer of hope.

Although he knew that An Qingran had tried her best, he felt that this little girl could work miracles, just like she did for him.

"Master's reply letter hasn't arrived yet. I was just trying to find you. I don't know where Master will return to with this letter. If he returns to the palace, I won't be able to see the letter without you."

"I'll go check it out tomorrow." Dongfang Jin said and drank the medicine in one gulp, only to find that it was bright outside. Now was the 'tomorrow' he was talking about.

He saw the mess on the ground and smiled bitterly. He had no clothes to wear. Fortunately, An Qingran knew that he would wake up like this, so she asked the palace maid to notify the people from the Prince's Mansion to bring them over. They were waiting outside the door.

Dongfang Jin finally left.

An Qingran went to the upper room.

Queen Yun is in good spirits. She combed her hair today, and apart from looking a little pale, she doesn't look sick at all.

An Qingran was happy that she could alleviate her pain a little, so it wasn't completely useless.

"You weren't scared when you heard a loud noise in the yard last night, were you?" Queen Yun asked her softly.

Sure enough, she knew.

An Qingran thought for a moment and said, "The prince came to my room last night. He was poisoned. I treated you all night..."

Since she knows, then just tell her.

"Well, how is he?"

"There is only a little bit of poison left in the body. I have already prescribed medicine for the prince. With daily conditioning, he will hopefully recover..."

"My Buddha, if this is true, you have saved the prince's life..." Queen Yun chanted Buddha's name upon hearing this. She had never thought that the poison in the prince could be eliminated. The imperial doctors just gave him medicine every day, but it didn't help. He had been taking medicine since he was born until he was this big. She thought that her son would be like her and would soon leave the world.

It seems that this girl was indeed a gift from God to them.
