Chapter 25 Visiting the prison
Dali Temple prison.
Hou Junji came to visit the prison.
"General Hou, please! Please don't stay too long! Otherwise, I can't afford the blame from the higher-ups." The prison boss said to Hou Junji.
"Don't worry! I won't make it difficult for you." Hou Junji said.
The prison boss took Hou Junji to the cell where He Lan Chushi was imprisoned. The prison boss opened the door and walked out, leaving the father-in-law and son-in-law alone.
"Father-in-law, save me! It's me! Father-in-law!" When He Lan Chushi saw Hou Junji, he seemed to see a savior and rushed over regardless of anything.
Hou Junji dodged to the side and avoided He Lan Chushi, who was rushing towards him. He Lan Chushi lost his balance and fell flat on his face.
"You idiot! Look at what you have become. How could I be so blind to marry my daughter to you?" Hou Junji was furious when he saw He Lan Chushi, who was in a state of panic. Looking at
this son-in-law who had not made any progress, he regretted marrying his daughter to him. He was completely deceived by his sweet words at the beginning, but now it was too late to regret.
"Father-in-law! I am innocent!" He Lan Chushi fell to his knees and cried loudly.
"Innocent? When you pulled out the Qianniu Knife in front of the driver of the King of Wei in the street, why didn't you think about the consequences? Don't you know what the crime of assassinating a prince is?" Hou Junji pointed at He Lan Chushi and roared hysterically.
There are actually such stupid people in this world who dare to assassinate the heavily guarded prince in public.
But this idiot is his son-in-law, Hou Junji. How can he not be angry?
"I didn't! I really didn't..." He Lan Chushi tried his best to defend himself. He
Lan Chushi was also unlucky enough. The new Nei Shuai of the Right Nei Shuai Mansion gave him a severe lesson and made him lose face.
That day, he had just got off work and wanted to find some fun to vent his depression, but his horse was suddenly frightened and rushed across the street.
What's more unlucky is that the King of Wei happened to pass by there, and his horse rushed towards the King of Wei uncontrollably.
When the guards of Wei Wang Li Tai saw someone dare to rush towards them, they shouted: "There is an assassin! Protect Wei Wang!" and drew their swords.
In panic, He Lan Chushi unexpectedly drew his sword, Qianniu Dao, which was equivalent to confirming the fact of assassination.
He Lan Chushi was quickly controlled by Li Tai's guards and was beaten up. He Lan Chushi was really dumb and could not say anything.
"Are you telling the truth?" Hou Junji questioned.
"Father-in-law, every word I said is true, there is absolutely no falsehood!" He Lan Chushi said.
"How could you be so stupid! You shouldn't have drawn your sword at that time. This would have given the King of Wei a handle. The charge of assassination would have been enough to kill you several times." Hou Junji said.
"Father-in-law! You must save your son-in-law! Father-in-law!" He Lan Chushi hugged Hou Junji's thigh and begged.
"Okay! I will find a way to save you! Whether you can get you out depends on your own luck." Hou Junji said.
"Father-in-law! What do you mean? Don't you want to save me?" He Lan Chushi jumped up like a cat whose tail was stepped on.
"Save, I will save you. I can't guarantee whether the King of Wei can let you go, but don't worry!"
"Even if you can't get out, I will save your life. At most, I will sentence you to exile." Hou Junji said.
Although He Lan Chushi really didn't want to assassinate Li Tai, it was a fact that he drew his sword. Hou Junji felt it was unrealistic to get him out of prison.
Who made his son-in-law so stupid? People should always be responsible for their mistakes.
But He Lan Chushi heard something else.
Hou Junji didn't want to save him at all, and even wanted him to spend the rest of his life in prison. How could He Lan Chushi tolerate this?
He Lan Chushi was full of resentment towards Hou Junji! If Hou Junji really didn't save him, he would reveal all the things about Hou Junji and the prince's rebellion.
He would not let Hou Junji and the prince have an easy life.
Why did He Lan Chushi have to go to jail, while Hou Junji and the prince were able to enjoy wealth and glory?
"Hou Junji! If you dare not save me, I will tell His Majesty everything about you and the prince's rebellion!"
"Then you will all die! If I die, you will not have a good life either." He Lan Chushi's eyes were red, and he was already mad.
Hou Junji was furious: "Evil creature! What are you talking about?"
"I said..."
He Lan Chushi was beaten by Hou Junji before he finished speaking. He, Hou Junji, tried hard to help this bastard. But
he is so good! He doesn't know how to be grateful! He even wants to inform on others. It's really hateful!
"Humph!" Hou Junji snorted coldly, and left the Dali Temple prison with his sleeves swung.
After leaving the prison, Hou Junji went to the East Palace, met Li Chengqian, and told him what He Lan Chushi said in the prison.
"Your Highness! What should we do now?" Hou Junji asked.
Hou Junji had always been worried that the rebellion plan he and the prince had planned would be known to others, thus leading to a murderous disaster. He
even regretted why he had agreed to the prince's rebellion without thinking, and even swore a blood oath.
But it was too late to regret now. Who made him get on the boat of the East Palace?
But Hou Junji didn't expect that He Lan Chushi was so shameless and dared to threaten him with this matter.
"Don't worry, Duke Chen! It doesn't matter if we can't save him, as long as we make him shut up forever." Li Chengqian said.
"Does the prince want to kill He Lan Chushi?" Hou Junji was surprised.
He didn't expect the prince to be so cruel. After all, his son-in-law He Lan Chushi has worked for the prince for many years. Even if he has no merit, he has worked hard. Now he wants to kill him.
"Duke Chen, you are joking! How could I do such a thing as killing someone to silence him? It was He Lan Chushi who knew he was guilty of a grave crime and committed suicide in prison."
"Duke Chen, I'm sure you know what kind of person He Lan Chushi is. Even if he can get out safely this time, there is no guarantee that he won't get into trouble next time."
"If you report our conspiracy to His Majesty, you should understand the consequences without my reminder."
"For the sake of He Lan Chu Shi, losing the lives of the whole family, which is more important! Has Duke Chen ever thought about it?" Li Chengqian said.
He believed that Hou Junji would make a wise choice.
"Your Highness is right! Everything depends on your Highness!"
After thinking it over again and again, Hou Junji finally agreed to Li Chengqian's method. He Lan Chu Shi's death could save his whole family's lives and property, so this deal was not a loss.
As for his daughter, after He Lan Chu Shi's death, he would select a suitable husband for her in the court.
