Chapter 1

Chapter 1 Rebirth

In 1955, Liulin Brigade, Xinyang County, Anhui, China.

"I'm not dead yet? Still alive?"

Liu Shuxin looked at the thatched roof above her head and murmured. She calmed down her excitement of living a new life and turned around to look around the house.

The house was not big, its walls were made of yellow mud mixed with straw, and there were a few men's and women's clothes hanging on the wall, all in blue and gray, not bright colors, with a few patches on them.

At the base of one wall stood a large wardrobe, and on the other side stood a large cabinet with short legs. Its feet were broken in two places and were propped up with stones.

There was a wooden shelf by the door, on which was a broken wooden basin, and under the basin were two pairs of black shoes.

Looking around, there was nothing else in the room except these, oh, except the bed she was lying on. It wasn’t really a bed, it was more like the kang (kang) she had seen in a book before.

Liu Shuxin, born after the epoch, has dual powers of wood and strength. Her father has the power of strength, and her mother is unknown. She inherited her father's strength ability, and also awakened the wood ability.

According to her grumpy father, her mother was an ordinary person who devoted herself to her husband in order to survive, and later died of complications during childbirth.

She boldly guessed that perhaps her wood-related ability was inherited from her ordinary mother.

In the early days of the mortal world, some people with weak constitutions might not be able to stimulate their supernatural powers. In the later days, some people were able to stimulate their supernatural powers through exercise.

Her father often said that he raised her with great difficulty.

But in fact, she has been running around with our mission team since she could walk, and the uncles and aunts in the team have devoted their efforts to her growth.

Young cubs are precious in this world. Although she can grow up healthily without 놛, a girl will never dislike her father's ugliness. Shuxin acquiesced to the fact that 놛 raised her alone.

In this life, everyone is working hard to survive, struggling for food and drink, and accidents are everywhere.

So it was not surprising that when she was fifteen, her father, uncle and aunt went out on a mission and never came back.

But Shuxin knew that in this cannibalistic world, she was no longer a child protected by others, and she needed to fight for her life on her own.

In this way, Shuxin struggled numbly in the world, and occasionally she would think of the warm days when her grumpy father was around. That was one of her few joys.

When she was 22 years old, Shuxin died in a mission to save her teammates. Originally, she didn't have such a great awareness. After all, there were children in the team. The cubs were precious. Just like her before, she wanted them to live.

Now her name is Liu Shuxin, the same as her previous name, just without the character "땢". She is currently a cub of three or four years old.

From her vague memories, she knew that the era she was in now was a bit like the 1960s she had seen in books before.

She didn't know the specific situation and didn't get to the bottom of it.

She only knew that there was no extinction here, no zombies or strange beasts. Although the conditions here were difficult now, as long as she worked hard, she would be able to eat and drink her fill.

Just thinking about it makes me feel that she still made a profit!

Knowing that this world is very safe, Shu Xin plans to have a peaceful sleep. After all, she is still a cub, and her previous self-detonation and rebirth have made her heart very up and down. Now that she is safe, she must rest well.

It's better to sleep when you are older. It's not too late to talk about it when you wake up. Thinking about these things did not prevent Shuxin from falling asleep. After a while, a slight snoring sound was heard in the room.

In the afternoon, the sun was setting and our heroine woke up.

Shuxin opened her eyes, yawned slightly, stretched and sat up.

She was stunned for a few seconds. This was the most peaceful sleep she had ever had. There were no zombies coming after her with the smell of humans, no companions stabbing her in the back, and no strange beasts trying to kill her.

께心 climbed out of bed, put on her shoes, and walked towards the door. It was time to walk out of the room and open up a new world.

When I opened the door, I was dazzled by the view. Although the sun was setting, it had not yet completely fallen. It hung in the sky, emitting warm sunlight, which was heartwarming but not blinding.

Looking along the sun, there is a tall persimmon tree with lush leaves. Among the leaves are densely packed with green persimmons, which look like the persimmons have just borne fruit.

Shu Xin swallowed the water and recalled the taste of last year's persimmons. They were so delicious!

In this world, forget about fruits. It’s good enough to have dry food to eat. As for fruits, you can only taste them in your dreams!

Thinking that it would take another month or two before I could eat, I just managed to suppress my appetite - ah - no -, I suppressed it with water.

Uh~~If I didn’t look at the way she wiped her mouth, maybe it would be more convincing.

After wiping off the water, she looked at the yard where she was. Just like the previous house, the walls of the yard and other houses were made of yellow mud, but they were more delicate than those of the previous house.

There are three large rooms in the middle, two rooms on the left, and a side room next to it which is a storage room.

On the right side is the room she just walked out of, opposite the left side, with the same layout.

The yard is swept clean, and occasionally persimmon leaves fall, adding some green to the yard.

There was no one in the yard. From what I remember, the adults had gone to work and the children had gone out to play.

The original owner had caught a cold and had just recovered, so her parents asked her to stay at home and lie down.

Shuxin moved a stool and sat at the gate, waiting for the adults to come home, and sorting out her thoughts.

The cub was still young and had little memory, so it was easy for him to understand the situation.

There are not many people in this family and the relationships are not too complicated. Grandpa Liu Dalin and grandma Yang Ya had two sons and three daughters.

The eldest son, Liu Tiezhu, married Lin Hong and had a son and a daughter; the second son, Liu Shizhu, married Yang Yue and had a son and a daughter.

The three daughters of the old couple were also married in nearby villages, so travel was very convenient.

The grandchildren are Liu Jianjun and Liu Shulan from the eldest family, Liu Jianguo and Liu Shuxin from the second family.

Liu Jianjun is the eldest, 7 years old, followed by her brother, who is 6 years old this year. Then her eldest aunt gave birth to her 5-year-old cousin Liu Shulan right after that, and her eldest aunt is currently pregnant with a baby.

Her mother was a little weak and got pregnant with her three years after giving birth to her brother. She was injured during the birth of her and never gave birth again.

The second oldest, Liu Shizhu and Yang Yue, are her parents, and her mother is her grandmother’s niece from another room. So among her grandmother's two daughters-in-law, her mother is more favored by her mother-in-law.

But it’s not that grandma doesn’t like aunt. In fact, aunt is also the eldest daughter-in-law that grandma carefully selected. It’s just that Shuxin’s mother is her niece, so she must be closer to her. But basically, they are the same, and they are quite even-handed.

As to why she is so skilled in calling her parents and has no psychological barriers, life in this world is difficult and most children lack a father or a mother. If it weren't for the support of the country, the children would not be able to survive. There are very few people like her who are raised by their biological father at the age of 15. This is considered a happy life.

Although her father was hot-tempered and careless, she never doubted his love for her. If she knew that she had grown up in a peaceful era, she would be so happy. She could call him ancestor instead of someone else. As long as she could live safely, this was her father's good wish for his daughter.

Although her current family members have various shortcomings, it cannot be denied that they are good to the original owner. Even though her grandmother, in her memory, favors boys over girls, she is not like her other family who exploits, beats or scolds girls.

No one is perfect! To her, these were nothing. From now on, they were all her family, and she could tolerate them all. Even if there were some things she couldn't tolerate, she could still teach them about it. After all, she had been in the world for more than 20 years, and that was no exaggeration.
