Chapter 132 Sow Gives Birth

Chen Xiuhua was overjoyed. She was happy because piglets were so expensive these days, and with twelve of them, her daughter's family was going to make a small fortune.

Er Ya looked at the round little piglets, touching this one and that one, unable to put them down. Knowing that Jiang's mother was also worried about things here, she ran back into the house and shouted happily, "Mom, they've bred, they've bred, so many little piglets have bred, one, two, three, four..."

Jiang's mother watched with amusement as her daughter counted on her fingers, then sat up, supporting her belly, and said, "Come on, take me to see the piglets."

"Okay, sure."

As soon as Li Taohua saw Jiang's mother coming over, she quickly said, "Sister-in-law, you have to give me two of these piglets. Look how well you feed your pigs, the piglets are all plump and easy to feed."

"Okay, okay, you can choose first after the baby is a month old."

Jiang's mother was also very happy to see the piglets. Since she became pregnant, she couldn't do heavy work, so the task of feeding the pigs was handed over to her. It was no wonder that Er Ya had chosen them at first sight. Although they looked sickly when they were first bought, and she was worried that they wouldn't live past the night, she didn't expect them to not only survive but also have such a strong first litter.

When Lin Jianguo returned, there were already more than ten piglets in the house. He happily told Jiang's mother, "My brother was just saying he wanted to buy two piglets. They would be a source of income if we raised them until the New Year. It just so happens that our pigs gave birth. We'll let him take two of them when they are a month old."

Jiang's mother was unhappy and glared at him, saying, "Why should I? I raised this pig, and I don't want to sell it to him."

“Sell? That’s my own brother, how can I ask him for money? His family isn’t doing well either. Consider this piglet a gift to him. It’s settled then. I’m going to take a nap. Call me when dinner is ready.”

He waved his hand and went back to his room to sleep.

Jiang's mother stomped her feet in anger, but Chen Xiuhua tugged at her clothes and advised her, "It's just two piglets, just give them to him. There's no need to argue with your son-in-law over this."

"Mother, I really don't want to. Those ungrateful wretches, no matter how much you give them, they won't appreciate it."

But seeing that Lin Jianguo's attitude was quite firm this time, there was nothing she could do even if she was unwilling.

Er Ya was also surprised by Lin Jianguo's reaction this time. If it were before, he would have discussed it with everyone. It seems that she needs to find an opportunity to ask Lin Daya out.

The next morning, Er Ya finished her breakfast, grabbed something, and ran out. She guessed that Lin Daya was probably gathering pig feed at this time. When she got to the riverbank, she saw that she was indeed there.

She had run into Lin Daya several times in the past few months, but the girl was probably terrified of her and afraid of being sent to the police station. She would run away as soon as she saw her from afar. She hadn't spoken to her in a long time.

"Hey, Lin Daya."

Lin Daya was gathering pig feed. Her mother had said that if she didn't fill the basket with pig feed, she wouldn't be allowed to eat lunch. She rubbed her rumbling stomach and started hallucinating.

She mistook the pig feed in front of her for a steamed bun, grabbed a handful and put it in her mouth. Just then, a voice came from behind her. She calmed herself down and realized that she had almost eaten the pig feed. She turned her head and saw that it was Er Ya. She picked up the basket and prepared to run away.

Er Ya put her hands on her hips and said in a childish voice, "Hey, why are you running away? I'm not going to eat you. Come here, I have something to tell you."

Lin Daya walked over timidly: "What are you doing? I haven't offended you recently."

Could it be that she heard me secretly cursing her earlier? No way, she cursed her silently in her heart, she didn't say it out loud.

Over the past few months, she has watched Er Ya grow from a poor girl who couldn't even afford to eat to one of the wealthiest households in the village.

As for herself, after Er Ya's family left, all the chores that had been piled up on them were handed over to her by Old Lady Shen.

She had to get up before dawn every day and couldn't go to bed until it was completely dark. She was actually quite happy when Er Ya was kicked out by her grandmother, but who knew that she would be in big trouble after Er Ya left. So whenever she couldn't take it anymore, she would curse Er Ya a few times to vent her frustration.

If she had known earlier that Er Ya was gone and it would be her turn to do the work, she would have begged her grandmother not to send Er Ya away.

Er Ya looked at Lin Daya and seemed to see her former self: a thin, small girl with dirty, patched clothes.

Although she disliked Lin Daya, she was still a kind person at heart. She took out a piece of sponge cake from her pocket and handed it to Lin Daya: "Here, I'm full, you can have this."

Lin Daya looked at Er Ya in disbelief, wondering how she had become so nice. Heaven knows that ever since she learned that Er Ya had almost sent her brother to jail, she had been living in fear every day, afraid that Er Ya would bring up old grievances and send her to jail as well, since she had never been a good friend to her.

But smelling the delicious aroma of the sponge cake, Lin Daya couldn't help but swallow. It looked so delicious. Sometimes when her aunt came back, she would bring some of this to Grandma Shen, but she could never get her hands on it. Only her brother could occasionally get a little bit.

Lin Daya asked in disbelief, "You're really giving me some to eat? You didn't put something in there, did you?"

"Eat it or not, it's up to you. If you don't want to eat it, I'll eat it."

After saying that, she made a gesture as if she was going to put the sponge cake in her mouth, but Lin Daya snatched the sponge cake away with lightning speed: "I'll eat it, I'll eat it."

I popped it into my mouth without a second thought, even if it was poisoned, I'd accept it. But then I tasted something sweet in my mouth, which didn't seem like anything was in it. Was I just imagining things?

The sponge cake wasn't very big; Lin Daya felt she hadn't even tasted it before it was gone.

He licked his fingers. His stomach, which had been empty before, felt even hungrier after eating a little food. He looked at Er Ya pitifully and said, "Is there anything else? I haven't eaten for two meals. This is not enough at all."

Er Ya took out another piece from her pocket. Jiang's mother knew that she liked to eat snacks, so she specially made a large pocket for her, which contained all kinds of snacks, so that Er Ya could eat them when she was hungry.

When Lin Daya saw another piece of sponge cake, her eyes lit up, and she reached out to grab it, saying, "Give it to me, give it to me quickly!"

Er Ya took a step back: "Don't move. I'm going to ask you some questions. Answer honestly, and then I'll give you this chicken cake."

Lin Daya stared longingly at the chicken cake in Er Ya's hand, nodding her head repeatedly, "Okay, whatever you want to ask me, I'll tell you as long as I know it."
