Chapter 43: The Fight Began

Anyway, things are better at home now, and we have enough to feed it. Keeping it around can also help it guard the house, so we can feed it whenever we want.

After Jiang's mother had rested enough, Er Ya told her everything that had happened that day.

Jiang's mother was furious when she heard this. She had gone out to earn money, and those gossipy women in the family were spreading rumors about her. She picked up a shovel and was about to go find Han Shi when Lin Jianguo tried to stop her.

Er Ya quickly followed behind, worried that Jiang's mother, being pregnant, would suffer losses by going alone. Jiang's mother arrived at Han's house in a huff, kicked open the courtyard gate, and began to curse:

"Han Dazhen, you mouth-laughing brat, I'm going to work properly, and you're at home making up stories about me. If you can't shut your mouth, I'll sew it shut."

While cursing, she smashed their basin with a shovel. Han was doing needlework in the house when she heard someone cursing her outside. Before she even stepped out the door, she started cursing back: "Which blind fool is causing trouble in my house? Oh, it's Jiang. What, you've had your fun at the market and now you're finally back?"

Enraged, Jiang's mother grabbed an iron shovel and was about to hit Han, cursing, "I'll beat you to death, you shameless woman who spreads lies! When have you ever seen me having an affair with someone?"

Lin Dayong, Han's husband, quickly helped Han back and then pushed her hard, almost causing Jiang's mother to fall. Er Ya, who happened to arrive, quickly grabbed Jiang's mother to prevent her from falling.

"Are you out of your mind, woman? Coming to my house to cause trouble? Who told you that my old woman said that? Besides, you did those things yourself, why are you afraid of what others say?"

Jiang's mother lunged at Han and tried to scratch her face, yelling, "I'll beat you to death! I'll fight you to the death today! I'll show you how to lie!"

Han also came to her senses and started fighting with Jiang's mother. Er Ya was extremely anxious on the side: "My mother is pregnant. If anything happens to the child, I will go to the police station today to sue you for defamation and intentional homicide."

Han continued to grab Jiang's mother's hair regardless of the situation. "Shameless woman, she even came to my door to hit me. I have to teach her a lesson."

Er Ya was so anxious that she was like an ant on a hot pan, running around in circles. What should she do?

Just then, someone ran to inform Old Lady Shen: "Auntie, you'd better hurry, Jiang was beaten at Han's house, and Er Ya is crying so hard that she can't be pulled away."

When Grandma Shen, who was sunbathing at the entrance of the main room, heard that her daughter-in-law had been beaten, she immediately stood up. She thought that no matter how much trouble there was among family members, it was still their family's business. Now that an outsider dared to bully her daughter-in-law, it must be because she had become more docile and stopped causing trouble in the past two years.

She rolled up her sleeves and ran to the Han family's house. When she got to the courtyard, she saw that the Han family was riding on top of Jiang's mother and hitting her. Er Ya was protecting her mother, but she was also pushed aside.

She pushed Han away and pulled Jiang's mother up, saying, "You're really something, aren't you? You're pregnant with my Lin family's child and you went to someone else's house to get beaten up. Stand aside, or you'll see how I deal with you if you hurt the baby."

After saying that, she put her hands on her hips, pointed at Han's nose, and cursed, "You little bitch, you think I'm dead just because I haven't cursed in the past few years? You hit my daughter-in-law, see how I deal with you."

He grabbed Han's face and slapped her twice across the face, then straddled her and started pulling her hair, tearing off handfuls at a time, making Han scream in pain.

Lin Dayong tried to pull Grandma Shen away, but she bumped into him and he fell to the side of the yard, not regaining his senses for a long time. Grandma Shen, now free, pinched and squeezed Han's soft flesh, making it impossible for Han to fight back. Han lay on the ground, shouting for help and begging Lin Dayong to save her.

Lin Dayong stood by, reaching out but unsure where to pull her. This old lady Shen, at her age, how could she be so strong? She'd just thrown him up; he'd almost vomited his lunch. He looked up and saw Lin Jianguo coming over, so he quickly pulled him away.

“Jianguo, quickly pull your mother away! Look what she did to your aunt! She didn’t have much hair to begin with, and now she’s been ripped out so badly that there are hardly any strands left. I don’t even know why she was beaten.”

Lin Jianguo glanced at Jiang's mother, who was standing to the side, sobbing uncontrollably. She didn't seem to be in any danger, except for two scratches on her face, so he felt relieved.

Just as Old Mrs. Shen was having a good time beating Han Shi, who was under her buttocks, she was beaten so badly that she could no longer scream. Fearing that something might happen, Lin Dayong quickly pulled Old Mrs. Shen up, which gave Lin Dayong a chance to pull Han Shi up as well.

Han's face was red and swollen from the slaps, her right cheek was swollen, and her clothes were torn, revealing the flesh underneath. Lin Dayong quickly went into the house and brought out a coat, which he put on Han.

Han threw her clothes aside and sat down on the ground, wailing loudly, "My life is so miserable, Lin Dayong! It's all your fault for being so useless and letting someone come to my house and beat me up! What did I do to deserve this? She did something despicable and came to my house to take her anger out on me! Go ahead and hit me, beat me to death! If you beat me to death, I'll go to the underworld and sue you to the King of Hell!"

Er Ya coldly stepped forward and said, "Do you dare to go to the King of Hell? I heard that after a long-mouthed woman who tells lies dies, her tongue is pulled out and fried in oil ten thousand times a day. Do you dare to swear that what you said is true, that you really saw my mother having an affair? If that's not true, then you can wait to have your tongue pulled out."

These words made Han shrink back, sit on the ground and wail, not daring to say anything more.

Someone called the village chief over, and Lin Fugui rushed over to break up the fight. This old lady Shen was an invincible fighter when she was young. When he first took office, he was often dragged to judge cases for her. Now that she has finally become a mother-in-law, things have calmed down in the past few years. So who has provoked her again?

He ran breathlessly to the Han family's house. When he entered the courtyard, he saw that the fight was over. Fortunately, the last time Old Lady Shen got into a fight, he went to break it up, and the old woman pushed him away, causing his back to ache for several days. Ever since then, whenever he heard that Old Lady Shen was fighting, his back would start to ache.

Lin Fugui looked at the crowded entrance and said, "What's going on here? You've been idle for a couple of days and you've gotten sick of it, haven't you? You have nothing better to do than fight. You're all grandmothers now, aren't you afraid people will laugh at you?"

"Sister-in-law, what's wrong with you today? What made you angry?"

Upon hearing this, Old Mrs. Shen realized, "That's right! Why did I get into this fight? I only heard someone say that my daughter-in-law was being beaten, so I rushed over in a panic. The fight started as soon as I arrived. I had no idea why!"
