Chapter 197 Utterly Boring

He was indeed unable to do it, so he left the work to Daya.

Every day, Daya also had to go out to work, cutting pig feed, digging wild vegetables, and when she came back, she had to cook, do laundry, and take care of Old Lady Shen.

She was furious. She should have asked Wang Mazi for help. She had said she would do some work, but she hadn't done that much. Now, all the work was hers.

When Wang Mazi secretly came to see her, he saw that the woman in front of him was already dark and thin, and these past few days she had been so tired that she was almost unrecognizable.

"What happened to you? Did your family abuse you?"

Wang Mazi was just curious and asked, but Da Ya thought he was concerned about her.

Wiping away her tears, she recounted what had happened during this time, and finally said with a wronged tone, "Brother Wang, when did you know you were coming to marry me? I don't want to stay in this house anymore."

The girl in front of him wasn't particularly attractive, and it seemed her family was facing a heavy burden. Wang Mazi's initial excitement had faded, and he was now considering backing out.

He replied dismissively, "Let's wait a bit longer. What's the rush? We'll talk about it after the New Year."

Da Ya opened her big mouth and said coquettishly, "Brother Wang, you've seen my family's situation. By the time the New Year comes, I'll be exhausted. Brother Wang, don't you want a wife who cares about you? I promise I'll keep the house in perfect order for you."

Wang Mazi pondered for a while. What Da Ya said made sense. Anyway, this girl had come to him of her own accord. After they got married, she couldn't control him much. It was better to get married sooner so he could have someone to keep warm in bed at night.

"Okay, if you want to get married now, let me make this clear first, there will be no bride price. Five thousand is enough for me to marry several wives. If you agree, since we're both getting married for the second time, we won't have a ceremony. I'll just pick a good day and bring you over."

Daya was dissatisfied, feeling confused and wanting to make more requests, but when she looked at Wang Mazi's impatient face, she knew he would turn and leave if she said a few more words.

She quickly nodded and said, "Okay, then come pick me up as soon as possible. I don't want anything from you, I just want you to treat me well in the future."

After the two had agreed, before they could even get intimate for a short while, Old Mrs. Shen started cursing from inside the house: "Where did that brat go? I pooped, hurry up and change me."

Since her stroke, she has become less mobile, and perhaps because of this, her voice has become louder. If anything does not go her way, she will start cursing.

Daya looked at Wang Mazi pitifully: "Brother Wang, look at this life I'm living now, you have to come and pick me up soon."

Seeing how much Da Ya depended on him, Wang Mazi, a chauvinist, felt his vanity satisfied and patted his chest, saying, "I'll pick you up tomorrow. Don't bring any of your things from home; I'll buy you new ones when we get there."

When Grandma Shen couldn't get Daya to come, she started cursing again, hurling insults one after another. Daya had no choice but to hurriedly say goodbye to Wang Mazi and run back home.

He kept cursing in his mind: "You old hag, I'll put up with you for one day. After I get married, let's see if I still talk to you."

Now I had no choice but to hold my nose and endure the stench as I changed her clothes and took the dirty clothes out to wash them.

Lin Xi stayed at home for a few days, bored out of her mind, and almost got moldy. She wanted to go out for a walk, but her mother stopped her, saying that she hadn't recovered yet and couldn't go out in the wind.

Lin Lin was bored to death every day, and went to school. She wanted to go to the restaurant for a stroll, but her mother wouldn't let her, saying she was afraid of tiring herself out.

As she lay on the chair sighing, Lin Jianfang came over and saw that her face was covered in bruises and tear stains.

Lin Xi knew something was up. She happened to be free anyway, so she decided to resolve her aunt's issue before leaving, so they could leave in peace.

She had already made up her mind to find a reliable person to manage everything here, and then take her whole family to B City, which was more prosperous and would be beneficial for their future development. Most importantly, Lin Xiao was there.

As soon as I entered the courtyard, I saw Lin Xi sitting there. I quickly wiped away the tears on my face and forced a smile, saying, "Xiao Xi, are you feeling any better? I've been busy these past few days and haven't been able to come and see you."

"Auntie, I saw it all. Did that scoundrel hit you again?"

Hearing Lin Xi's question, Lin Jianfang could no longer hold back her tears: "That bastard, he's having an affair, and they're even having a child. I was too easy to bully, so he brought the other woman back and had her sleep in our bed."

"What? He's going too far! He doesn't respect us at all! What is he trying to do? Is he trying to commit bigamy?"

"Xiaoxi, you're a girl, don't worry about these things. Your dad and I will take care of you."

Hearing the voices in the yard, Jiang's mother came over and heard Lin Jianfang and Lin Xi talking. Seeing Lin Xi angrily about to go to Lin Jianfang's house, she quickly stepped forward and stopped her: "Don't worry about it, just take good care of yourself. Your father and I can still move around."

"Mom, you're too easygoing. If you go this time, nothing will be resolved, and Aunt will still suffer there."

Jiang's mother softened her tone: "Then what do you want to do? I'd like to hear your ideas."

Lin Xi looked at Lin Jianfang, who was wiping away tears: "Aunt, do you still want to be with him?"

“I didn’t want to live there anymore. He would slap you whether he was happy or unhappy. If it weren’t for your grandparents stopping me, I would have divorced him long ago.”

"With you saying that, I know it. Don't worry, Aunt, this time I will definitely get you divorced."

Lin Jianfang said with difficulty, "With your grandma like this, I can't go back to that home. If we really get divorced, where will I go? Sigh, a married daughter has no home anymore."

“You have hands and feet, why are you afraid of not being able to support yourself? Work here in this restaurant first, they provide food and lodging, it’s better than you being in that devil’s den.”

"Yes, Auntie, don't worry."

Lin Jianfang was overjoyed that her sister-in-law had spoken. It was wonderful! Ever since she got married, she had been looking forward to leaving that place. Even if she had to stay at home as an old maid for the rest of her life, she would not want to go to Junzi's house.

But her parents never considered her feelings. They just bought her some food and drinks and that was enough to keep them happy. They even thought about how she had finally found a good home.

After her father passed away, things gradually piled up at home. Her mother suffered a stroke, her sister-in-law was traumatized, and Jinbao went to jail. She thought that she might never leave Junzi's family for the rest of her life.
