After watching Zhao Shu leave, Physician Peng grabbed Doctor Lou and said, "Oh dear, the master needs to rest. What are you making such a racket here for? Don't you want him to get better? Instead of making such a fuss, why don't you come with me to look through some medical books and see if we can find a way to cure him?"
Knowing that the argument couldn't continue, Dr. Lou reluctantly followed Physician Peng out of the room. Once outside, he said sternly to Physician Peng, "If even you, sir, can't do anything, what can we do? What medical books haven't you read? If you had a solution, you would have done it already."
"Look at you, you're underestimating yourself, aren't you? If you were just an ordinary doctor, would the Huo family have relied on you for decades? Come on, didn't you say that prescription just now shouldn't be used indiscriminately? Let's go try it."
The two old scholars immediately put aside their past grievances and began to study the medicine that Shengxia and Xinwei were brewing.
Zhao Shu dared not underestimate anyone. After leaving the house, she left only Sheng Xia, who was decocting medicine, and the two of them out of the medicine hut.
As soon as she stepped out of the medicine hut, Chu Chun approached, leading a child. "Princess," she said, curtsying and addressing the child, "Greetings to the Princess."
The child had already changed his clothes, which were probably Huo Guxian's. Huo Guxian was better looking than him, so the child looked much looser in Huo Guxian's clothes. He timidly tried to kneel down to Zhao Shu, but Chu Chun didn't stop him. She insisted that the child kneel down and kowtow to Zhao Shu, saying, "Zhao Shaoqiu greets the Princess."
Seeing his extremely skillful kneeling motion, but a look of pain flashed across his face when his knees hit the ground, Zhao Shu asked Chu Chun to pull him up, walk over to him, and touch his knees.
When his hand touched his knee, he recoiled in pain, looking at Zhao Shu in horror. Although it hurt, he still instinctively wanted to kneel down, but Zhao Shu stopped him.
"Go and ask Old Peng to prescribe some medicine."
“Yes,” Chu Chun replied.
Zhao Shu nodded to Zhao Shaoqiu and headed towards Xiyan Courtyard. The Huo residence wasn't very large, and they arrived there in no time. Xiyan Courtyard wasn't named for the many evening glories planted there. Zhao Shu looked at the courtyard's location. To the east, there was shade and the terrain was relatively high, making it difficult for the morning sun to reach the courtyard. On the west side, however, it was lower, allowing the setting sun to shine into the courtyard for a long time.
She guessed that's how it got its name.
Upon arriving at Xiyan Courtyard, Sun Yun was still enjoying local specialties, eating freshwater snails, when she saw Zhao Shu return and hurried to her, saying, "Ah Jun, Ah Jun, come quickly, stir-fry some snails."
She kept fanning her mouth with her hand because of the spiciness, and drank tea to relieve the spiciness, but she still couldn't help but continue eating.
She also loves stir-fried snails, but she doesn't eat them often because she's heard that snails can contain parasites. However, inspired by the atmosphere of Sun Yun eating snails, she couldn't help but want to eat a lot.
However, just as she was about to indulge in her witty remarks, Huo Baichuan arrived. He had changed his clothes, but he was still wearing a black bamboo-patterned white robe with a simple belt tied around his chest. His black hair was not yet completely dry and was casually draped over his shoulders, making him look lazy and leisurely.
He didn't come in, seemingly out of consideration for Zhao Shu and Sun Yun, but stood far away outside and said to Zhao Shu, "Princess, did you write down the prescription? I've found everything you wanted."
Considering that he had just personally gone into the water to save someone, showing that he was kind and helpful, Zhao Shu decided to treat him better. She smiled and said to Magpie, "Sister Magpie, please bring me some writing brush, ink, paper, and inkstone."
"No need, we have it here." Huo Baichuan raised his hands, holding paper and pen in one hand and ink in the other, and casually placed them on the stone table in the courtyard.
Seeing that Huo Baichuan wasn't coming in, Sun Yun felt relieved. She used Banshu to block her body and continued eating, winking at Zhao Shu as if to say, "Go ahead, Mr. Huo is looking for you."
Seeing her mischievous expression, Zhao Shu wished she could snatch the snails from in front of her, but Huo Baichuan urged her again, "Aren't you coming?"
Only one door was opened, and Xiao Guozi and the others followed, going out together to the stone table in the courtyard. Not far away, Duozi stood like a wooden figure, staring straight ahead. Zhao Shu glanced at Duozi and asked Huo Baichuan, "Where's Xiao Pang?"
"He went home to get married." He casually handed the pen to Zhao Shu, not intending to tell her that Little Fatty had actually gone to Qingzhou to rescue the Crown Prince.
Seeing that he didn't intend to say anything more, Zhao Shu took the wolf-howling brush and wrote down the prescription, dietary restrictions, and precautions on the paper. She had written them down before, but not completely.
After finishing writing, she blew on the still-wet ink and asked, "Mr. Huo, do you have any news of my father?"
