Chapter 114 I Miss You

“There are people from all over the country in the military camp, and I ask them to teach me what they know how to do.”

"A gentleman keeps away from the kitchen, but you're doing the opposite, learning how to cook. If you're so capable, what's the point of having a cook?" Zhao Shu said this, but she felt inexplicably sweet inside. "Are all the recipes for your Yipinju restaurant from the military camp?"

“Many of them are.” He didn’t deny it. Zhao Shu remembered that when she went to Guanzhou, she and Sun Yun liked a dish, and he even said that the recipe wasn’t for sale.

"Mandarin fish has few bones, so it's perfect for steaming. Mmm, delicious."

To be honest, the taste wasn't the best, not as good as Xing'er's, but it was still quite good. And it was made by him himself. Zhao Shu ate two bowls of rice and even the cold noodles, which made her so full that she couldn't even sit up. "What if I get fat from eating so much?"

She couldn't help but complain.

"It's good that you're chubby, you're soft, I like it." After the meal, Wei Tingsi accompanied her for a walk to aid digestion, then took her hand in his large palm, with long and beautiful fingers, and held Zhao Shu's small hand completely in his palm.

Then Zhao Shu suddenly remembered that back in Jiangnan he had asked her to come with him, but she hadn't agreed. Now she was still here. Could it be his conspiracy?

"Hey, is sending me out of the capital part of your scheme?" That's what he thought, and that's what he asked.

Wei Tingsi smiled mysteriously, "No, it's Master's conspiracy."

In fact, it's safer to leave the capital than to stay in the city. At least under his protection, there are fewer restrictions and more complex enemies compared to the capital.

"You're lying." Zhao Shu pinched him hard, but he endured it without changing his expression.

"How are the princes doing lately?" To be honest, she didn't want all the princes dead. As long as they had no troops or power, they couldn't cause any trouble. She was only worried about Zhao Bi.

"They're getting along really well with the local powerful families, and there might be a wedding in a few days." Emperor Mingde doesn't bestow titles of kings, and he has no troops to command, so they just eat, drink, and have fun when they come. Anyway, he can't win against them.

"The eldest prince too?"

"The eldest prince does have the demeanor of an elder brother. He once approached me, wanting to lead troops, but I did not agree." He knew what Qin Ji was worried about, which was nothing more than that he was afraid that Qin Ji would be soft-hearted towards his sons or blindly loyal because of Emperor Mingde's life-saving grace.

He might have done so before, but not anymore. He still has Shushu to protect, and if anyone dares to have even the slightest improper thought, he will make sure they die a horrible death.

"You sent Lord Wang here to keep an eye on the princes?" If he goes to Zhuzhou, the princes might rashly mobilize troops, resulting in heavy losses. Wang Jiyang's arrival is just right to keep the princes in check.

The people on either side were mostly incompetent; the most cunning, Zhao Bi, had hidden himself in the enemy camp, and the others were not worth worrying about.

"Yes, I have that plan. Don't worry, my troops will only be assigned to you, and no one else can touch them."

Zhao Shu couldn't help but smile, feeling as if her money was only for her to spend, and no one else could get a single cent.

Seeing the smile on her lips, Wei Tingsi's heart fluttered, and he hugged her from behind, saying, "I missed you so much."

The soft voice reached Zhao Shu's ears, and her face flushed red. "Yes, I know."

"I feel like you haven't thought about me," he continued softly, his warm breath brushing against Zhao Shu's cheeks, tickling them and making her blush even more.

Zhao Shuxin's heart skipped a beat. She felt guilty, as if she had done something wrong. She felt very sorry for him, which was completely inexplicable. "No, I miss you too."

"Then kiss me."

"Ha," Zhao Shu stomped her foot, then stomped hard on his instep. All that talk was just to set the stage for this. She had even felt guilty earlier. "You lecherous scoundrel."

"I'm going to Zhuzhou soon. Aren't you even a little bit reluctant to leave me?" He saw the trace of guilt she felt just now, and it pained him. He couldn't bear to make her feel guilty, and he couldn't bear to make her feel any burden. So, no matter if she thought of him as a lecher or a hypocrite, he didn't care.

Besides, he really wanted her to kiss him.

"How about I go to Zhuzhou with you?" I heard that place is a plateau with deserts and salt lakes. Maybe we can do salt business in the future. I've lived for decades and can't just be confined to the house. Lin Dongxue has traveled all over the country at such a young age, but she is like a frog in a well. How pathetic.

Wei Tingsi released her. "No, this trip will be very tough. Your body can't handle it. Besides, not everyone can go to the high plateau."

“I understand medicine. If you are injured, I can treat you. Otherwise, take Doctor Peng with you. He is over sixty years old and can hardly walk anymore.”

As the saying goes, you shouldn't talk about someone behind their back. No sooner had the words been spoken than a cold snort was heard, "Hmph, who can't walk anymore?"

Zhao Shu turned around and saw Physician Peng coming from the covered corridor. "Peng, what brings you here?"

"If I hadn't come, wouldn't I have been too old to walk?" He glared at Zhao Shu, clearly displeased, and forcefully handed her a list. "Here, the people you're looking for are all here."

Zhao Shu opened the list with a pleasant surprise and looked at it carefully. She found that there were more than 30 craftsmen, seven of whom were skilled. The one who made the purple-gold crown for Prince Yong had changed his name to Zhang Kan and had long since stopped doing his old job.

"This was sent by the Crown Prince." He then handed Zhao Shu a letter. After finishing his business, he cupped his hands to Wei Tingsi, and the two exchanged greetings.

After reading the list, Zhao Shu opened the Crown Prince's letter. The letter contained very little information, only mentioning a few places, which should be where Emperor Mingde hid his gold. To this day, apart from the Crown Prince and Emperor Mingde's loyal followers, no one knows the location of the gold mines. It seems that these places are either transit points for gold or where gold is hidden.

"Thank you, Elder Peng. You seem to be getting younger with age, looking about the same age as my father." Zhao Shu smiled exaggeratedly at him and waved, then pulled Wei Tingsi to the study.
