Like her, Granny Zhong's thoughts drifted far away. Granny Zhong's eyes were full of hope. She thought that the princess might meet the young master Huo on her trip to Huo Family's Tea Plum Mountain. If the princess could marry the young master Huo, it would fulfill the Empress Dowager's wish.
When Zhao Shu returned to Jinlan Palace, she hurriedly ordered people to pack their things. Sun Yun was drawing pretty little box designs in the embroidery room; these would be used to hold shampoo in the future.
"Ah Jun." Hearing Zhao Shu's footsteps, she didn't even look up, only calling out.
“Let’s go to Chamei Mountain to see the camellias tomorrow,” Zhao Shu said, sitting opposite her.
Sun Yun then looked up. "Why the sudden decision to go?"
"It's snowing! We can enjoy the snow scenery, isn't that wonderful?" Zhao Shu said, choosing the most flattering words, and even recited a few lines of poetry, such as, "Only two or three flowers bloom on the southern branch, their fragrance and powdery beauty enhanced by the snow. Faintly they follow the smoke, thickly they follow the moon, deeply they shroud the water, lightly they shroud the sand."
Sun Yun looked at Zhao Shu as if she were an idiot, "Have you been traumatized?"
Therefore, it is very true that one cannot be too normal with acquaintances. Sun Yun did not believe Zhao Shu was the kind of person who was pretentious. After saying that, she started writing and drawing again. "Go then. Since that's the case, this young lady will play a piece of music called 'High Mountains and Flowing Water' in the snow-covered camellia and plum blossom scenery of the mountains to scare you worldly mortals."
Of all people, the happiest was Banshu, whose daughter had finally returned to normal, and whose guqin had been left unused for a long time.
The next day, Zhao Shu and Sun Yun got up early, paid their respects to the Empress Dowager, and then boarded the carriage, heading towards Chamei Mountain. They did not go to the Huo family to depart with Huo Danlan, but instead agreed to meet at the city gate.
Upon reaching the city gate, the Huo family's carriage had been waiting for a long time. Zhao Shu and Sun Yun got out of the carriage to greet Huo Danlan before getting back in and continuing their journey. Because it was a snowy day, with heavy snowflakes falling from the sky, no one spoke, and they silently made their way. Zhi Hai was still driving the carriage.
After the carriage had been traveling for about an hour, Zhihai said, "Princess, we have arrived."
"Okay." Zhao Shu said, and she and Sun Yun got off the carriage one after the other. When they got off the carriage, they saw an inconspicuous mountain villa. The villa was built in a basin, so naturally, camellias could not be seen here.
Huo Danlan also got off the carriage, but did not bring Huo Guxian with her. It is worth mentioning that Ouyang Ping also came. For many days, the old physician Peng had not sent her any news, and she did not know how the physician was doing. She only knew that his condition had improved. At his age, it is difficult for him to recover from any illness. Zhao Shu is not a god. Apart from prescribing medicine, she could only wait for him to recover.
It was cold, so he was wrapped in a thick cloak, and a young apprentice who looked like a medicine boy was holding an umbrella for him.
Upon seeing Zhao Shu, Ouyang Ping smiled and nodded.
Zhao Shu hurried over and bowed, "I wonder if the old gentleman is feeling any better?"
"Thank you for your generosity in providing the prescription, Princess. I feel much better now." After saying this, he couldn't help but cough a few times because of the intense itching in his throat, but it wasn't as bad as when they first met.
"Sir, you are too kind. Compared to your medical skills and benevolent deeds, my little thing is nothing. Your recovery is a blessing for the people." Zhao Shu said this sincerely. Doctors like Ouyang Ping are rare in any dynasty.
Ouyang Ping chuckled and shook his head, "Your Highness flatters me." Having obtained Zhao Shu's prescription, and with Physician Peng praising Zhao Shu in his ear, he naturally stopped treating Zhao Shu as an ordinary child. In his words, he treated her as an equal. He had already determined that Zhao Shu's prescription was an excellent one when he first saw it; no one without considerable medical experience could have concocted it.
Therefore, she was both curious and impressed by Zhao Shu.
"Sir and Ah Jun, please don't linger here. Let's hurry into the manor. It's freezing cold, and you're already seriously ill," Huo Danlan interrupted their conversation, took Zhao Shu's hand, and led her into the manor.
The Huo family's Camellia Villa is exquisitely and elegantly built. From the outside, it seems very small, but once you enter the villa, you will find that it is quite spacious. As you enter, you can see the beautiful camellias with white and red flowers planted along the path.
These camellias are beautifully colored, with a delicate and elegant style. In particular, the trees are exceptionally beautiful in shape, with full and graceful forms, and each tree is covered with many camellia blossoms.
Whether it was her imagination or not, once she entered the Camellia Villa, Zhao Shu felt that the temperature seemed to have risen considerably, and it wasn't as cold as it had been outside.
That must be why so many camellias have survived.
Basins are generally warmer.
Upon entering the Tea Plum Manor, a maidservant greeted them. Huo Danlan instructed someone to lead Zhao Shu and Sun Yun to their courtyard, where they would spend the night.
Two maids approached Zhao Shu and Sun Yun, saying, "Princess, Miss Sun, please come with us."
Zhao Shu and Sun Yun exchanged a glance, then instructed their people to unload the things from the carriage. They followed the maid to the courtyard where they would stay for the night. When they reached a fork in the road, the two maids stopped.
The maid who led Zhao Shu explained, "Princess, Miss Sun, there are two small courtyards here. Your courtyard and Miss Sun's courtyard are adjacent, but the road is a bit roundabout. Please come with me, Princess."
Zhao Shu felt increasingly puzzled. She and Sun Yun could have lived in the same courtyard. She felt strange but didn't say anything. She nodded and said to Sun Yun, "Yun, I'll come find you in a bit."
Sun Yun wasn't the type to need someone to accompany her. She said, "Okay, if you're not free, I can come find you." She was quite free anyway.
After parting ways with Sun Yun at the fork in the road, Zhao Shu was led to a very secluded courtyard. There were many forks in the road, and it was easy to get lost if one was not careful. Without someone to guide her, Zhao Shu would definitely not dare to wander around.
The maid led her to a small wooden house and said, "Please come in, Princess."
