Zhao Shu had never been to the Sun family's Jingxin Garden before, and no one she knew before would tell her these things. This was the first time she had heard that maids and servants were not allowed to come along to admire the flowers.
However, since everyone else is doing it, she's no longer afraid.
"Yes, please rest assured, Your Highness, I will take good care of my two younger sisters. When you leave, I promise to return them to you unharmed." The maid's demeanor was graceful and elegant, even more dignified than the girls from humble families.
"Go ahead." Zhao Shu gave Chu Chun and Sheng Xia a reassuring smile, then followed Xie Jinhuan into the path through the sea of flowers.
The garden is filled with blooming flowers and their fragrance is irresistible. A gentle breeze blows, making people feel relaxed and happy.
After walking for about fifteen minutes, they saw a pavilion surrounded by hibiscus in the distance. There were two or three young ladies chatting and laughing and exchanging cups in the pavilion. There were no maids or servants serving them. When they saw the three of them coming, they immediately shut up, but simply stood up, curtsied, and smiled in greeting. They did not invite the three of them to come in and sit down.
Xie Jinhuan suddenly said, "I'm sorry, I've caused you two to be avoided by people."
Zhao Shu and Sun Yun exchanged a glance, neither quite understanding the meaning behind her words, but both had a guess in their hearts. Seeing that the two remained silent, she chuckled, "There are probably more pavilions ahead, shall we go and take a look?"
Zhao Shu had no objection, and Sun Yun remained silent, following behind Xie Jinhuan. They found two or three more pavilions, all of which had people inside. However, the situation was the same as in the previous pavilion; the people simply bowed and smiled in greeting.
An eeriness permeated everything. Finally, the three found a pavilion by the stream. There was no one inside, only fruits and tea that had been laid out beforehand. "Let's stay here," Xie Jinhuan said, looking quite pleased.
Zhao Shu and Sun Yun exchanged a barely perceptible glance again, then entered the pavilion with her and sat down separately. She was very hospitable, making tea and offering them fruit.
However, Zhao Shu suddenly frowned slightly. There was nothing wrong with the fragrance itself, but there was something wrong with too many of them mixed together.
Xie Jinhuan gave Zhao Shu a meaningful look. "I've heard that the princess is knowledgeable in medicine?" she asked.
"I know a little." Zhao Shu said, standing up coldly, "Let's be frank and say what Miss Xie wants to do."
It's quite rare to see someone with a woman's hairstyle calling someone "young lady."
