Chapter 26 Vicious

The two stood facing each other at opposite ends of the prince's bed, guarding him, neither willing to give in.

Sun Yun and Liu Huan didn't bother to comfort the Crown Prince, because words were utterly inadequate and would only pierce his heart. Sun Yun personally brewed tea for the Crown Prince, and soon the room was filled with the aroma of tea.

The prince seemed to remember something, opened his eyes, and said to Xiao Guozi, "Why hasn't Ajun returned yet? Look around."

As soon as the Crown Prince spoke, everyone became puzzled. Logically speaking, since there was no sound coming from the outer room, the group looked at each other in confusion.

Xiao Guo hesitated. The princess had ordered him to protect the crown prince, and he also had the task of protecting Sun Yun. How could he go out casually?

As soon as Huo Danlan went out, Xique followed closely behind. Zhao Shu went out and took Zhihai with her. Little Zhuzi, that dead man, had not yet returned. He was under a lot of pressure and dared not leave casually.

Seeing that Xiao Guozi didn't move, the Crown Prince said weakly, "What? I can't persuade you?"

Liu Huan looked over coldly. When Xiao Guozi met Liu Huan's gaze, he quickly lowered his head. How could His Highness the Crown Prince not order him around? He was just being cautious.

Of all the people in the room, only Sun Yun understood Xiao Guozi. Just now, Xiao Guozi was punished for saving Zhao Shu first. If he went out now, no matter whose order it was, he would probably be punished again. Just then, the water in the small teapot boiled. She instructed Banshu to make tea and then stood up. "Your Highness, I'll go take a look."

The Crown Prince sighed and nodded slightly. With the Crown Prince's permission, Sun Yun opened the door and went out.

She had just stepped out of the inner room when she was stunned by the subtle atmosphere outside. On a coffee table lay two human heads. Upon seeing the heads, she exclaimed, "Ah!"

She screamed in surprise.

After shouting, he quickly covered his mouth with his hand. The person's face was deathly pale, with wide-open, angry eyes and blood-stained black hair. Under the light, it was extremely creepy.

Zhao Shu reached out and pulled her up, gently patting her back to help her breathe. "It's alright, it's alright, the person is dead, it's alright."

When Sun Yun saw a human head for the first time, her heart pounded. She looked at Zhao Shu with lingering fear and slowly removed her hand from her mouth. "It's because it's dead that I'm scared."

Huo Danlan cursed the masterminds who plotted to harm the Crown Prince in her heart. She was extremely helpless about Sun Yun's sudden appearance. If she had any sense of security, she would not have brought the child to Juanhua Tower. Moreover, Sun Yun was different from Zhao Shu. She was a daughter of the Sun family.

Helpless as she was, Sun Yun had already come out, so she had no choice but to leave her by her side to put her at ease.

Sun Yun's arrival seemed to break the delicate atmosphere. Huo Danlan pulled the two to her side, holding one in each hand, and waved, "Look again. This person is not Mr. Ouyang. Mr. Ouyang had many opportunities to make a move, but he didn't. He waited until tonight to make his move, which is unreasonable. Moreover, Mr. Ouyang and my Huo family have always been close. He only came after receiving a letter from Bai Chuan."

Zhao Shu's gaze fell on the two heads, one was Ouyang Ping's face, and the other was his medicine boy's face. They were indistinguishable. To be honest, she didn't believe it was them. But just as Huo Danlan said, Ouyang Ping had many opportunities to make a move, but he didn't. Why?

Could it be that Dayong really has the human skin masks described in martial arts novels? Zhao Shu was the first to disbelieve such a fallacy. Not to mention that the bone structure of each person is different, how could a piece of human skin make a person's face exactly the same as another person's?

With such amazing skills, why would anyone need plastic surgery?

However, despite her disbelief, she still walked up to the two heads, reached out and touched them. They weren't human skin masks, so were they silicone props? She looked them over carefully from left to right, but there were none.

Huo Danlan tried to stop Zhao Shu, but it was too late. She could only sigh to herself. Zhao Shu was still under the age of marriage. How could she be so bold at such a young age? Would something bad happen to her in the future?

She was used to seeing dead people; what was seeing dead people compared to her own hands? She had even killed people with her own hands. Otherwise, there would be no Huo Danlan now; she would probably just be mud under the flowers.

However, Zhao Shu was still a child, and she couldn't bear to see her like that. The fact that she was allowed to stay and watch over her showed that she didn't intend to raise her into a useless woman who was only good at fighting for love. Otherwise, she would have definitely sent someone to keep a close eye on her.

Women live in the inner quarters, yet war still rages, though ordinary people cannot see it. When those with blood on their hands collide with those with clean, paper-like hands, the one who is truly noble and unwilling to dirty her hands dies the most tragically.

She didn't want Zhao Shu to be kept in seclusion like a delicate flower. The Prince Yong's mansion had few people, and since she was the only child, it didn't matter how much she misbehaved; no one would criticize her.

But she is still young, yet not so young either. Her marriage needs to be considered gradually. Although she has no right to interfere in Zhao Shu's marriage, given the Empress Dowager's personality, she would love to leave the best man in the world to Zhao Shu. The best man in the world must have good family background, good looks, and good learning. Only the top families can raise such a man.

Pure white flowers cannot survive in aristocratic families. Therefore, even though she knew that Zhao Shu had used extremely cruel methods against Hao Jie and his son, she ignored it and let it be, only hoping that Zhao Shu would have the means to protect herself and live a peaceful life in the future, where no one could bully her.

As she was lost in thought, Peng Rui strode in and was met with a horrifying sight: Zhao Shu was examining two human heads closely. Even though he had crawled out of piles of corpses before, seeing such a little girl still made his heart tremble.

Zhao Shu looked closely but didn't see a human skin mask or any makeup props. However, she wasn't familiar with Ouyang Ping, so she couldn't tell from appearance alone that the head wasn't Ouyang Ping's.
