Wang Jiyang shook his head, not because he thought the suggestion was bad, but because the emperor was committed to creating a peaceful and prosperous era. Such a good suggestion should not be made by a mere military general like him. He should know that those who are too powerful and overshadow the emperor will not have a good ending.
Just as he was about to offer further advice, Zhang Chang walked in and respectfully handed Wei Tingsi a bamboo tube. Wei Tingsi opened the tube, took out the note inside, and began to read it.
Zhang Chang had barely stepped aside and was still catching his breath when the low table beside him was shattered by a teacup thrown by Wei Tingsi. With a loud "crack," even Wang Jiyang was startled.
"What's wrong?" He took the note from Wei Tingsi, opened it, and read it. Wei Tingsi had just finished reading it when he took the sword off the shelf and prepared to leave.
"Come back." Wang Jiyang hurriedly pulled Wei Tingsi back as he was about to leave, and said earnestly, "What does this matter have to do with you? If you rashly interfere, who knows what the Emperor will think."
“They actually used her! How can you expect me to tolerate this?” Wei Tingsi said coldly.
Zhang Chang was so frightened that he dared not move an inch and tried his best to make himself less noticeable. Fortunately, although Wang Jiyang was aloof, his temper was milder than Wei Tingsi's, and he waved for him to leave.
As if he had been given a second chance at life, Zhang Chang left the house, wiping away cold sweat.
"It's not a matter of exploitation, but Miss Sun has no relatives or friends, no backing, and only her as a close friend, and she has a fiery temper..." Before she could finish speaking, she received a cold glare from Wei Tingsi and quickly changed her words, "Princess Jun is righteous and quick-witted, known as the female Gan Luo. If Miss Sun doesn't seek her out, who else would she choose? Naturally, the Emperor and Lord Huo would go with the flow. She would charge ahead, and they, as elders, would protect her from behind. Why are you so agitated?"
Wei Tingsi slowly lowered his sword, his expression softening. Wang Jiyang secretly breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that praising someone also required skill.
Just as he breathed a sigh of relief, he heard Wei Tingsi say, "Go into the palace. If she is missing even a single hair, I will hold you responsible."
After saying this, he left without waiting for Wang Jiyang to return home, drawing his sword. This time, Wang Jiyang couldn't catch up even if he wanted to, and could only ask, "Where are you going?"
"The Sun family."
Inside the Sun residence, in the old lady's courtyard, Zhao Bi was surrounded by the residence's soldiers. He was neither anxious nor flustered, but asked Sun Yun with a puzzled look, "Sixth sister, what are you doing?"
"Fourth Prince, didn't you just call me Yun'er?" Sun Yun said sarcastically.
Zhao Bi's face turned cold, but his eyes quickly filled with sorrow as he said, "I know you are angry with me. I only want to protect you and make it up to you. When we are alone, I call you Yun'er, which is the name I cherish. But in front of others, I can only call you Sixth Sister, which is proper. I don't want to damage your reputation because of me."
As he spoke, he looked at Sun Yun with sorrowful and affectionate eyes, "Whether you believe it or not, here I am." He pointed to his heart, "You will always be the one residing here. It's hateful that fate has played such a cruel trick on you, making you misunderstand me. Do you know how much pain I feel here?" He touched his heart and said painfully, "Do you know how much pain I feel here?"
Wu Liang and the others exchanged bewildered glances. They hadn't expected the Fourth Prince to be like this. Seeing that his attempt to harm Miss Sun had failed, he started spouting nonsense. If he were truly worried about Miss Sun's reputation, why would he say such a thing?
However, Zhao Bi clearly knew that Zhao Shu would not spread the word about this place, and the soldiers would keep their mouths shut. If it got out, people would only say that Sun Yun was shameless, and that he was just a womanizer. After all, a man's life is all about being a womanizer.
"Is that so? Does the Fourth Prince's Consort know that you admire me so much?" Sun Yun asked slowly and deliberately.
Zhao Bi's expression remained unchanged as he gazed at her tenderly, and he said with heartache, "Yun..."
"Alright, stop spouting nonsense. Even if you were the crown prince, let alone just a prince, I would still rip your tongue out. Disgusting!"
She retorted sharply, and Zhao Bi's face turned pale and then red, looking extremely ugly. But what was even uglier was yet to come. Sun Yun slowly walked to the right side room and kicked the door open.
When the door opened, Sun Si appeared, her face already streaked with tears. "You two are a perfect match, deeply in love, harmonious and devoted to each other. You are truly a perfect couple."
Zhao Bi saw Sun Si inside the door and his face turned red with anger. He pointed at Sun Yun and said, "Why do you have to involve innocent people in my affairs? I once had feelings for you and wanted to protect you when you were in danger, but that was only to fulfill my childhood dream. She is now my wife, and all that happened in the past has nothing to do with her. How can you be so vicious? How can you bear to hurt your own sister? I misjudged you!"
His expression changed drastically. After speaking, he walked towards Sun Si and pulled her into his arms with domineering affection. Sun Yun did not stop him, but looked at the couple with sarcasm. "Fourth Prince's Consort, you should thank the Sun family for giving you life and raising you. It is because of the word 'Sun' that you have been able to deceive yourself for so long. You are not as good as before, but he will treat you even better. Because the whole world is watching him, how dare he abandon his wife who has shared his hardships?"
After saying that, he said to Wu Liang, "Let's go."
She couldn't kill the Fourth Prince, nor did she want to kill Sun Si, for fear of dirtying her hands. Besides, her husband would slowly take her life. As ruthless and heartless as Zhao Bi was, how could he tolerate a wife with no support guarding the backyard?
At this moment, Sun Gan was pacing anxiously in his study when his trusted confidant, Sun Qi, came to report: "Master, some of the guards have escaped, and Princess Jun will probably be here soon."
"Do you think I'm afraid of a mere woman like her?" Sun Ganzheng said sternly, but his slightly trembling hands betrayed his fear.
Sun Qi lowered his head and said, "Master, please make preparations as soon as possible. Although there is no evidence, this servant thinks the information is extremely reliable. Princess Jun is ruthless. She cut off the hands and feet of the Hao family father and son. She is capable of anything in a fit of rage."
