Chapter 56 Dog Abuse Part 1

“There’s a valley ahead, and a stream in the valley. I reckon there will be banana trees there. Banana leaves are big, so they’ll be good shelter from the rain.” He showed Zhao Shu with his actions that he definitely wouldn’t leave now.

Zhao Shu was helpless and annoyed. After feeling helpless, she sighed. After feeling annoyed, she sighed again and glared at him as he walked ahead to clear the way.

The road was narrow, and there were branches or thorns blocking the way from time to time. Out of caution, Gao Dan and the others did not cut down the branches and thorns blocking the way. Wei Tingsi carefully cleared away the branches and thorns in front of her.

After walking for about fifteen minutes, the sky was covered with dark clouds, and thunder rumbled in the distance. Gao Dan hadn't gone far when he stopped by a spring.

Seeing that Wei Tingsi had also come, the group kept their eyes down and remained expressionless, none of them daring to look at him for long. "Princess, it's going to rain. I'll go and pick some banana leaves."

Bananas generally grow in shady, watery places. Zhao Shu looked around and sure enough, there was a large patch of bananas growing beside the stream below the mountain valley.

He nodded. "Go ahead."

At his command, a squad of eleven soldiers rushed off as if they were being chased.

Zhao Shu glanced at Wei Tingsi. "My men are afraid of you. What did you do to them?"

Wei Tingsi looked at her innocently, "No." But at that moment, he was secretly plotting to find an opportunity to teach those brats a lesson, since Shushu had called them 'my people!'

Before long, Gao Dan and the others built a banana hut in the valley using banana leaves and tree trunks before the thunderstorm started. The banana hut was spacious enough that Zhao Shu could lie down or stand comfortably.

However, they all put on banana leaf robes and stood guard in various places. For a moment, it seemed that there were only two people in the entire valley, which made Zhao Shu feel very embarrassed.

During this time, Wei Tingsi didn't seem to be idle either. He gathered a large pile of dry firewood, and when the torrential rain started, he had already started a small fire in the banana hut.

Zhao Shu sat on the ground, on stones that Gao Dan had picked up. He had thoughtfully picked up two, just in case this general, whom he couldn't defeat, took the opportunity to sit with the princess. That was all the courage he had left.

Wei Tingsi sat down next to Zhao Shu. A cold wind blew in, carrying moisture. Zhao Shu shivered from the cold. How could the summer wind be so cold? She hugged her arms tightly, took a deep breath, and felt even colder.

"Put this on." Wei Tingsi took off his coat and handed it to Zhao Shu. Zhao Shu looked up at him, hesitating whether to take it or not, but she was really cold.

Before he could take it, he unfolded his coat and draped it over Zhao Shu. Another clap of thunder sounded in the sky, as if it were right above her head. Zhao Shu felt uneasy. Wei Tingsi frowned and said worriedly, "With such a thunderstorm, it looks like it's going to hail."

"You jinx!" Zhao Shu was furious. He said it would thunder and rain, and if it were to hail, how unlucky would she be today?

Wei Tingsi looked at him, hurt. Could telling the truth really make a woman angry? Why are women's hearts so hard to understand?

He stood up, looked at the small roof covered with many banana leaves, and said, "Don't come out, I'll go take a look."

Zhao Shu wanted him not to go, but he had already walked into the rain and disappeared in no time. However, a series of claps of thunder followed, as if they were hitting her head, and her heart clenched. Fortunately, this place was not on high ground or under a giant tree, which reassured her a little.

Not long after, I heard the sound of trees falling. The sound continued for a long time. I wanted to go out and see, but the rain was too heavy and the rain was blowing in. The wind was blowing the fire crookedly.

About fifteen minutes later, Wei Tingsi dragged over a bundle of fist-sized tall trees. The leaves of the trees were very dense, and Zhao Shu couldn't name them, so she just called them tall trees.

He reinforced the frame of the banana house with tall trees and placed wood on top to block the hail. But that wasn't enough. He threw a dagger and snapped three of the larger trees in half. The falling trees landed right on top of the house, forming a triangle.

Only after doing all this did he feel at ease entering the Banana House. He was soaked to the bone by the heavy rain and stood at the door to shield Zhao Shu from the wind, his undergarments dripping wet.

Backlit, Zhao Shu looked at him. His handsome but habitually cold face was dripping with water. Crystal water droplets clung to his sword-like eyebrows and long eyelashes. His tall and imposing figure, with his inner clothes soaked through, revealed his beautiful abs.

Zhao Shu couldn't help but reach out and touch her nose, thankfully there was nothing there.

"You, don't block the light." She said this almost unconsciously, then realized it wasn't quite right and added, "You're all soaked, warm yourself by the fire first, or you'll get sick."

“Okay.” He took two steps closer, but still used his body to shield himself from the cold wind, because he saw that Zhao Shu’s lips had turned blue from the cold.

Seeing him like this warmed Zhao Shu's heart, and she handed him her coat, saying, "Put this on."

"No need, I used to practice my skills naked in the freezing cold all the time." He didn't seem to care and put his coat on Zhao Shu.

Sure enough, just as he predicted, it started to hail outside. The hailstones weren't big, only about the size of a finger, but if they hit someone on the head, they would hurt terribly.

He must have experienced a lot of weather like this, otherwise he wouldn't be able to predict it so accurately, just like farmers who rely on the weather for their livelihood can know whether it will rain today.

You only understand after experiencing more.

Silently, Zhao Shu looked at him with sympathy. The eldest son of a first-class family, yet he had never enjoyed the privileges of a family's eldest son. If it were her, she would hate this family to the core and never stop until it was turned upside down.

She threw a piece of firewood into the fire to make it burn brighter, and Zhao Shu tentatively asked him, "Practicing martial arts must be very tough."

We are all ordinary people. If we want to become extraordinary, we have to put in ten times or even a hundred times more effort.
