Jiang Yue drank the poisoned tea and collapsed to the ground in agony, clutching her stomach and curling up in a ball. Tears streamed down her face as she glared hatefully at Prince Yong, her face deathly pale. "How cruel you are! I was so devoted to you, and you treat me like this!"
Prince Yong sat in his chair, coldly watching her writhe in agony. Jiang Yue was in pain for about half an hour before it subsided, and she didn't die. She gave a bitter laugh, "You still don't dare to kill me."
"If you hand over Song Tianhe, I will give you a quick death. If you don't, the first time you will suffer for half an hour, and the second time for an hour, with the time interval being only one hour."
The excruciating pain she had just experienced made her tremble all over, but how could pain make her give up? With her eyes glazed over, she said, "Even if it hurts to death, I will never let you know where Song Tianhe is."
Upon hearing this, Zhao Shu asked Wei Tingsi, "Does Your Excellency know of Song Tianhe?"
“Jiang Yue doesn’t have many capable people. If she really wants to hide Song Tianhe, and even your mother can’t find him, then the hiding place is not fixed. Now that so much time has passed, we can only start by investigating the Song family. If the princess doesn’t have time to go to Hangu Pass, I happen to be going to Hangu Pass on business, so I can investigate for the princess while I’m there.” He said unhurriedly, as if he were talking about something trivial.
His words came as a surprise, leaving Zhao Shu momentarily at a loss for words. However, if she could get Wei Tingsi's help, that would be even better. But receiving favors from others for no reason was not her style, so she pretended to be embarrassed and said, "I am so sorry to trouble you, sir."
Wei Tingsi answered quickly, "Why hasn't the princess replied?"
"Huh?" Zhao Shu was taken aback by the question and felt a little embarrassed. The letter he was talking about was the one that Li Zhuo had forwarded at Chamei Manor last time. The contents of the letter were a bit difficult for her, so she pretended not to see it.
“If the princess is too lazy to write, she can reply in person now, without needing anyone else to deliver it.” Wei Tingsi looked directly at her, his expectation hidden deep in his eyes, as if he were talking about something extremely ordinary.
Zhao Shu's eyes darted away. Dayong was ultimately different from the modern world, and she was afraid she might have misunderstood...
Unable to get a reply from Zhao Shu, Wei Tingsi said again, "Is even a form of address so difficult?"
"No, that's not proper. Please call me Princess, or you can call me A-Jun in private." Zhao Shu thought for a moment and decided it was better to refuse. Ordinary people called her Princess, and close friends called her A-Jun. Only A-Jiu would call her Shushu.
She didn't know what had gotten into Wei Tingsi, asking her if she could call her Shushu... Although she had been to the modern world, she was still quite conservative. Such an intimate nickname would give her goosebumps, let alone being called that by someone else. Moreover, Wei Tingsi had such a cold and aloof demeanor. It would be better if she had a pleasant and bright smile like Ajiu.
Upon hearing this, Wei Tingsi's eyes showed deep disappointment, but the disappointment only flashed for a moment before he returned to normal. "It's alright. Is the princess cold? I'll escort her back."
Before anyone knew it, Prince Yong had left, leaving only Jiang Yue there crying hysterically. Hearing the crying, Zhao Shu suddenly thought of a plan and said to Wei Tingsi, "My lord, I think we don't need to investigate anymore. I will make Jiang Yue tell the truth today."
"How should we do it?" Wei Tingsi had known Zhao Shu was intelligent from the beginning. From the military system to hair conditioner, everything she did surprised him. Now, hearing her words, his eyes lit up. A smart woman is like the moon in the sky. Even if the stars hide, they cannot hide her brilliance.
"Sir, please take me back first." It would be better to find someone who has met Song Tianhe.
Wei Tingsi stopped asking questions and avoided physical contact with her. He wrapped her in his cloak and led her away from Hanzhang Palace, directly back to the embroidery tower. Wei Tingsi did not enter the room, but stood on the corridor.
Seeing that he didn't come in, Zhao Shu said, "Please come in, sir. It's nothing." She could accept such a thing as entering a room.
But Wei Tingsi remained unmoved, rejecting Zhao Shu's suggestion with his actions, saying, "Princess, please tell me your plans."
"Playing the ghost." Zhao Shu smiled mysteriously and called downstairs, "Little Guo, Little Zhu, come quick."
When Wei Tingsi saw Zhao Shu calling for help, he leaped onto the roof. Before leaving, he didn't forget to take off Zhao Shu's cloak. Soon after, Chu Chun and Lu Luo came up. "Princess, when did you return? Where are Xiao Guozi and Xiao Zhuzi? Why aren't they with you? These two rascals have gotten bold, haven't they? They actually left you alone, Princess."
Zhao Shu: ...Looking up at the sky, she realized that the two men must have been knocked unconscious and were probably lying somewhere. Without them, what could she do? For the first time, Zhao Shu had the idea of learning martial arts.
Xiao Guozi and Xiao Zhuzi must have been knocked unconscious, so Han Ying probably isn't in much better shape either.
But things still need to be done.
She entered the room and gestured for the two to follow. Chu Chun, thinking that the princess had not yet eaten, said, "Princess, shall I bring up the meal?"
"No need for now. Go find me a white robe and a ghost mask. Oh, and some cinnabar too." After she finished speaking, she thought for a moment and then said, "Find me an official's robe and make a gavel. You don't need to make the gavel. Go to the Guanzhou government office and tell the prefect that I need to borrow the government office for one night."
Chu Chun was frightened by Zhao Shu's words and didn't understand what the princess wanted to do, but she still had to listen to the princess, so she braced herself and said, "Yes, this servant will go and do it right away."
Green Ivy listened for a while, but since it wasn't her business, she asked, "Princess, where is this servant?"
"Go find Xiao Guozi and Xiao Zhuzi, and tell them to come to the government office to find me. Go quickly." It was already late, but the white snow outside the window reflected a little light, so it wasn't completely dark and I couldn't see anything.
After the two girls went down, Wei Tingsi jumped down from the roof and said, "I will take Jiang Yue to wait for the princess at the government office."
Zhao Shu nodded, "Thank you, Lord Wei." She gave a big smile, but it was a little stiff, as she was extremely dissatisfied with his treatment of Xiao Zhu and Xiao Guo.
