Chapter 92 Farewell

Zhao Shu had never seen anyone who looked so much like her. She was clearly dressed as a man, from her features to her demeanor, from her eyes to her unintentional little gestures.

There was nothing that resembled him or that was different from him. From his appearance, he was taller than Zhao Shu. Boys grow faster, after all.

However, it is said that girls grow faster than boys when they are young. But Zhao Shu is about to turn 18, so maybe twin brothers will be taller.

There is no room for doubt, at least that's what outsiders think.

But Zhao Shu knew that this person did not have any telepathic connection with her. She had no experience and did not know whether real twins could have a telepathic connection, but this person in front of her gave her an extremely uncomfortable feeling.

He walked out without saying a word, just staring blankly at Zhao Shu, as if he was very surprised, at a loss, and a little bit expectant, hoping to be recognized.

The complex emotions in his eyes, mixed together, made him look somewhat aggrieved.

If this were her own brother, Zhao Shu thought it would be better not to have him.

Looking around, Zhao Shu didn't find a man who resembled Ouyang Ping. She sneered, "The doctors under Fourth Prince are really capable."

Upon hearing this, the man felt a sharp pain in his eyes, as if he had been struck by a blow, and his body swayed slightly.

This guy is a total white lotus, damn it, where is her brother! Zhao Shu couldn't help but want to curse, "You son of a bitch."

Zhao Bi didn't care at all. No matter what Zhao Shu said, it didn't affect him. "Sister A-Jun can finish him off with one strike, but as her older brother, I have to remind you that if you kill the wrong person, you will regret it later. People can't be brought back to life."

"It doesn't matter if I can't be resurrected. If I want brothers, my father is still young, so I'm not worried." When it comes to playing heart-pounding games and psychological games, Zhao Shu is no novice either.

Zhao Bi had experienced Zhao Shu's temper firsthand; she was ruthless and heartless. He wasn't disappointed, though. "Sister A-Jun, please do as you please. I'm leaving." He held up the imperial edict. "Do you intend to disobey this decree?"

"I won't let you leave today, and no one will tell anyone," Zhao Shu said confidently.

"Of course you can, all of you can, but Sister Jun, please don't forget one thing: secrets can't be kept forever. If you don't want people to know, then don't do it in the first place. Openly defying the imperial decree is a capital offense."

He was even more confident than Zhao Shu, and slowly walked up to the Crown Prince. "Seventh Brother, are you really at ease with such a group of unruly people? If it were Father Emperor, he wouldn't be at ease."

Ha, to plant thorns in the Crown Prince's heart, and so blatantly at that.

"You don't need to judge me with your petty mind. I am not like you. All of you ministers have devoted yourselves to the country and the people. You would never understand the trust between us, because you only have calculations in your heart, no feelings or principles." The Crown Prince was not afraid of him. If he wanted to sow discord, he didn't even consider who he was in front of.

Wei Tingsi, Yan Shiren, Chen Jianbo, and others are not petty people. They have their own scales in their hearts, weighing the world and people's hearts. They have their own opinions and cannot be easily swayed by others.

Zhao Shu sighed inwardly. Zhao Shu was indeed quite skilled at manipulating people's hearts. If the Crown Prince had been a little less assertive, he might have fallen into her trap.

Loyal and virtuous ministers hate suspicion and distrust the most. Once suspicion, dissatisfaction, and distrust arise, they will make many wrong judgments and take many wrong actions. One wrong step leads to another, and they will eventually be doomed.

"Heh." Zhao Bi didn't respond, nor did he want to waste time. "After all that talk, you still don't dare to kill me, nor do you dare to prevent me from leaving."

He made no attempt to hide anything from Yan Shiren and Chen Jianbo. He knew that the flood and plague had thoroughly offended the two of them, so he was very arrogant. "Goodbye, everyone."

Holding the imperial edict, the soldiers indeed dared not make any rash moves. Zhao Shu looked at him coldly, and everyone else looked at him coldly as they watched him disappear into the night.

He didn't take anyone else with him. Xiao Ruanzi and the others collapsed and vomited blood half an hour after he left. They had already taken poison. Zhao Shu didn't even think about finding someone to detoxify them. A group of people confronted the person who looked too much like Zhao Shu. Zhao Shu didn't ask any questions, and no one else interrupted.

The man remained silent.

The atmosphere was extremely awkward and strange.

"Your Highness, General, we've found the source of the disease," a soldier reported.

"I'll handle it." Yan Shiren and Chen Jianbo rushed out as if fleeing, leaving Zhao Shu, the Crown Prince, and Wei Tingsi behind. Seeing that something was wrong, the others also retreated to a distance, not wanting to hear any secrets.

It's common knowledge that the Prince Yong's mansion only has one child, Princess Jun. Now, there's another child who looks exactly like her, which is terrifying, like seeing a ghost.

The princess's face, in particular, was even colder than General Wei's.

After everyone who was supposed to leave had left, Zhao Shu chose a chair and sat down. The Crown Prince and Wei Tingsi sat down beside her, their eyes fixed on the person opposite them.

No one spoke. After another quarter of an hour, Zhao Shu thought this person was really calm and collected. Since no one else spoke, she was too lazy to say anything more. She stood up and said, "Burn this place down."

The Crown Prince and Wei Tingsi were both taken aback; this meant that the person should be burned as well.

However, after taking only two steps, the man spoke, "My name is Zhao Xie, that's the name they gave me."

Zhao Shu stopped in her tracks, but did not turn around.

Zhao Xie continued, "They only let me catch a glimpse of you from afar occasionally. Seeing you being bullied makes me very sad."

Zhao Shu felt a lump in her throat, her eyes welled up with tears, and her vision blurred.

This "you" is so unfamiliar, yet so heartwarming.

But she couldn't believe it, she couldn't accept it.

Many times, people say, "Zhao Shu's arrogance will only last a few years. Once the Empress Dowager dies and Prince Yong dies, what will she have left? Not even brothers."
