He then took out a dagger and threw it, breaking two small trees, each about the size of a calf, in half. The trees fell across the stream, right in front of him.
“It’s not good for you to cut down trees like this,” Zhao Shu said, taking out a handkerchief and spreading it on the tree trunk before sitting down. “Since you’ve already cut them down, you can’t waste them.”
Wei Tingsi was naturally a rough and unrefined man, unlike Zhao Shu who was particular about such things. He sat down next to her, and Zhao Shu felt that Qiao Mu only sank slightly. She couldn't help but look at him. He wasn't muscular, but he was very tall and imposing. Putting aside his beautiful abs, just his frame alone must have weighed at least a hundred pounds. How come he only sank slightly?
Could a tree the size of a calf really support 200 pounds?
I rinsed the hollow bubble, handed him one, ate one myself, and said, "It's super delicious."
Seeing that she was eating happily, Wei Tingsi also started eating, though not much. He only ate one piece when Zhao Shu offered him one. When Zhao Shu offered him another, he shook his head and said, "I'm afraid of sour food."
“It’s not sour, it’s very sweet.” Zhao Shu didn’t believe her, and stretched out her hand. “Are you afraid that if there’s none left, I won’t have any? This stuff tastes better when everyone shares it. If there wasn’t so little, I would have invited Gao Dan and the others to come and eat as well.”
Having his little scheme exposed, Wei Tingsi no longer stood on ceremony, took the small lantern-shaped wild fruit, and ate it with Zhao Shu.
"How did you know I left the city?" Zhao Shu suddenly asked while they were eating.
"I saw it." This answer seemed flawless, but it wasn't the answer either. Zhao Shu looked at herself in a sky-blue scholar's robe, her hair tied up with a feather crown. She was clearly dressed as a man. In Guanzhou, when she wore men's clothing, she was rarely recognized as a woman.
Bah, that's not the point. The point is, why isn't this guy training his troops at the camp? What's he doing wandering around the streets in broad daylight? And what a coincidence that I ran into him when I went out?
Her dark eyes stared at him suspiciously, as if she wouldn't look away until she told the truth. Wei Tingsi felt a chilly wind blowing from Zhao Shu's direction.
He reached out, and Zhao Shu instinctively leaned back. "You want to..." Before she could finish speaking, she lost her balance and fell backward. Below her was a babbling brook, its water crystal clear.
