Chapter 94 The Battle Begins

Prince Yong sighed, “If we don’t split up, once we take action, they will wipe us all out. Even if we die, we can’t all die here. So it’s decided that Xiao Fuzi and Mo Qin will each go and destroy the grain depot and the armory. After destroying them, escape and attract their attention. I will wait for you to come and rescue me inside.”

He believed that Xiao Fuzi and Mo Qin were capable of escaping, but if he and Sun Yun were added to the mix, it wouldn't be so certain. Moreover, everyone was injured to some extent, and if they didn't escape soon, they would definitely be exposed.

He had originally brought dozens of men with him, but now only a few remained, and they were all injured. As the master of the Prince's mansion, he would not abandon his subordinates who had risked their lives for him, and he did not want to see them all die here.

His attitude was firm, and neither Mo Qin nor Xiao Fuzi had a better solution. Even if they were highly skilled, they would still be no match for four people, let alone someone who didn't know martial arts.

"Your Highness, please wait for my return. Don't worry, I'll be back soon." Mo Qin gritted his teeth and agreed to Prince Yong's suggestion.

One person is not enough to destroy grain supplies and armories, even if you are a master of martial arts.

None of the surviving soldiers went out. Most of them were injured, and without tools or external assistance, they couldn't possibly scale walls like the suicide soldiers, since they hadn't been practicing martial arts for very long.

Therefore, Xiao Fuzi and Mo Qin each chose assassins who knew how to use light-body skills, and Ma Gui and Ma Fu went together.

The four of them used the excuse of going to the restroom to leave quietly.

Soon, it got completely dark; there was no moon or stars, and it looked like it was about to rain.

Summer nights are teeming with mosquitoes, and the stench is strong. Add to that the soldiers snoring, drinking, and gambling, and the environment is absolutely terrible.

The guards took good care of the two maids, Ma An and Ban Shu, but they dared not take care of their mistress, Sun Yun. Ma An and Ban Shu took turns resting, but Sun Yun could not sleep even with someone watching over her.

Although everyone around me was reliable, I felt very uncomfortable. My eyes were bloodshot, and I sat in a corner, desperately trying to suppress the smell and the noise.

Actually, she could go out for some fresh air, but she was petite and had fair skin. If you looked closely, you could tell at a glance that she was a woman. She didn't know martial arts, so she could only hide behind others.

Prince Yong saw that she was covered in sweat but endured it silently. He thought of his own daughter and how she had probably endured it just as much when she was bullied.

He reached out and patted Sun Yun on the shoulder, "I'll take you out for a walk."

The only places the soldiers could move around were the courtyard and the path to the latrine.

Sun Yun looked up. Reason told her that she had to endure it, because only by enduring it could she survive. But her emotions told her to go out, to go out with them.

A fierce struggle ensued between reason and emotion, but in the end, emotion triumphed over reason. She stood up as if possessed and followed Prince Yong out of the house.

The two simply walked out of the house and didn't go anywhere. The guards and Banshu kept an eye on them but didn't follow.

The courtyard was very small, only a few square meters. There was a well, so people would draw water to drink when they were thirsty.

The small courtyard was packed with people.

A burly man saw Prince Yong and Sun Yun and approached with ill intent. Especially when he saw Sun Yun's petite and delicate figure and her exposed fair skin, a wicked thought arose in his mind. "Young man, where are you from?"

After saying that, he reached out to pinch Sun Yun's chin, but Prince Yong pulled Sun Yun behind him and asked, "I wonder if you are asking about my ancestral home, or something else?"

"Did I ask you? Get out of my way." The big man was furious when he saw that Prince Yong was better in stature and demeanor than him. Even just standing there, he seemed to be hundreds of miles ahead of him. Most importantly, he had snatched the person he had his eye on.

Clearly, he was the local tyrant, a big, burly man with a broad back and a powerful build. His roar made everyone's hearts tremble.

“If you don’t allow it, what can you do?” Prince Yong’s face turned cold, and he stood there motionless.

The burly man was furious. "How dare you disobey Laozi!" He raised his fist to strike Prince Yong.

Several guards immediately clenched their fists, ready to step forward to protect him.

But Prince Yong easily dodged it, a calm smile appearing on his face. "Brother, causing trouble in the army is punishable."

"I don't care what punishment you give me, take this punch!" He swung his fist again.

People with such large physiques and great strength are actually quite easy to deal with. Prince Yong skillfully dodged them, and before long, he had led Sun Yun to the well.

The burly man missed several times and became furious. He chased after Prince Yong, and just as his fist was about to hit Prince Yong's face, Prince Yong threw down the bucket next to him.

The bucket rolled a few times until it reached the big man's feet. He was only focused on beating up Prince Yong and didn't pay any attention to the bucket at his feet.

He lifted his foot and stepped over it.

However, what he didn't notice was that there was a rope on the bucket. When Prince Yong pulled the rope, the bucket rolled back and stopped right where the big man had landed.

The big man stepped on the wooden barrel. It was too heavy, and the barrel broke with a 'crack,' but he also fell and got a mouthful of mud.

"No need for such a formal ceremony, a simple apology will suffice."

"Hahaha." The soldiers who were watching the commotion burst into laughter upon hearing Prince Yong's words, while the burly man was so angry that he pounded the ground.

He got up, shouting, "I'll take your life!" and lunged at him again.

"What are you doing? Do you want a whipping?" At this moment, a supervisor came over.

The guards and Banshu were all on tenterhooks, and Sun Yun hid behind Prince Yong.

The person who came seemed to be a centurion or something similar. He spotted Prince Yong at a glance. There was no way around it; among all the people in the courtyard, he stood out from the crowd. His overall demeanor was something that ordinary people could not possess.

Upon arriving before Prince Yong, he couldn't immediately see the prince's face because the armor covering most of his cheeks. "You, everyone else has taken off their helmets, why didn't you?"
