They watched as the servants downstairs called out to Mo Xiangtian, who had been knocked unconscious on the ground.
Mo Jing didn't even have time to notice the smile on Grandma Ling's face when she heard the maid's call. She ran downstairs in three quick steps to check on Mo Xiangtian.
"Quickly call Dr. Li and invite him over." Seeing the group of helpless servants, Mo Jing immediately ordered, "You two help me carry him to the room first." Dr. Li is the Mo family's family doctor.
After Dr. Li arrived, he examined Mo Xiangtian and found that he only had superficial injuries and nothing serious. Grandma Ling, being elderly, had won the initial attack due to her ambush, but ultimately lacked the strength. However, Mo Xiangtian had fractured his arm when he fell down the stairs.
After Dr. Li left, Mo Jing sat by Mo Xiangtian's bedside, her hand bandaged and draped around her neck. Her once youthful face was now covered with bluish stubble on her chin, and her eyes betrayed her undeniable weariness.
He's always been very clean, and he seems exhausted and hasn't had a proper rest in a long time.
"Is the company very busy?" After all, he was this body's father, and besides, Mo Jing had inherited the previous memories, so she seemed to have an inexplicable feeling towards Mo Xiangtian. Especially that time when he carried her to bed while she was asleep. His careful and concerned demeanor at that moment was genuine.
Mo Xiangtian was taken aback, not expecting Mo Jing to ask such a question. Then he realized that it must be because he looked tired and hadn't shaved that Jingjing asked the question.
"Do I look very old now?" For some reason, Mo Xiangtian suddenly began to care about his image in his daughter's eyes.
"A little!" Despite seeing Mo Xiangtian injured and bedridden, Mo Jing's initial unease had subsided, and she felt a strange sense of unease. Although his concern last time was genuine, she remembered how he had pushed her into a dangerous situation despite knowing what kind of person Han Wenlei was. It was impossible for him to completely erase all her previous resentment towards Mo Xiangtian just because he had shown her concern last time.
Seeing Mo Jing's indifferent expression, Mo Xiangtian was momentarily speechless. He knew Jingjing was definitely blaming him. He hadn't taken good care of her all these years, and even knowing Han Wenlei was a womanizer, he still insisted she marry him. In the end, she was now a laughingstock in high society, unable to find a husband.
A head peeked in through the doorway. When she saw that Mo Xiangtian had spotted her, Grandma Ling walked in somewhat guiltily and said, "I thought it was a thief, that's why I did that. Actually, you should blame yourself for not turning on the lights when you got home."
Mo Xiangtian glared angrily at Grandma Ling. He was in this state because of her, and she still dared to say such sarcastic things.
Grandma Ling glared back without hesitation, "It was your fault to begin with!"
In Grandma Ling's mind, all she wanted was a granddaughter-in-law. As for whether the old man had feelings for her, she couldn't care less.
Watching the two of them bickering, Mo Jing shook her head helplessly. Grandma Ling was probably old enough to be Mo Xiangtian's mother, yet the two of them were acting so childishly.
