When Ling Moyuan returned with two wild rabbits, Mo Jing was quietly leaning her head back behind a tree trunk, her eyes closed as if she were resting.
Long, curled eyelashes rested on her eyelids, casting a dark shadow.
There was a slight sheen of sweat on her fair face, perhaps due to the hot weather.
Sunlight cast a profile shadow on her delicate, slender neck.
Ling Moyuan was somewhat mesmerized by her gaze. Only when she was asleep would this aloof yet secretly passionate man look at her with such bold eyes. Gradually, his ears turned slightly red again.
He slowly approached her, placed the helpless rabbit in his hand aside, and was about to take off his coat and drape it over her shoulders. Although it was summer now and the temperature in the Black Forest was not low, the humidity was still quite high.
As soon as he took off his clothes, Ling Moyuan looked up at Mo Jing, and suddenly his bright, black gem-like eyes widened. He quickly ran to Mo Jing's side.
Two small red spots appeared on Mo Jing's once fair and clean neck. Ling Moyuan grabbed Mo Jing's arm, took her pulse, and finally, worry and panic were evident on his face.
Damn it, it's all his fault, it's all his fault, why did he have to leave her?
Ling Moyuan looked around with his cold eyes for a while and then spotted the culprit who caused the red mark on Mo Jing's neck.
Tarantulas are known for their eight black eyes, thick, spiny legs, and agile movements, making them excellent runners and jumpers. Most importantly, their venom is extremely potent, second only to the black widow's; a bite can be fatal without prompt medical attention.
With a flick of his wrist, Ling Moyuan sent out a sharp dagger that pinned the tarantula to death before it could escape, sensing the danger.
Ling Moyuan wrapped the unconscious Mo Jing in his clothes and carried her quickly into the forest.
The venom of the tarantula is colorless and bitter. After being bitten, death will occur within eight hours due to the paralysis caused by the bite.
In fact, tarantula venom is not incurable; it can be neutralized with the appropriate antivenom.
But they're inside Hessen now. It took them several days to get in, and even if they get out quickly, they can't get back within eight hours. Unless they're given a helicopter right now.
Since going straight ahead won't work, the only option is to take a sideways approach.
Mo Jing was poisoned, and her face was covered in sweat, which quickly soaked her clothes.
The wound started to swell.
Ling Moyuan led Mo Jing to a very large, century-old tree.
One section of the tree was hollow. Ling Moyuan carefully placed Mo Jing under the tree not far away. This time, he sprinkled a layer of special medicinal powder around her to prevent snakes, insects, and rodents from getting close.
Then he went to the big tree again and saw through the light that there was a hollow in the tree with two spotted poisonous trees intertwined, seemingly mating.
Ling Moyuan's eyes turned cold, and he swiftly grabbed the heads of the two snakes, subduing them.
They dragged them out of the tree hole and then slammed them against the tree. The two snakes were instantly knocked unconscious.
Ling Moyuan took out a small knife from his body, picked up the two snakes, and skillfully and quickly skinned and extracted their gallbladders.
