Chapter 389 The Beginning of Happiness

When Mo Jing returned home, Ling Moyuan was cooking. After changing her shoes, she placed the pot of jasmine on the coffee table and walked into the kitchen.

Ling Moyuan stood tall and slender in the kitchen. He was clearly the least suited person to be in the kitchen, but the way he cooked was pleasing to the eye.

Feeling the intense gaze behind him, Ling Moyuan turned around and said with a smile, "It's only just started making it, it'll be a while before we can eat it. Why don't you go watch some TV in the living room first?"

Mo Jing walked over and took the shovel from Ling Moyuan's hand. "I'll do it today. Your back injury hasn't fully healed yet, so avoid going into places like the kitchen where there's oil and smoke."

Someone once said that couples inevitably have their disagreements. But her relationship with Ling Moyuan always seemed as calm and peaceful as a lake in winter. Yet, despite the calm, she could often feel Ling Moyuan's care for her in the small, everyday things. He was a man who preferred to do more than talk.

Looking at Mo Jing's serene and beautiful face, Ling Moyuan surprisingly stole a kiss from her before calmly leaving.

Mo Jing covered her cheek where she had been kissed; it was warm and seemed to still retain Ling Moyuan's unique scent. A slow smile appeared on her lips. Suddenly, in that moment, she felt that she could be happy like an ordinary girl.

Although Ling Moyuan had always doted on her in the past, perhaps because she had something on her mind and had not yet avenged herself, it was always difficult for her to be truly happy from the bottom of her heart.

But now she truly felt a sweetness welling up from the bottom of her heart, a feeling of great happiness. She realized that wanting happiness was such a simple thing.

...

The food on the table was simple, yet it created a warm and cozy atmosphere.

"Are you really not going to attend Feng Tianxiang's hearing tomorrow?" Ling Moyuan asked casually as he drank the chicken soup Mo Jing had served him.

"I'm not going. I never want to have anything to do with them again in my life." Everything was more or less resolved. She didn't want to live in the past anymore; she wanted to move forward and look to the future.

"Mo Yuan, come with me to see my mother tomorrow!"

Ling Moyuan raised his head slightly, "Okay."

The jasmine flowers on the coffee table outside were in full bloom, their delicate fragrance wafting through the air.

...

In the cemetery.

The place where the dead are buried still feels very damp, even though it's a sunny day.

On the cold gravesite, Mo Jing looked at the black and white photograph of Bai Sui, who was smiling as if she were looking at Mo Jing.

"Mom, it's me, Sihang. Even though I've changed my face, I believe you can recognize me, right?" Mo Jing squatted down, placed the white calla lily in her hand in front of her grave, and wiped away the dust next to it with her hand. This was her mother's favorite flower when she was alive.

"I brought someone with me to show you today. His name is Ling Moyuan, and he is the man your daughter wants to spend her life with."

Ling Moyuan held Mo Jing's hand tightly, their fingers intertwined. His usually angular face softened considerably, perhaps because he was seeing an 'elder'. "Auntie, I'm Moyuan." He didn't say much, only conveyed his sincerity.

“Mom, Feng Tianxiang and Shen Xiangming have all received their due punishment, and I have also taken back the Bai family. I have not let you down. Before, I felt very tired living in hatred every day. Now I want to live my own life. Please bless me from heaven, Mom.”
