Watching Yin Yuerong leave angrily, Mo Jing turned back and smiled, saying, "Thank you both just now." Han Meijuan smiled and said, "No need to thank me, no need to thank me. We'll be family sooner or later anyway..."
Mo Jing asked, puzzled, "What?" Ling Zhenjie quickly stopped his mother and said awkwardly, "Ah, nothing!" Then he glared at his mother, extended his hand to Mo Jing and said, "You must be Miss Mo Jing? Hello, my name is Ling Zhenjie, and I am Ling Moyuan's younger brother."
Mo Jing extended her hand and shook his, somewhat surprised: "Oh, I see. Hello."
Ling Zhenjie then pointed to Ling Meijuan standing to the side and said, "This is my mother, Han Meijuan."
Upon hearing this, Mo Jing quickly turned around and said, "Hello, Auntie." Han Meijuan smiled and said, "Hello, hello." Just as she was about to say something more, she was interrupted by a cold voice: "What are you doing here?"
Without even looking, it was clear that only Ling Moyuan could utter such a cold voice. It turned out that he hadn't seen Mo Jing return home for a while and was worried something might have happened, so he came to check on her, only to find his mother and younger brother there.
Han Meijuan said unhappily, "Who told you to have a girlfriend and not tell the family? You were secretly meeting her here all by yourself. What were you going to do if I didn't come over and you hid my daughter-in-law?"
Upon hearing this, Mo Jing realized that Han Meijuan was referring to her as her daughter-in-law. But when did she become Han Meijuan's daughter-in-law? How come she didn't know? She looked at Ling Moyuan with a puzzled expression.
Ling Moyuan didn't answer, but gently took her hand: "Why are you only getting back now? The dishes are all served, let's go eat." He glanced at his mother and younger brother as he spoke. Han Meijuan and Ling Zhenjie understood Ling Moyuan's personality and quickly followed him.
Throughout the meal, Ling Moyuan ate his food indifferently, only occasionally placing things that would aid in wound healing into Mo Jing's bowl. Actually, Mo Jing's injury had already healed, but she couldn't refuse in front of the elders; otherwise, people might have thought they were flirting.
Ling Zhenjie was already used to his older brother's indifference, and quietly ate his food, quite content with himself.
Only Han Meijuan kept pulling Mo Jing aside, asking her all sorts of questions, as if afraid of missing anything. She liked Mo Jing more and more each time she looked at her daughter-in-law; she couldn't let her son lose her.
Mo Jing quietly ate the food that Ling Moyuan and Han Meijuan kept putting on her plate, occasionally answering Han Meijuan's questions. She couldn't help but frown slightly at the food in her bowl that seemed to keep disappearing no matter how much she ate. Han Meijuan was probably too happy, constantly piling food onto her plate; how could she possibly finish it all? And she couldn't refuse, which was a real hardship for Mo Jing, who never had a big appetite.
In the end, Ling Moyuan noticed her odd behavior, took her plate, and calmly began eating amidst everyone's astonished gazes.
Ling Zhenjie blinked, remembering how he had accidentally taken his brother's water glass and taken a sip during a meal at home. His brother then made him get another glass and pour him another cup – a clear sign of his disdain.
But what's happened now? They're even eating what the other person has left over. That's a huge difference.
Han Meijuan thought it was a good idea; that's how men should cherish their women. Mo Jing, on the other hand, felt a little embarrassed.
Finally, the meal ended. Han Meijuan had originally planned to take her future daughter-in-law shopping to build a relationship, but unexpectedly, her scoundrel son took them directly to the airport and back to Kyoto.
