The west wing of the Prince's Mansion was silent, with only the old voice of the Grand Tutor floating through the window lattice: "In the past, Confucius..." Before he finished speaking, he was interrupted by a clear child's voice: "Grandpa Grand Tutor, can Confucius be eaten?"
The Taifu's hand, clutching the scroll, trembled violently, his white beard quivering. "Your Highness, Confucius is the most holy teacher. How can you allow such a joke?"
Hekeng sat on a carved rosewood chair, his chubby legs dangling from side to side, clutching a stuffed animal. Blinking his almond-shaped eyes, which mirrored Shen Weiwan's, he asked curiously, "Does Grandpa Confucius have a beard? Is it longer than Grandpa Taifu's?"
The Grand Tutor sighed helplessly as he gazed at the infant before him. He was a well-read man, having taught at least eight if not ten princes and grandchildren, but he had never encountered a student as mischievous as Kenken. At only three years old, his mind was more active than a monkey's. In class, he was either playing with insects or pulling his beard. It was a literal Waterloo for the Grand Tutor's career.
"Confucius naturally had a beard..." the Taifu patiently explained, "and it was very long, so he was called 'The Man with Beautiful Beard'."
"Oh~" He suddenly realized, and his little hand secretly reached into his sleeve pocket and took out a small paper bag. It was the "small gift bag" that Shen Weiwan specially made for him, which contained itching powder, chili powder and small stones.
The Master was still talking, shaking his head, completely oblivious to Kengkeng's small movements. Suddenly, a puff of fine powder drifted onto his beard, and an itchy sensation instantly hit him.
"A-choo!" The Master sneezed and subconsciously scratched his beard. Unexpectedly, the scratching only made the itchiness worse, as if thousands of ants were crawling on it.
"What's going on..." The Master frowned and scratched a few more times, but the more he scratched, the more it itched it became, and even his cheeks started to itch. He couldn't help but put down the book and scratched his face with both hands, making his white beard a mess.
Sitting on a chair, watching the master frantically busying around, his eyes widened into a smile, his little mouth showing two tiny canine teeth: "Grandpa Master, is there a bug on your face?"
The Taifu was too itchy to answer, he just wanted to stop the itch. He reached out to touch his beard, but accidentally pulled the wig. With a "pop", the wig was pulled off his head!
"Ah!" the Taifu exclaimed, his bald head gleaming in the sunlight. He was old, his hair thinning, and usually relied on a wig to maintain his appearance, but today, he was so itchy that he pulled it off.
Seeing this, Kengkeng clapped his hands and laughed out loud: "Grandpa Taifu has become bald! Hahaha! Bald Grandpa!"
The Grand Tutor was both embarrassed and annoyed, his face flushed red. He pointed at the pit and was speechless: "You...you little troublemaker!"
At this moment, a burst of laughter came from outside the window. Shen Weiwan was peeking through the crack of the window, watching with great pleasure. When she saw that the master's wig had fallen off, she immediately made a gesture to Chuntao beside her: "Did you see that? My son did a great job!"
Chun Tao covered her mouth to stifle laughter and whispered, "Miss, the Grand Tutor is so angry, and you're still laughing."
"This is called surpassing the master!" Shen Weiwan said proudly, "When I cheated Liu family back then, it was much worse than this. This is just the beginning. Next time I should try sprinkling chili powder!"
As he was speaking, Xiao Yu came over and saw Shen Weiwan lying on the windowsill. He shook his head helplessly: "Are you teaching your son to cheat people again?"
"What do you mean by teaching? This is talent!" Shen Weiwan turned around and said confidently, "Look how smart Kengkeng is. He even knew to sprinkle itching powder on the Taifu's beard."
Xiao Yu looked in the window and saw the Taifu frantically putting on a wig. He saw Henhe laughing beside him. He was suddenly at a loss for words: "You really want to cause chaos in the world."
"It's more lively when things are chaotic!" Shen Weiwan pulled Xiao Yu's hand, "Let's go in and see Grandpa Taifu. Don't really make him angry."
The two walked into the study. The Grand Tutor had just put on his wig when he saw Xiao Yu and Shen Weiwan coming in. He immediately said as if he had seen a savior: "Your Highness the Seventh Prince, Your Highness the Princess, you are finally here. Please take care of the little prince. This old minister is really..."
When Kengkeng saw his parents coming in, he immediately jumped off the chair and threw himself into Shen Weiwan's arms: "Mom, Grandpa Taifu is bald!"
Shen Weiwan picked up Kengkeng and pretended to be surprised and said, "Oh, Taifu, why did your hair fall out? Is Kengkeng naughty?"
He blinked his eyes, looking innocent: "No, I just sprinkled some 'fragrant powder' on Grandpa Taifu."
When the Imperial Tutor heard the name "fragrant powder," he immediately understood: "That's itching powder! My Lord, that's itching powder!"
Shen Weiwan suppressed her laughter and said to the Taifu, "Taifu, don't be angry. The child is ignorant. I will teach him a lesson later." As she spoke, she patted Kangkang's butt lightly.
But Kengkeng was not afraid. Instead, he made a face at the Taifu: "Grandpa Taifu, next time I'll sprinkle chili powder on you. It's more fun than itching powder!"
When the Grand Tutor heard the word "chili powder," he took a step back in fear, his beard trembling: "Your Highness, you can't do that! You can't put that stuff on your face!"
Xiao Yu quickly tried to smooth things over: "Taifu, calm down. He's still young, and I will discipline him properly. Let's stop here for today and let Taifu go back and rest."
The Taifu was as if he had been pardoned, and hurriedly packed up his things: "Yes, yes, yes, I'll take my leave. Take my leave." Before leaving, he didn't forget to glare at Kenkeng, his eyes full of despair.
After the Taifu left, Shen Weiwan couldn't help laughing any longer, and laughed out loud: "I'm dying of laughter. Didn't you see the Taifu's expression? It was even more bitter than eating Coptis chinensis."
Xiao Yu looked at her helplessly: "You, you only know how to pamper him. If Kengkeng becomes lawless in the future, let's see what you will do."
