Chapter 43 Not Their Type

Is it a boy?

Mrs. Shen's heart suddenly dropped, and she looked at Fubao with a reproachful look, "Nannan, why didn't you tell me earlier? You scared me to death, don't you know? I thought it was one of those kidnappers, and I was afraid that you would be kidnapped!"

Shen Zhile laughed and said, "Grandma, what about me? Aren't you afraid that I'll be kidnapped?"

"You? You're so old, if you're still kidnapped, it would be a disgrace to me!" Old Mrs. Shen knew that those matchmakers and kidnappers specifically kidnapped young children, usually under six years old. Such children are still young and easy to discipline, so it's easier for them to adapt to new families after being sold.

Shen Zhile is already ten years old and is not their type.

Shen Zhile snorted deliberately, “Grandma, you’re not nervous about me at all.”

Old Madam Shen said confidently, "I am just worried about our daughter, do you have any objection?"

"What a coincidence! Me too! I'm the most nervous sister."

Fu Bao was amused by Shen Zhile's words and started laughing. When he saw her laugh, Shen Zhile also laughed. He loved seeing his sister laugh the most.

Old Madam Shen, however, had a serious look on her face. She patted his head and warned him, "So while I'm working, you keep an eye on Fubao. If anything happens to her, I won't forgive you!"

"Okay!" Shen Zhile happily accepted the task.

For lunch, we had the usual white steamed buns, sweet potatoes, porridge, and a small dish of salted radish.

Fubao's bowl of porridge was much better, it was real porridge, and it had minced meat, which was especially fragrant. This was specially made by Old Lady Shen for Fubao, but Shen Zhile didn't have it.

Shen Zhile was not annoyed at all. In his opinion, this was natural, and the best things should be given to his sister. So even though he drooled at the smell of the fragrance, he did not touch the bowl of porridge.

Before dinner, Fubao went to see Old Man Shen. She knew that Old Man Shen would be in a good mood when he saw her, so she naturally wanted to make the old man happy.

Fubao wanted to give his bowl of porridge to Old Man Shen, but he was unwilling to do so and waved his hands repeatedly, "Fubao, this is for you to eat, take it out quickly, Grandpa doesn't want to eat it."

"Grandpa, just eat a few bites. You need to eat more to get better."

"That won't work. Fubao, grandpa has bad teeth and can't chew meat, so you eat it. Be good." Old man Shen coughed a few times as he spoke. Fubao quickly climbed onto the bed, stretched out his little hands and patted his back to help him calm down.

After my grandfather became paralyzed in bed, he also contracted this disease and kept coughing. Sometimes it seemed as if he was going to cough out his lungs, which made the whole family very worried.

Old Madam Shen and Shen Zhile came in upon hearing the noise. Seeing that Old Man Shen was coughing badly, Old Madam Shen asked worriedly, "Old man, are you okay?"

After finally stopping his cough, Old Man Shen said in a hoarse voice, "It's okay. Take the kids out and don't let them come into this room often."

Mrs. Shen immediately went over and picked up Fubao. She didn't know what disease the old man had, but he coughed so badly every day. She was worried that Fubao would be infected if he stayed in the house for too long, so even though she felt sorry for the old man, she still took Fubao away and took Shen Zhile out with her.

Fubao was sitting at the table eating porridge. Thinking of Old Man Shen's thin and haggard appearance, she felt uncomfortable and had no appetite at all. She looked up at Old Lady Shen and said with a pout, "Grandma, shall we take Grandpa to see a doctor?"
