Chapter 132 Revenge

After Shen Heng finished speaking, everyone present gasped in shock.

For Shen Heng to dig up his father's grave by himself is an act of utter treason.

Those who are just watching the show can only ask: Isn't Shen Heng afraid when it rains and thunders, doing things this way?

Shen Heng added, "You'd better pray that your son can outlive me. As long as I live, don't even think about burying him next to my father."

Shen Heng's mother died when he was born, so he didn't have any feelings for her. But he enjoyed seeing Widow Zhou driven mad by him.

He had originally planned to surprise Widow Zhou on the day she died, but Shen Heng couldn't hold back today.

Upon hearing this, Widow Zhou rolled her eyes as if she had fainted from anger.

"Mother!"

Shen Hui rushed over and shook Widow Zhou, but no matter how he shook her, she wouldn't wake up. The crowd hurriedly carried Widow Zhou home, and Shen Hui took the opportunity to go back with her, escaping from everyone's sight.

Li Shiqing was distracted by Shen Heng, and he wasn't so angry with Shen Hui anymore.

"You really dug up your father's grave?"

Li Shiqing's face contorted slightly when he asked the question.

Everyone was poor, and no one could afford a coffin. When Shen Heng's father passed away, cremation was not common. They would just wrap him in a straw mat and bury him on the mountain. If Shen Heng had gone to exhume the grave the year before last, he would have dug out nothing but bones.

Li Shiqing felt a chill just thinking about it.

"Yeah, they dug it up after they finished visiting the graves. It wasn't until Qingming Festival that the grass grew back, and nobody noticed."

Li Shiqing looked at Shen Heng as if they were having a casual chat, and said these words without changing his expression.

Shouldn't he praise him a bit? He's surprisingly careful in doing this kind of thing, knowing he can't let anyone find out.

Bai Shiqing's baby was saved despite a slight mishap. Li's mother exclaimed "Thank goodness!" and thought to herself that she would never let Bai Shiqing go out again.

Bai Jiaojiao was still thinking about the pork. On her way back, she noticed that the villagers she passed were looking at her with very strange eyes, which puzzled her.

"Uncle Qing, my sister is alright, don't worry. Have you found out who hit her yet?"

“Shen Hui bumped into it. He said it was an accident, and his mother even knelt down before me.”

Li Shiqing's hesitant expression towards Bai Jiaojiao made her even more puzzled.

"What's wrong with them? Why did Shen Hui hit my sister? Did he say anything? Why are people looking at me so strangely?"

Your man goes around digging up other people's graves during the Lunar New Year. Who can look at you normally then?

From then on, another legend about Shen Heng in Shili Village was added: he would not let you have an easy time while you were alive, and he would not let you go even after you died, which was even more frightening.

"It's nothing, we can't catch this pig, let's wait for the next one."

Shen Heng pulled Bai Jiaojiao closer to his chest, afraid that she would be frightened, and didn't tell her about digging up the grave.

Bai Jiaojiao said, "Why would Shen Hui bump into my sister for no reason?"

"I don't know. He's just that kind of despicable person, he hurts people for no reason."

They were unaware that Li Xiulian was manipulating things behind the scenes. The reason Li Xiulian approached Shen Hui was twofold: firstly, because Shen Hui was foolish enough and easily fooled; and secondly, because Shen Hui and Shen Heng were brothers. Regardless of their blood relation, they were still related by blood. If he could cause Bai Shiqing's child to miscarry, it would either strain the relationship between Bai Shiqing and Bai Jiaojiao's families, leaving no room for anyone to think about her manipulating things behind the scenes, or Bai Shiqing would suppress the matter out of respect for Shen Heng, preventing it from escalating further, which would only encourage her to push things along further.

Li Xiulian's plans were meticulously executed, and with the help of Widow Zhou today, the matter seems to have been truly settled.

When Li Xiulian heard this, although she was angry that Bai Shiqing's baby was fine, she was still happy that she could make Bai Shiqing suffer.

When Shen Hui came to find Li Xiulian, she readily gave him half a peach shortbread: "You did a good job this time. If you dare to do it again, I have more peach shortbread here."

With the protection of Widow Zhou, Shen Hui received almost no punishment for his actions.

"Why wouldn't I dare to do it! Just you wait and see!"

Shen Hui thought that these peach shortbreads were so profitable that he wished he could eat Li Xiulian out of house and home.

Li Shuxian was furious at home, and was about to raise his fist to go to the Shen family's house to beat them up when Bai Shiqing stopped him: "Why are you arguing with a child? And his mother is like that..."

Bai Shiqing was also furious, but the other woman was a widow with a child, and she hadn't really gotten into any trouble this time. How could she hold a grudge against Shen Hui? Did she really want Li Shuxian, a grown man, to drag the child out and beat him up?

Li Shuxian walked around the yard several times with his hands on his hips.

"Li Shutao, you take a few guys you're close to and beat that kid to a pulp in the snow. Don't come home until his clothes are soaked, you hear me?"

Li Shutao is only two years older than Shen Hui; if you had to say, he's still a child.

Li Shutao immediately obeyed the order: "Don't worry, brother, I will definitely avenge my sister-in-law!"

Li Shiqing was unaware of this matter; otherwise, given his personality, he would have definitely stopped it.

As Shen Hui was leaving Li Xiulian's place, he was still sucking on the crumbs of peach shortbread on his fingers when he was suddenly hit on the back of the head by a snowball.

He turned around angrily and found Li Shutao with five boys who were about his age behind him.

"Beat them up! After you're done, I'll give you candy!"

At Li Shutao's command, the boys grabbed snowflakes and threw them at Shen Hui.

In the village, when boys fight, people usually don't interfere unless the injuries are serious. They all know how to handle such situations, so they throw snowballs at them and block Shen Hui's path so he can't escape.

When the snowballs are piled up tightly, they're as big as pebbles. If you throw one, it'll hit you on the head with a "thud" and even bloom into a flower.

Not satisfied with just smashing, they pushed Shen Hui into a snowdrift that the villagers had piled up while several of them held him down, and Li Shutao grabbed snow and poured it down Shen Hui's collar into his clothes.

Another one, not one to shy away from trouble, poked a snowball into Chen Hui's crotch until a few adults passed by, at which point they all scattered.

Shen Hui fell ill as soon as he got home. When Widow Zhou heard that Li Shutao had led the beating, she could only keep her anger inside.

Pushing a pregnant woman is no small matter. If this matter could really be let go like this, Widow Zhou would be willing to grit her teeth and suffer.

When Li Shiqing returned and heard about this, he wanted to teach Li Shuxian and Li Shutao a lesson, but then he felt that since he had already done it, it was quite satisfying.

"Next time something happens, tell your dad first. If something really happens, our family won't be in the right again."

Li Shiqing's father, Old Master Li, who is usually silent, couldn't hold back any longer today: "I think my grandson did the right thing. You should beat that kid Taozi every time you see him in the future."

Old Master Li had lost all his teeth, but the things he said were quite harsh, making Bai Shiqing want to laugh.

Seeing Bai Shiqing smile, Li Shuxian felt much more at ease: "I was terrified when I heard about it today. Luckily, you and my son are alright, otherwise I would have killed that kid."

"Why are you talking about killing people like those thugs?" Bai Shiqing thought Li Shuxian probably had too much contact with Shen Heng. "Don't talk nonsense next time."
