Chapter 180 Rescue

When Deng Min came to our house to make pastries, Shen Heng would go to the bedroom to stay. He never interfered when his sister-in-law and her husband were together.

When Bai Jiaojiao saw Deng Min off, she returned to her bedroom and found Shen Heng wrapped up tightly in the blankets, with only his head sticking out.

"What are you doing? Why aren't you studying?"

As soon as Bai Jiaojiao closed the door, she turned around and saw Shen Heng lift the blanket, revealing himself naked, and say to her, "Jiaojiao, come here."

Bai Jiaojiao's pupils dilated subconsciously, then she quickly looked away and took two quick steps to close Chen Heng's blanket.

She covered the edge of the blanket, pulled Shen Heng underneath, and said with a flushed face, "What are you doing?"

Shen Heng smiled and reached out his arm from inside to hug Bai Jiaojiao: "Aren't you satisfied?"

Suddenly, something indescribable popped into Bai Jiaojiao's mind, and her ears burned: "Satisfied with what! Hurry up and put your pants on."

Bai Jiaojiao broke free from Shen Heng and threw one side of her pants at him.

"What are you being shy about? It's not like we've never seen this before," Shen Heng said, not bothering to put on any clothes, as he lifted a corner of the blanket. "Come in and get some sleep. I have to get up early tomorrow."

Bai Jiaojiao hesitated for a moment before lying down in Shen Heng's arms, after all, she didn't want to delay Shen Heng's work tomorrow.

As soon as she lay down, Shen Heng pressed his body against hers. Bai Jiaojiao was both ashamed and angry, and bit his shoulder, leaving several rows of small teeth marks.

"You shouldn't go home tomorrow."

"Didn't you say you missed me, that's why I came back?" Shen Heng said, feigning innocence despite having gained an advantage.

"I don't want to think about you anymore, I hate you."

Bai Jiaojiao wrinkled her nose and glared fiercely at Chen Heng.

Shen Heng chuckled: "I understand. I didn't perform well enough. Come on, let me serve you again."

"!!!!"

.

Shen Heng wasn't the only one who left home before dawn every day; Bai Shibao did too. Luckily, he had bought a bicycle, and although it was secondhand, it didn't hinder his riding at all. However, since the town's supply and marketing cooperative had also started selling glutinous rice strips, he had to get up even earlier to go to the neighboring town.

Fortunately, Shili Village is located between two towns, and the journey to the neighboring town is only a little longer.

At first, when the people on the black market saw Bai Shibao's unfamiliar face, they almost didn't dare to let him in. They even demanded a pound of glutinous rice strips from Bai Shibao before the one in charge finally smiled.

Because glutinous rice strips sell well, Bai Shibao had already established a foothold in the neighboring town during the Chinese New Year.

However, he would also occasionally go to the original black market, since there were some regular customers who didn't have time during the week and couldn't get the limited supply of glutinous rice strips from the supply and marketing cooperative, so they could only buy them at the black market before going to work.

Today, Bai Shibao arrived in town and had just parked his bicycle when a group of people gathered around him.

"Why haven't you come for so long? Where have you been making your fortune?"

"I come here every ten days or so, Uncle, here's half a jin for you."

"Give me a pound, it's hard to find these anymore."

The man who came was a man in his forties. Bai Shibao had seen him in the black market on his first day there, and he guessed that the man might also be a middleman, but he had never seen him sell anything.

The man muttered, "My daughter loves your food. She's been craving it at home these past few days. When are you coming over next? Do you have a definite answer?"

"Come once a week," Bai Shibao thought for a moment and made an agreement with his regular customer. "If the production team is particularly busy, I might not come."

As Bai Shibao spoke, he packed the glutinous rice strips. He would pack one pound of glutinous rice strips into two oil paper bags.

He handed it over with both hands, and the man nodded: "Okay, now I can finally give my daughter an explanation. Hey, did you put opium in this stuff? How can she still be addicted? I was thinking, why don't we just marry her off to you, so she can come and stay at your house and watch over the pot?"

Hearing the complaints, Bai Shibao knew it was a joke, but he still blushed. Luckily it was dark, otherwise he would have been embarrassed.

More customers gathered around. After buying his items, the man weighed them in his hand and said, "Okay, I won't keep you from doing business any longer. I'm off."

"Okay, Uncle."

Bai Shibao hadn't come for a few days, but business had improved a bit. Once he got busy, he immediately forgot about the matter.

Although Shen Heng left early last night, he finished all his work and was not late for work this morning. Some people disapproved, but they didn't dare to say anything.

Soaking in water on a freezing cold day isn't something everyone can do. Not everyone has the good conditions to be in good health, wearing rubber shoes and woolen socks. Some people even get sores on their feet after just two days.

"thump!"

Shen Heng was engrossed in his work when suddenly a large splash of water erupted beside him, splashing his face with icy seawater that trickled down his neck and into his clothes.

He instinctively turned his head and saw a person fall into the sea.

She collapsed beside him, and Shen Heng grabbed her clothes and pulled her up. Her colleagues quickly ran over to help her up.

"Xiaofen! Xiaofen?!"

The girl who fainted in the sea was a fifteen-year-old girl who had just graduated from junior high school. This was the first time she had been sent by the brigade to plant seaweed seedlings. This was not an ordinary person's hardship. After working for two days, her feet and hands were covered with frostbite. Touching the seawater was not scary, but what was scary was that her hands would crack open when the wind blew on the sea surface. When she was soaked in the water again, she could only grit her teeth and keep going.

She happened to have her period today. Because she developed late, her period always tormented her to the point of near death. Zhao Xiaofen felt dizzy all day. She originally wanted to wait until noon to ask her team leader for leave, but suddenly everything went black and seawater poured into her mouth and nose. She could swim, but she had no strength to struggle.

Zhao Xiaofen thought she was going to die, but she was pulled up by a strong arm.

She was helped ashore, and a kind auntie covered the back of her pants for her. Zhao Xiaofen had already put on toilet paper, but it was completely soaked after being in the sea.

The shore was in chaos. Some people were shouting to go to the health station, while others said they should help them back to their dormitories first. Shen Heng ignored them all. He just wanted to finish his work as soon as possible and go home. He also had to go to the supply and marketing cooperative to buy things for Bai Jiaojiao on his way home.

He originally only asked for five yuan, but Bai Jiaojiao gave him ten yuan this morning, presumably because Bai Jiaojiao was very satisfied with his performance last night.

Shen Heng was itching to make a move and was looking forward to giving Bai Jiaojiao another good performance tonight.

In the afternoon, Shen Heng finished quickly and was about to leave when the team leader stopped him: "Um, Xiao Fen should be awake by now. You saved her life. Let her thank you at dinner tonight."

The team leader couldn't understand why this person was in such a hurry to go home.

It's much more cost-effective to eat in the cafeteria here. If he doesn't eat it, then someone else will end up eating it.

Shen Heng said, "No need, it's just a small matter."

That was a completely instinctive reaction from Chen Heng; even if a dog were drowning next to him, he wouldn't mind grabbing it.

Besides, he saved someone, so why should he go out of his way to wait for someone to thank him?
