Chapter 231 A Thousand Sails Pass by the Sunken Ship

Shen Heng chuckled and pulled Bai Jiaojiao closer to him: "Brother Heng is holding back his anger right now, he'll freeze me to death."

Bai Jiaojiao shifted her body, snuggling against Shen Heng to find a comfortable position: "Go to sleep, don't overthink it. Tomorrow is our first day at school, we must be in the best spirits."

Shen Heng didn't speak, but gently ruffled Bai Jiaojiao's hair, rested his chin on the top of her head, and closed his eyes.

Bai Jiaojiao woke up unusually early the next day, before dawn, but she was incredibly awake.

Shen Heng let out a long sigh of relief: "You're awake? Female college student."

"Okay, I'm not going to sleep."

Bai Jiaojiao stretched in Shen Heng's arms and said, "Let's pack up, it's still quite a distance to walk there."

Bai Jiaojiao was so excited, and Shen Heng was also very excited inside.

After all, being a college student in this era is practically a guaranteed job.

They weren't the only ones excited. When they arrived at the gate of Peking University at eight o'clock, the gate was already bustling with activity.

Outside, there were many temporary tables with "**College" on them. These were senior students from each college who came to welcome the new students, but there were also many freshmen carrying heavy backpacks, looking around.

Bai Jiaojiao and Shen Heng planned to find Bai Jiaojiao's medical school first and settle her in.

The entrance was packed with people, so even a tall guy like Shen Heng didn't have a very good view.

Instead of finding a medical school, they found Aunt Qin first.

"I knew you two would arrive early! Who's going to check in first?"

Aunt Qin looked even more radiant today than on the train. She waved to Bai Jiaojiao and Shen Heng, her voice carrying a powerful message.

When the two arrived in front of Aunt Qin, Chen Heng said, "Let's find the medical school first."

"Here, come with me."

"This is troublesome."

"Why are you saying that?" Aunt Qin nag. "You two both have high scores in your majors, it's really impressive that you were admitted to medical school. Sigh, those who can get into this major are probably the cream of the crop, the competition must be fierce, and getting in doesn't necessarily mean everything will be smooth sailing."

"You're right, but there's a saying that goes, 'One who stays near vermilion gets stained red, and one who stays near ink gets stained black.' If the overall environment is good, I believe an individual won't be bad either."

"You're quite perceptive, young lady," Aunt Qin smiled. "That's the medical school over there. I scouted it out for you a long time ago."

Bai Jiaojiao thanked him and went over with Shen Heng.

Not only are the medical school admission scores high, but they are also admitting fewer students this year. The senior students who came to greet us have been sitting behind the table since six o'clock and haven't made a single sale yet; their feet are numb from the cold.

When they saw someone coming towards them, they assumed they were asking for directions and didn't even look up.

"Hello, is this where we register for the Modern Medical School?"

A crisp voice rang out, and the group didn't react for a moment before remembering to stand up: "Oh, right, this is the registration area for the Modern Medical College. Are you registering?"

Hou Zhilin thought Bai Jiaojiao's voice was beautiful, but when he looked up and saw Bai Jiaojiao's true face, he was stunned.

Shen Heng waved his hand in front of his eyes: "It's her reporting for duty, what are you staring at?"

Hou Zhilin grinned foolishly at Bai Jiaojiao: "Give me your name and let me see your admission notice."

"My name is Bai Jiaojiao."

As he spoke, Shen Heng pulled Bai Jiaojiao's admission notice out of the inner pocket of his cotton-padded jacket.

"Bai Jiaojiao, right?" Hou Zhilin found Bai Jiaojiao's name on the list and ticked it. "She's from Class 3!"

Upon hearing this, several senior students who were there to greet him either clicked their tongues or sighed.

Why is it Class 3?

Hou Zhilin is really lucky.

"I'm in charge of your Class 3. Come on, come with me first, I'll take you to the dormitory."

Hou Zhilin emerged from behind the table and walked eagerly beside Bai Jiaojiao.

Shen Heng frowned and squeezed between the two. Hou Zhilin was scratched by the thermos bottle that Shen Heng was carrying on his back.

Because he was wearing thick clothes, he didn't feel any pain. Instead, he cheerfully asked, "Is this your brother? Is he here to take you to school? You're a local, right?"

Hou Zhilin made a bold guess based on Bai Jiaojiao's fluent Mandarin and her seemingly rural demeanor.

They were both men, and Shen Heng could tell what Hou Zhilin was thinking just by looking at him.

“He is my husband,” Bai Jiaojiao said, gently placing her hand on Shen Heng’s fist before he could fully clench it. “He got into our school’s business school, and we came to register together.”

"It's my husband..." Hou Zhilin didn't react immediately, still smiling. But when he realized that Bai Jiaojiao was already married, his smile froze on his face, and the flesh on his cheekbone stung from the cold wind. "Husband?"

Hou Zhilin, who had been looking past Shen Heng at Bai Jiaojiao, now focused his gaze on Shen Heng with surprise, before turning to Bai Jiaojiao and asking, "You two are married?"

"Do you have any objections?" Shen Heng glared at Hou Zhilin. "Can't we get married without informing you?"

"No, no, that's not what I meant, I just..." Hou Zhilin was both disappointed and embarrassed, and after the initial surprise, he was left stammering, "You two are a good match, a good, a good match..."

He noticed that Bai Jiaojiao was walking with a middle-aged woman and assumed they were a family.

Aunt Qin almost laughed until tears streamed down her face: "Oh, you little classmate, you don't need to say such things against your conscience. The two of them really do look very mismatched."

She dared to say anything, and Shen Heng had no way to refute her.

Hou Zhilin didn't dare to say another word along the way. Aunt Qin pointed things out to them: "This is the cafeteria," "This is the first teaching building. Your first-year classes are usually held here," "These are the offices of our college's teachers. Your medical school classes are over there."
