When Shen Heng returned home, it was past midnight. Bai Jiaojiao left the door open for him and didn't go to sleep.
"Why are you back so late?"
Shen Heng told Bai Jiaojiao that he was just going to a meeting in a neighboring district.
Bai Jiaojiao only smelled the alcohol on Shen Heng when he approached.
"Have you been drinking?"
"Mmm," Shen Heng replied in a muffled voice, leaning against Bai Jiaojiao's chest.
Bai Jiaojiao pushed Chen Heng's large head away from her arms: "Shall I wipe your face?"
"No need, I'm not drunk. I'll just wipe myself off in a bit." Shen Heng pulled Bai Jiaojiao back, not letting her leave. He hugged Bai Jiaojiao and rubbed his nose against her. Smelling that familiar fragrance, his drunkenness subsided considerably.
Bai Jiaojiao patted Shen Heng's head, feeling that he was like a child.
"Hey, do you know how people in the city address their men?" Shen Heng asked, twirling Bai Jiaojiao's hair with his fingers.
Bai Jiaojiao blushed and said, "I don't know."
"have no idea?"
"have no idea."
Shen Heng chuckled: "You're lying."
Bai Jiaojiao grew up in the city, so how could she not know the term "husband"?
"So what if you know? What's the difference between calling it that?"
“Yes, same. Say it and let me hear it.” Shen Heng, who was originally sitting half-reclined, sat up straight and stared at Bai Jiaojiao after speaking.
Bai Jiaojiao: "......"
Under Shen Heng's gaze, Bai Jiaojiao found herself unable to bring herself to call out.
"What are you doing? I have a certificate. Do I have to show you my marriage certificate before you can call me husband?" Shen Heng saw that Bai Jiaojiao's cheeks were red and she looked very cute. Even though he didn't hear Bai Jiaojiao call him husband, he was still smiling as if it didn't matter.
"I can't bring myself to say it." Bai Jiaojiao laughed shyly, and Shen Heng removed her hand from her face.
"I want to hear it, call out to me."
Shen Heng pleaded and coaxed, but Bai Jiaojiao pursed her lips, not daring to look Shen Heng in the eye, and whispered, "Husband."
"I didn't hear you clearly."
Shen Heng looked like a rogue, and Bai Jiaojiao knew he would act this way. She punched him twice and said, "I don't care if you didn't hear me."
"No, no, no, call me that one more time," Shen Heng said, taking advantage of his strength to pull Bai Jiaojiao into his arms. "Can you call me that from now on?"
"no."
Bai Jiaojiao didn't know why, but she just felt a little embarrassed.
I don't know where Shen Heng heard that, but nowadays people don't usually call each other that. In public, they say their partner, but in private, they usually just call each other by their name or "Old Shen".
"Then how about you call it to me privately, okay? We won't let outsiders hear it." Shen Heng understood the art of praising by first criticizing, and he took the initiative to back down, making it difficult for Bai Jiaojiao to refuse.
She said, "I can't keep calling out like that. I can call out when I'm in a good mood."
Shen Heng smiled and readily agreed, "Okay, whatever you say. Call me whenever you feel like it."
Shen Heng agreed so readily that Bai Jiaojiao was still blinking in disbelief when he pulled the blanket over them, saying, "Husband, I'll make you happy right now."
"Brother Heng, it's already very late!"
Bai Jiaojiao was pinned down by Shen Heng and unable to escape. Shen Heng kissed her earlobe: "You called me wrong, say it again."
"......"
"What's wrong? Are you in a bad mood? Is it because I didn't serve you well enough?"
Shen Heng always managed to find a reason for his lewd behavior, so Bai Jiaojiao quickly said, "Husband, husband!"
Shen Heng's bones melted: "No, there's no emotion in that. Call me properly."
He had already drunk some alcohol, and took advantage of the situation to act out.
