Chapter 259 Awkwardness

Xu Yue placed a stack of money on the table and looked at Zhang Mai.

"That's what Chen Meizhen said. It was Chen Meizhen who told me to go through her things. I don't know anything. I was just following the squad leader's orders. Why should I apologize?"

"Does being an accomplice mean you're not a murderer? We're going to search your things today, how do you know we have no right to do that? Does that mean you have the right? Does that mean Chen Meizhen has the right?" Xu Yue fired off like she'd been hit by a machine gun.

"I'm sorry! Okay?"

After saying this in a fit of pique, Zhang Mai grabbed her crossbody bag by the window and ran out of the dormitory.

Xu Yue felt extremely pleased and sat down at the foot of Bai Jiaojiao's bed: "Jiaojiao, you are so smart, how did you figure out it was Hu Xiao's?"

Xu Yue, who lived with Hu Xiao day and night, knew better how superstitious Hu Xiao was. Bai Jiaojiao's insistence on swearing meant she had already seen through Hu Xiao's behavior and came up with this plan to target her.

"You know, a person's eyes don't lie."

Bai Jiaojiao said.

"So, what do you think of my eyesight?" Xu Yue looked at Bai Jiaojiao with admiration: "You're really amazing, really!"

Shu Manling also said gratefully, "Bai Jiaojiao, I really don't know how to thank you enough this time. If you ever have any difficulties in the future, you must tell me, and I will do my best to help you!"

Shu Manling held Bai Jiaojiao's hand. Although she knew that her current situation was vastly different from Bai Jiaojiao's, and that Bai Jiaojiao might not really have anything she needed her help with, she didn't say such things lightly. Just because she couldn't do it now didn't mean she couldn't succeed in the future. There would always be a day when she could help.

"Aren't we friends? Okay, the matter is resolved, so let's not think about it anymore. Let's focus on our midterms and not let this affect our grades."

In other colleges, a score above 60 is considered passing.

But they are in medical school. Who would want to see a doctor who only got 60 points on a test in school? What if the problem is the half of the test he got wrong?

Apart from basic courses taught by other colleges, all courses taught by medical school professors require a passing grade of 90 or above.

Midterm grades account for 20% of the total grade, perfect attendance and class participation account for 30%, and final grades account for 50%.

So if you don't do well on the midterm, the pressure at the final exam will be immense. Nobody wants to fail a course right after starting their freshman year. Those who get into Peking University are the cream of the crop; failing a course is incredibly embarrassing.

"Yes, we won't let this kind of trivial matter affect our mood for studying! Come on, let's go eat, and then go to the library to study until dark!" Xu Yue hugged Shu Manling's arm to help her relax.

The three of them had left their belongings at the library, so they were quite carefree when they left.

As for Hu Xiao's matter, let Huang Shifeng talk to Chen Meizhen about it; they don't want to get involved in that bad luck.

After the three of them finished eating, they stayed in the library until dark. Bai Jiaojiao truly felt the gap between herself and a gifted academic genius like Xu Yue.

However, the three of them studying together were quite efficient.

When she went out, she saw Shen Heng waiting for her at the door again, picking at the leaves.

"Brother Heng!"

Bai Jiaojiao called out to him from afar, then turned around and said to the two of them, "I'm leaving now. You guys go back to your dorm tonight and see what Hu Xiao has to say."

"Hmph, does she even have the nerve to say anything?"

Xu Yue tilted her head back, not at all afraid of being embarrassed when she went back.

Shu Manling tugged at Xu Yue and said, "Don't get into a fight with them when you go back. You'll be living together from now on."

It takes five years to graduate from their college, and less than half a year has passed. They'll be seeing each other all the time from now on, and living like this will surely make them sick.

“She did something wrong, she should feel guilty. What are we afraid of? I won’t tolerate that.”
